So Gasmii, what did everyone think of the total choke out fake out? Not very nice of them, I know.

I have to say that this show is very surprising. I find myself vaguely disappointed after watching it the first time and then when I go back to write about it, I realize just that it is actually a very good show.

Anyway, Drita didn’t actually choke out Renee. Carla actually put her hand on Renee’s throat as a way of trying to separate Renee and Drita (which I don’t know how that generally works as a method for breaking up fights).

Karen stands around smirking because all of her shit is working out exactly the way she planned with Drita fighting her battle for her. And that’s pretty much the entire fight.

The theme of this episode seemed to be focused the husbands and ex-husbands and how the life has affected the wives and the children. Carla is still lying to her kids about where their father is, but has no plans to wait around for him.

Drita is pissed because her husband keeps changing his timeline for when he is actually getting out of prison.  Renee is dealing with her ex not showing up for his son even though he isn’t in prison anymore.

Renee is also considering something Karen said during the fight. The part about Renee being ok with Sammy the Bull being a murderer but not ok with him being a rat. So, the season actually looks like it’s going to make the women really reflect on where they are in their lives and if it really is a place the want to be.

Which, kind of sucks because I was hoping it would just be about mobbed up hoes getting drunk and beating the crap out of each other. But, it’s only the second episode, I’m gonna keep my fingers crossed on that one.

If there were ever a situation where in which I had to choose between cheese and chocolate, cheese would win hands down. I spend my days writing blog posts for the multi-housing industry and my nights harshly judging people who appear on reality shows. If there is the odd weekend in which I am not working, or feeling smugly satisfied about my lack of my own reality show, I will build a blog for my friends. Then, I will spend the rest of my weekend conning other friends, family members, and general acquaintances to donate their talents to help out. I am shameless in my love of free stuff, blue humor, and great or even terrible fiction. I tell my friends that I watch reality shows to feel better about myself. In actuality, I watch them because I am vastly entertained by the things people will do to be famous. When Flipit asked me to join the TVGasm family, I was honored. When he said that I would be paid in Cheetos and M&M's, I was totally in.

    I haven’t seen the episode yet but I read a bit of gossip on the web..first, Drita’s husband is the mob boss! He has been robbing banks since the 80′s and his father was killed by the FBI in the ’70′s. Also, Renee’s dad is #3 in the same crime family, Bonnano and another one I can’t remember. Well Renee’s dad is in jail and when he found out they were doing the show (Renee’s sister is the producer) he stopped speaking to them! He thinks they are exposing the family. So, does that mean Renee is a rat? ;)

    I’m mad Drita didn’t choke Renee out but we still have the Carla/Renee catfight to look forward to.

    Oh, some more juicy gossip I forgot to include.

    Drita’s husband, the Bonnano mob boss, also has political connections. His cousin is former NYC mayor Guiliani, who made national headlines for his efforts during 9/11. Well, Guiliani appointed Bernard Kerik as NYC Police Commisioner as soon as he entered office and the two worked together. Now, Mr. Kerik is currently in prison for criminal activity and corruption while holding that office, which may include taking bribes.

    Housewives fans may recognize Kerik, he is a friend of the Manzos!! He was the guy who trained the big German Shephard for Caroline in season one.

    And the Manzos have the mob connection when Albert and Tommy Manzo’s dad was killed by the mob for allegedly skimming off the top of casino earnings. He was found naked and stuffed into a trunk.

    Mayors related to mob bosses, hiring corrupt police commissioners, who are good friends with families(Manzos) with other mob affiliations who also held public office. (Caroline’s husband Albert was the Water Commissioner of Paterson, NJ until he was forced to resign last month for lying about his address.)

    What a tangled web.. Although, I did hear that the Brownstone was a successful money laundering business. So, who knows?

    Doesn’t really matter to me who was doing the choking, the look on Renee’s face was priceless.
    (That would have to be the oddest sentence I have ever written)

    sheesh! LOL!! That look was hilarious. And really, nothing says love better then spewing profanities with your jailed husband about what to shove up your ass – way to go, Drita!

    I can’t really get into this show because I always thought that everyone knew about the mob, but you weren’t to speak of it.

    If they are really connected then I assume they ladies will be silenced, or does that just happen on Sopranos.

    @sarcasatire, you have made my day with all of this juicy juicy gossip.
    @sheesh, the facial expression is priceless, but I am kind of disappointed by the fake out.
    @LAC was ass what he said? I was thinking he said something a lot more graphic about her female anatomy. Ass would be downright polite compared to what I thought he said.
    @classydrunk, I have read on other sites that Renee and her sister have been disowned by their families for their participation in this show. Apparently, Renee’s sister is a producer and came up with the concept. Which kind of makes all of the problems she had with Karen seem much more set up. She should have problems with Karen because of Karen’s ridiculous stealth bitch behavior not because of fear of reprisal from daddy.

    I can’t stand Karen. She’s so Ganstah my arse.
    I wait and wait for Drita to find out what Karen says about Lee’s and her relationship. I doubt Karen has the ballz to say anything to her face.
    I hope Karen likes pudding because that will be all she will be able to eat after Drita gets done with her.

    I believe Mob Wives is completely fake. I don’t believe anybody in the mob would allow their wives to be on tv talking about that lifestyle.Get a life people
