Yikes! He is SUCH a freak!
He’s rebuking psychiatry, not so much psychology. Psychiatrists are trained in medicine and therefore prescribe medications. Ol’ L. Ron decided that mind drugs were bad, and turned his flock against psychiatrists.
Tommy boy recently made a statement to the effect that Scientology (TM) has the only effective treatment for addiction. This statement was both ignorant and grandiose, much like everything else he’s ever said.
sorry folks, i’m having some trouble CONTROLLING THE VOLUME OF MY VOICE. But seriously though, I care about everyone here.
My favorite line: “I mean it. That is not just words to me.” Ah, what a saint. He’s helping all us depressed folk by teaching us the OCD-inducing ways of a giant pyramid scheme.
I also love how towards the end, Frank TJ Mackey starts making that Kubrickesque, eyeballs-rolled-up-to-the-brow face. It’s hilarious. But also sad.
oh tom, you so craz-y.
i hope katie gets away from him, and fast!!
This man is in need of medical attention. Seriously. I brushed off the bi-polar comments initially. After all that I’ve seen of him in the last few days, it’s apparent he is truly in trouble.
Does he think he’s on the set of Jerry McGuire with a new Misson Statement?
Man I love watching PR campaigns go up in smoke. I’ve heard so many TC defenders this week trying to figure out whats going on inside that loopy head. Gee, I dunno twenty years of having people constantly kiss your ass might acutally have an impact on your self image and ego? Oops I’m sorry Mr. Cruise, I didn’t mean to make eye contact with you. Yeesh.
Props to u IndianJones01. Thats some funny shit.
It just feels like Tom’s acting when he is trying to be extra-sincere. Lame.
Run, Katie, RUN!!!!
At this point, Nicole Kidman must be heaving a GIANT sigh of relief….
Stop the madness. Please!
If I were Spielberg, I would be downing some anxiety meds myself.
Ah!!! I want to watch the video, but it won’t work!!! What format is it in, or what player do I need to watch it?
I think this man himself needs serious help. I watched the show and was left shaking my head at the end, it is fine for people to have their own opinions but to put down people who have used effective treatments to help them with their problems is irresposible. It seems he likens himself to a God who can help everyone. I agree that everyone should run especially away from his latest movie, maybe then he will get the message.
For years, Hollywood scientologists like John Travolta and Tom Cruise have dodged questions and refused to get very specific about their beliefs, presumably because they and/or their PR people knew that talking too much about scientology could weird out some fans. I’ve heard Tom and John give very general, sugary answers then direct the interviewer to a new subject. It seems that Tom is now breaking away from that strategy by going on the record with his disdain for medications and so forth.

It’s QuickTime – and Apple product.
I can never play the clips you guys
post. It only displays as an empty square. What program are you using
to run the clips. It doesn’t even ask
me if I want to install something. Thanks.
Remember when Jason Priestley almost died in that racecar crash? I really wished it had been Tom Cruise, but he wouldn’t have had Jason’s luck.
is- install Apple’s Quicktime if you can. With any luck if you are at work your PC/LAN group won’t have blocked you from being able to down load it. (mine have…bastards!)
Is there any reason that the clips are done with Quicktime rather than something Microsoft has pushed on us all? Just curious
TC completes me!
Wendy,
We usually use iMovie or FinalCut to edit our clips. Quicktime is the easiest way to embed the clips without forcing the user to load the whole movie into the webpage. It speeds up page loading and saves us bandwidth.
WHAT A FUCKING FREAK!
Hey Tom, I suppose vitamins will help my bipolar-disorder-suffering family members? And maybe a check with a lot of zeroes made out to your scam death-cult?
Go be with your beard and troll for young twinks, you hack.
You all just need to leave Tom Cruise the fuck alone. Ron L Hubbard is a GOD. Maybe Tom Cruise knows something and he’s secretly telling us aliens are coming. Maybe he’s flipping out because the nasty shit Katies been growin on her face has mastesized in his brain! Maybe Nicole wants custody of a bed sheet, or towels she’s left him?
Maybe…just maybe…he fuckin W H A C K E D out? Who ever made the pyramid scheme analogy…VERY true. And I had not idea John Travolta was mixed up in this cult??? Makes me feel its ok to practice Wicca, because they just believe that nature finds a way, and believes in TWO gods. That doesn’t flip me out at bad as scientology.
Get this freak to the de-programer pronto! He needs major intervention.
