Fox unleashed a three-pronged scheduling attack as it introduced its 2007-2008 schedule at the annual “upfronts” presentations, saving four of its seven scripted series for January, starting up a new season in the spring, and starting the fall completely unscripted on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
But despite Anthony Anderson starring in the New Orleans cop drama K-Ville, the Terminator-derived Sarah Connor Chronicles, and the combination of Parker Posey and Lauren Ambrose in the anti-Gilmore Girls drama The Return of Jessica James, and Julianna Margulies in the Denis Leary-produced Canterbury’s Law– not to mention word that 24 will be around for at least two more long days– the big star of the coming season is Kelsey Grammer, who’ll return to prime time with real-life Fox News style conservative Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond) in the “bickering news anchors” sitcom Back To You.
