And watch something funny for once. Okay, so if you think “The King of Queens” is the height of comic brilliance on TV right now, you might not enjoy this. Sidenote: you should be shot. But for everyone else, Reno 911! is one of the funniest sitcoms on television. End of story. New episodes air tonight at 10:30 PM on Comedy Central (that’s 7:30 PM if you’ve got Directv on the West Coast).

Sorry to inform you, but the first episode was awful. Garcia shoots a guy’s dog who supposedly has cancer and is going to die, and then finds out that it’s not really the guy’s dog. That was really tasteless, unfunny and predictable just like the rest of the episode.

Last night’s premiere was not as funny as I would have liked, but the dog stuff was pretty damn good – unless you get rankled easily. In which case, why are you watching Comedy Central?

    James,

Sorry you thought you were getting a 30 minute episode of Law and Order when you tuned into Reno 911 last night. It’s still one of the funniest shows on TV.

The shows on Comedy Central are much more clever than that. Come on, you KNEW that the guy who was selling Dangle’s bike was one of the cops. Not very creative. If that’s your idea of entertainment….

the bike thing was sort of predictable, but I liked how Dangle dressed up in gay gangster fashion and flashed a glock. the jokes weren’t as on target as usual – the naked prowler was sort of eh, but man, that dog thing was great. tasteless, yes, but that made it all the better. i also enjoyed the trampoline scene, but then again, i do love slapstick.