Yeah, Tom, I’m sure those special $cientology vitamins would have prevented Andrea Yates from chasing her 5 children around the house and then drowning them. So now you’re bagging on Brooke Shields about her post-partum depression? Screw you.
Hey Tom….Jim Carrey called…he said you can keep the crazy. In fact, you own it.
Man, sorry posting so much…just that I watched that clip again. He IS psycho. Do understand how creepy he is? It just chills me to watch that. It’s like scientology’s poster child is setting out the recruit or something. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN V??? Remember when they used people in the public eye to ‘trick’ the general population into thinking the Visitors were kosher? Grim grim world…keep some wooden stakes sharpened under your bed…they could launch an assult any moment. Really, he creeps me out. Talk about abusing power.
KATIE RUN!!!
http://mclaughlincameron.com/freekatie.html
I know he cares about me, SERIOUSLY, but I’m just glad he doesn’t know where I live.
I would also like to mention that maybe we should “look at her life” when we are discussing the distaster he believes Brooke is.
She grew up in showbiz with an alcoholic mother who had her nuded up before she was legal but somehow pulled herself together, WENT TO PRINCETON (did tom get out of high school?), had a hit TV show even though she was considered washed up, WROTE A BOOK (Tom do you know how to be a gud speler?) that helps thousands of women, and now is in a happy marriage with a beautiful baby.
Yeah what a trainwreck!!!
check out this link for some SCARY info on Scientology. As a Christian, I just don’t ever have the same feelings for celebs when I find out they are Scientologists – they SEEM to be intelligent and then you find out that they believe that everything that’s wrong in the world can be traced back to aliens in volcanoes… or something to that effect. Maybe since we are all not “Clear” we just don’t understand. haha
http://www.factnet.org/Scientology/celebrities.htm?FACTNet
can we say napoleon complex?
This is only happening because Katie’s not putting out- Tom has to expend all that energy somehow. Penelope, I beg you, come get Tom and save us all!!!
freako cult members in scientology are TAUGHT how to answer reporter’s questions with certain tactics
(Tom passes the test! Xemu would be proud)
Tactic (d), the most ambitious one, involves ”handling” a hostile reporter there and then, through what it describes as ”verbal karate”. If it is a ”genuine”–that is, favourable–question, the PRO can answer it and, where possible, substitute his own prepared points.
If the question even in the slightest removes his total control of the situation, he should not tolerate it…for an instant, but immediately attack back, which he does either by a snide remark, question, or comment, or by physical overwhelm,’whichever seems most appropriate to maintain control of the situation.
maryberry, John Travolta’s debacle “Battleship Earth” was his paean to L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology founder and sci-fi author. “Battleship” was Hubbard’s last novel.
But unless you’re pretty well-off they’re not interested in you. I’m safe (alas), but I have a cousin who has gotten mixed up in it and is flying to Florida frequently to take yet another course.
This is what Scientology does to people. You became a brainwashed puppet in the hand of the Church of Scientology (Co$). They got their hate of psychiatry from the founder of the Co$. A former scientologist who was suffering from epilepsy, which Co$ says they can cure.
http://www.torymagoo.org/devil.htm
«She had epilepsy, which to the rest of the world is a serious, chronic illness. But to Scientologists, Bezazian’s epileptic convulsions were a sure sign of a body thetan’s presence.»
And worst, some have died because Co$ wouldn’t want their members to use “psych” medication:
http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/JeremyPerkins/
«On March 13, 2003, Jeremy Perkins, a 28 year old untreated schizophrenic, stabbed his mother Elli 77 times.»
Disgusting. Tom Cruise is not helping anybody.
Run Katie, RUN!!!
As an atheist and all around skeptic, hearing a Scientologist use the word pseudo-science about medicine would be hilarious if it wasn’t so scary that millions of people listen to this man.
HE himself is in serious need of psychiatric help. He needs the very medicine he’s bitching about.
Sure, we tend to overmedicate our kids, and that is a problem, but the problem isn’t the psychiatrists or the drug manufacturers, it’s the parents who can’t cope with their kids so they just pump them full of drugs. Maybe he should point his finger at them instead.
And that whole Brooke Shields thing… just who the fuck does this guy think he is? Post partum depression is an incredibly serious problem and he thinks you can just fix it by thinking positive thoughts and giving a tenth to the L. Ron Hubbard foundation and everything will be fine. Remind me again… how may times has he given birth? I thought so.
His idiotic ramblings remind me of that old saying:
“It is better to remain quiet and be thought a fool, than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt.”
