The Christmas morning tradition around the Tabloid Baby office is to open presents and then stare at the WPIX TV Yule Log from 9 am til noon. But if three hours of crackling fantasy and saccharine Yuletide music isn’t enough, we found a TV fireplace you can stare at for 24 hours straight.Starting at 4 am Christmas morning, a competing yule fire will glow uninterrupted for 24 hours on the HDTV channel, INHD, with a high-definition picture they say is “so crisp you’ll be tempted to reach for a poker.” INHD’s log has burned every Christmas since 2003, but with HDTV ownership doubling every year, it’s only now considered to have “gone national.” This log was filmed by Ron Roy, who makes those screen savers that look like tropical fish tanks.
