Did everybody see last night’s Justin Bieber concert?!?
Oh…I mean, the X Factor finale. My bad!
Last night was the thrilling conclusion to our long, long journey down the road we know as The X Factor – night two of the big finale was chock full of gushing tears, surprise performances, and the least surprising ending since Rachel got off the damn plane on Friends.
Our final three took to the stage with holiday tunes – Melanie sang Mariah Carey’s (WHAT?!? A Mariah Carey song from Melanie?!? WHOA!!!) ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You,’ Chris Rene chose ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,’ and Josh Krajcik performed ‘Please Come Home For Christmas’ from the Home Alone soundtrack.
We also got to see our top twelve contestants one last time, as they all took the stage for a group performance of Lady Gaga’s ‘Edge of Glory,’ and a few of them – Marcus Canty, Astro, and Drew – got to return for special performances with some of the guest artists. It didn’t make much sense to me that the fourth, sixth, and seventh place contestants got a chance to sing again when the fifth place finisher, Rachel Crow, didn’t – but she DID say that what she really wants to do is host, and since the producers let her have her own miniature host segment, I guess that was her consolation prize.
The special guest performers of the evening were 50 Cent, Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo, Leona Lewis, and a Stevie Wonder appearance during the mini Justin Bieber concert that took over the airwaves for a full 15 minutes.
We found out fairly early on that Chris Rene was our third place finisher, leaving Josh Krajcik and Melanie Amaro to battle it out for the top spot…aaaaaaand….do you know who won? Should I ruin it for you? Let’s just say that it was pretty obvious that this whole game was a little rigged from the very get-go – I’m not saying the winner didn’t deserve it, but the producers made VERY sure that this person was the ringer every step of the way.
Come back for the full recap where we’ll discuss the return of the Stereo Hogzz patented ‘polishing the knob’ move, a precise count of exactly how many lyrics of ‘In Da Club’ Fox had to bleep out, and a dramatic retelling of how much I cried during the contestants’ supporters’ videos!
In the meantime, if you’d like to read about last week’s performance night, you can read my recap here! Thanks as always for reading, and have a happy holiday season!

Shh, don’t tell Nads the game was rigged. She’ll be really disappointed. I thought Drew was very cute in a totally rehearsed way, so I’ll forgive her her jeebus babbling.