What a loon.
Just checked out Narconon, the Scientology run “most successful drug treatment centre in the world” according to Tom.
Wow who knew a programme of vitamins, saunas and aerobics, and $10,000 in books could be so effective?
Noticed they state the signs to look out for to see if someone you know has a drug problem includes;
“dilated pupils, excited, talkative, deluded sense of power, paranoia, depression, loss of control, nervousness, shaking, anxiety, hallucinations, aggression, violence, dizziness, mood changes, blurred vision, mental confusion, agitation.”
Does this sound like someone we know?
WAIT A MINUTE…….
Pope Benny, you are so right. I was in a cults course in university and some loony-as-rat-sh*t Scientologists visited for a seminar…they would not answer questions that didn’t cater to the mass ego of the Church and actually used physical intimidation and their voices to drown me out. Bunch a crazy c*cksuckers. And it looks like Tom Cruise is their most loyal disciple!
First of all, I would like to say that Tom Cruise is crazy and I do believe Scientology to be a brainwash factory. (That being said, if the Scientology gestapo is reading this, it was b-side who put the videos up. The black kid just wants everybody to get along.)
Second, don’t confuse Scientology with the Church of Christ, Scientist. They are different things, and have different beliefs with regard to how their faith relates to the medical profession.
Third, I do believe that we have overmedicated ourselves and our children. Prescribing drugs for ADD and ADHD is not all the fault of psychiatrists and psychologists, because you don’t need to have a degree in that field to prescribe ritalin or any similar drugs.
How popular is scientology outside of Hollywood? I know that Cruise, Travolta, Kirstie Alley, the actress from “King of Queens” and a lot of others in Hollywood are into it, but I don’t hear much about it outside of those type of people. Does anyone here know if this group is popular in other parts of the country, too? I’ve always figured it was a shady group because of the way Tom, John, et al dodge, weave, and get silly to avoid answering questions about their beliefs.
Wow, he’s the conductor on the train to Crazytown!! Must be something about being a closeted famous homosexual in H’wood (Tom and John Travolta) that attracts them to L. Ron’s cult . . . maybe that the Scientology legal sharks (with frickin’ laser beams on their heads) will sue the crap out of anyone who tries to out them??
AS A PROUD STAFFER OF A. HO. I’M PRIVELEGED TO SAY THAT TOM CRUISE ACTUALLY POINTED AT ME AND SAID HE CARED ABOUT ME(SO MAYBE IT WASNT ONLY ME AND MAYBE HE IS THE CRAZIEST STAR IN HOLLYWOOD BUT CMON…ITS MAVERICK HERE) …AND PEOPLE SAID HE’S LOST THAT LOVING FEELING.
Look at their lives?!?!?!?!?!
You frikin A-HOLE!!! Who the hell does he think he is? UGH, I hate him!!!
Seriously though, he IS on drugs. He is. That’s all I can think of. Or he’s been out of touch with reality so long that he’s just lost it. What I don’t undertand is the Katie thing. She seemed so normal to me. Guess not.
And another thing. Why do people think he’s gay exactly? I mean, don’t you think by this point there would be SOME evidence of it already? A photo or something?
Guys, watch it on mute. He’s even MORE fucking annoying when just seen gesturing wildly and affecting facial expressions of genuine caring for the overmedicated masses.
Wino- I completely agree. When I watched that clip I felt like I was watching a never before scene from Jerry McGuire.
correction..seen scene
I do not like Tom Cruise. It always seems like he is putting on some sort of act. I also do not like Billy Bush. He is horrible! I want to sign a petition to get him off TV!
where is it?
Tom is a Fuckin’ freak — just don’t look into his eyes
Dear Tom: Can’t wait to see your future movie, “The Passion of the Cruise.” P.S. You being so happy with Katie Holmes has only confirmed all the Hollywood rumors and suspicions. Katie Holmes must have a penis.
Dear Tom: Can’t wait to see your future movie, “The Passion of the Cruise.” P.S. You being so happy with Katie Holmes has only confirmed all the Hollywood rumors and suspicions. Katie Holmes must have a penis.
You know what, I CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!, I thought i could but i can’t. Cruise is on some serious vitamins, Holmes is a man what has the world come to. No wonder he and Nicole adopted, he wouldn’t have sex with a women.
Tom Cruise’s evil psychs like you have never seen them before:
http://www.rickvodicka.com/rickvodicka.com/IllustratedHistoryofScientology.pdf
Be aware that this comic story is not made up to poke fun at scientologists, it is what they really believe in (they learn all this when studying to become OT3, in exchange of mucho $$$). It’s in PDF format, read before lawyers of Co$ have it removed from the web (they already contacted the author at this point).
Even the DC-8s part is really what L Ron Hubbard wrote down, so you can imagine in what state you have to be to believe all the scieno crap…
Coconuts, Katie does have a penis and Tom’s “enamored” by it.
Ethan Hawke?
To Couchpotato:
WHAT?
I don’t want him to care about me.
is it just me or does tom act like he’s on crack?
I just wanted to say I have an iMac and I love the embedded quicktime.
WOW, after his freak out on Oprah I didn’t think it could have gotten worse. I happy to see I was wrong.
Tom Cruise..what a freak
VERY, Very happy
ok it’s official: TOM CRUISE IS ON DRUGS!!!!!
how else can you explain that freakish performance?
perhaps he was thinking …is the camera on?
crazy MOFO!!
For the past 20 years I have been decrying Tom Cruise as a PHONY! I think he’s a boring actor in the caliber of Bonnie Franklin on “One Day At A Time.” This guy is a brain washed cult freak. Two of my friends have children who have Aspbergers — high-functioning autisimm — and frankly, Prozac and Ritilan have given both of these kids a life. TC is so out of touch with how real people live in this country. I’m glad people are finally seeing him for the phony he is. Tom may have been able to fool all those stupid North Shore Chicago broads in Oprah’s audience, but he didn’t fool the rest of America for a minute.
Tom – this one’s for you
http://eclectech.co.uk/mindcontrol.php
L. Ron Hubbard once ordered “get rid of the psychs!” And that has become Tom Cruise’s crusade. A secret directive by Hubbard explains the reason behind the irrational assault is that Scientology aught to obtain the financing and appropriations the mental healt field. In the end it is a money thing, folks.
Sadly this idiocy has costed lives because medication was withheld on severly ill scientologists. Read some wonderful quotes by Hubbard on psychiatry and psychology to know just how deep the hate goes of these freaks:
http://www.psychassualt.org
it appears that both of Tom’s heads are shooting blanks
He has to be brainwashed! I grew up thinking he was wonderful, now I am disturbed by his arrogance, ignorant, narcissistic behavior.
Get a grip Tom, you are making judgments about Brooke Shields in regards to something you will never experience, and know nothing about.
I am with the rest of you run Katie.. RUN!
If he cares about me so much I wish he would send me a check.
Tom Snooze needs to STFU and get his smug gnome face off of my computer screen. I hate him.
Clearly, Tom is being blackmailed by the Church of Scientology. One of their rituals is to confess every filthy thing they have done into a tape recorder.
Since he can’t get out of the cult, his plan is to act completely insane in hopes that Scientologists disassociate themselves from him.
It’s his only way out, and the most important role he’s ever taken on. Let’s support him with our ridicule and derision.
Freak!
The media loves to build people up and then tear them down. Tom Cruise is long overdue — and fortunately for Entertainment Tonight, he did a brilliant job of doing himself in. ET barely had to lift a finger.
Getting rid of Pat Kingsley was a bad move. Apparently she was the only one who could keep him under control. Bye Bye, Tom.
I think Mr. Cruise may be suffering from a psychiatric disorder called extreme narcissism. Not that he would be familiar with the term.., He would probably just chalk it up to confidence, intelligence or black juju.
The most damning indictment of Scientology I’ve ever seen is this 20/20 piece from 1982 — I recommend everyone check it out.
http://www.xenutv.com/us/2020-1.htm
MAYBE Mr.Tom Cruise and the rest of the world could come to an understanding:WE stop taking the so called ‘drugs’ and HE gets “scientology people” to help EVERYONE else for free…wonder if that would suit him???…Because last time I was approached by a member of that ‘cult’, they were incredibly polite, introducing themselves as the cure to all my problems and as we chatted away I told them I was on anti-depressants. They told me they could ‘sense’ I was a very special person, that my real talent was being destroyed by drugs, and that they really felt I would only benefit from their help…HOWEVER, when I told them I was unemployed and couldn’t really attend the classes they had told me would be’perfect for me’, they gave me a phone number and quickly told me to get in touch with them when I had the money…SWEAR TO GOD it’s a true story…it happened while I was living in the UK.
So, if they really worry soooo much about “you, me, your kids” and they’re so sure their ‘path’ is the right one why aren’t they volunteering, instead of asking for your paycheck, and then some???
Honestly, I’ve been having a blast watching TC becoming a looney lol fantastic therapy
I knew he had lost it when he was humping Oprah’s couch. He is exactly like any other bipolar person who suddenly decides they no longer need meds. We will see him a year from now on Oprah again, discussing his battle with mental illness.
Its ok Nicole- you dont have to say a word. We all understand.
Maybe Tom Cruise’s crusade for Scientology will backfire. I hope so. It seems he has alienated (get it? ‘alien’ated, like Scientology’s aliens) a lot of people already.
Interestingly enough, at least to me, one of the very first movies he ever had a part in (maybe the first) was “Endless Love,” in which Brooke Shields played a lead, so she is someone he would have met in person almost 25 years ago.
I am appalled that he is criticizing her for getting non-Scientologist help with post-partum depression.
Thomas Szasz on psychiatry:
http://www.reason.com/0505/cr.js.thomas.shtml
Man, what is going on with Tom Cruise?
.)
Does he actually think he can change the world for the better with Scientology? Where’s a good PR person when you need one, obviously Tom thinks he is so big, that he just can speak his mind and act a fool and people would see it as nothing but being cool, caring, and in love. Man he lost his movie star coolnes big time. (But I will definitely go see War of the Worlds
Stop trying to think, Tom – people are watching.
OK, so as a fan of the entertainment world, I am rather disappointed in Mr. Cruise. He has gone from talented actor to narcissistic jerk who automatically assumes that star power is synonymous with unconditional public acceptance of his opinions. As someone who has worked in the mental health field for several years, I have seen, firsthand, symptoms of bipolar disorder. Tom exhibits many of those symptoms in his recent displays of ridiculous behavior on Oprah and the Billy Bush interview. Tom, get help. I beg you. And don’t even get me started on his overnight love for Katie Holmes. They met, like, seven minutes ago? Who in the FUCK does this guy think he is? To target Brooke Shields is to alienate any female who has experienced post-partum depression, a very real condition in mothers who were able to sustain the rigors of childbirth. Tom, you’re an asshole. The media has given you countless opportunities to spread your crazy, but that doesn’t change the fact that you’re royally pissing people off. For the love of your precious Scientology, please stop talking, before one of your exes starts to spill your secrets, of which I’m sure there are many.
I live with and pay the bills for an “autistic” MOFO whose too cute! LOL. I’d love to do Cruise.
I have taken classes with the Church of Scientology that changed my life toward a positive direction. I use what I learned there every day of my life. What they teach and believe is far from what is being said here in this forum. Hold your judgments and find out for yourself first-hand just exactly what they are all about.
I agree with Lee above, find out first hand what they are all about. Here are testimonials of long time members er.. ex-members (hence, first hand information):

All first hand information
Here in the UK we don’t get Oprah but by the wonders of modern technology I have now seen it for myself. Coupled with the clip above I am now officially SCARED TO DEATH of Tom Cruise.
“To target Brooke Shields is to alienate any female who has experienced post-partum depression, a very real condition in mothers who were able to sustain the rigors of childbirth. Tom, you’re an asshole.”
Davis, I couldn’t agree with you more. Interesting how a “male” who has never even impregnated anyone can “speak” about post partum depression.
There were stories out years and years ago(before the gay rumors hit) where he said “my body is a temple” and that he limits sex. Personally I’d love to get Mimi Rogers (who was much older when they married.) Nicole Kidman (who was much the age of Katie Holmes when they married) and Penelope Cruz in a good gab session.
Or of course we can just wait till his “children’ grow up some more and write their tell-all “Daddy Dearest” story.
He’s becoming as scary as Michael Jackson
Leave Tom Cruise alone. He can say whatever the f*ck he wants. All your hatered directed towards him doesen’;t make you sound saner than him. You don’t like scientology. I get it. But how many of you actually know anything about it. I’m not a scientologist myself and not very knowlegebale about it either but at least I don’t doubtTom cencerity.
I see his future, and it is… over.
I could comment on his insanity, his idiocy, ignorance and arrogance, or on his disgusting ideas re Post Partum. But I’ll hold back. The one thing no one here has yet mentioned is the reputation of Narconon amongst educated medical professionals (vs. uneducated $cientologists)…The data that Narconon claims shows a 78% rehab rate, actually shows a 6% success rate, by their own criteria, moreover, it is extremely dangerous with the highest death rate of any treatment option. They totally ignore what the medical profession has learned from Hippocrates to now, and put patients at high risk of stroke, heart attack and seizure by forcing them to go cold turkey and take insane levels of niacin.
If I write TC and ask him nicely do you think he’ll stop loving me — really, I’m doing just fine without his help…
That looks so edited though. Cut and pasted frames on their part.
scientology kills.
Hey, after that freak show performance on Oprah, who are we to argue with him? I think he’s right on the money with this one- he really was dropped off a fucking spaceship.
Hey, I read all the post. Nice to see you understand the danger of scientology.
Tom Cruise, I am a big fan, and saw this coming, now it’s hardto watch.
He may be the best proof that scientology is dangerous.
Stop trashing him and try to get him some help! seriously, the leaders of sciento like David Miscavidge (remember his name please, it’s his fault) were and always are so hard on him. he can’t get through, and this is very sad for him and yes, all his fans.
if you knew the rules of scientology, it says (by hubbard): celebrities must speak loudly and stuff because they are above…
Tom has his brains full of this.
When you want to leave the church, you are “unclear”, stalk, harrass, and they own some of yoyr secrets easily.
Does Tom know that and realize? NO. Beleive me;
This is the saddest and unbeleivable famous history of Hollywood that is happening. Tom is N°1 (look at premiere, Forbes, etc)
Give some help to Tom; Try if you want to write to him, it can help; but you have to be well aware of the Whole Stuff that is scientology and its danger.
There is always Hope.
It must be very tough to be a closeted homosexual movie star trapped in an insane homophobic cult…
I feel sorry for all of you guys who are on prozac that think that you are happy. The dude is a frickin’ world famous star who is a great actor and he is right about how psychology is B.S. Learn to live without drugs america!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#96, I hope you never have to feel so depressed that you need meds and therapy. Trust me, there are many people who would not be alive if it werent for anti-depressants and “psychology bs”, so please dont be spouting off opinions that have no truth behind them.
Dear Tom Cruise,
Thank you SO much for caring about me!! I really had no idea that you cared. Could you please mail a cheque, as my university debt is now $30,000? Thanks a ton. Given the fact that you care about me so much, coupled with the fact that you make $20,000,000 per film, the only logical conclusion I can come up with is that you’ll be sending the cheque as soon as you can. Thanks again for caring!

A movie star/celebrity is just someone with a job that pays more money than most of us will make in a lifetime. Try to remember that they are not royalty, not gifted with a special knowledge of the nature of the universe, not politicians with special insider info and they are in no way qualified to tell us what is good or bad for them. Tom Cruise might be the guy next door who works at the local gas station if he hadn’t tried acting instead. Most successful movie stars simply stumble into success. They all had jobs that you and I held when they were getting started. Celebrity is a cruel joke that seems to decieve all of us into believing some people are special and gifted with profound insight and special knowledge. Isn’t that the same thing that the Scientologist wants you to believe about them? We need to think for ourselves more. When I was young our motto was “Question authority” this generation needs to “Question celebrity.” Lately there seems to be no end to the number of movie stars willing to tell us how to eat, think, vote, and worship. Don’t fall for it. They are just people like the rest of us. We are all trying to make sense of life.
Tom Cruise is just doing his best to live life in a very abnormal environment. He is an average guy in a very strange predicament. He has an abnormal amount of attention paid to everything he does and everything he says. Most celebrities have to deal with that, the point where they go a little mad is when they start to believe they are as special as the world is constantly telling them.
Belief systems are so seductive. Once you adopt a belief and it seems to be working for you it takes great strength to question it’s validity. Maybe we all need to ask ourselves if our own ideas about life are out of whack with reality.
Come on, does a lot of money and good looks make anyone a better human?
Maybe that’s why guys like Tom Cruise get on our nerves. LOL.
is nicole kidman still a scientologist?
just wondering.
Nicole Kidman is Catholic. She was never into the cult, and didnt want their kids to be either.
You have to remember that people like Tom Cruise, Travolta, Kristie Allen, etc. are not known for their intelligence or perception. They often speak foolishly and without depth.
They are not role models, nor should they be, for our children. Their wealth, though not deserved, is superficial and they are often still seeking the happiness and calm in life that most of us would like. Money has not given this to them and depression is well rooted in the realm of celebrity.
Most of them are not an educated group and, unfortunately, they become heros to those of us who value wealth above everthing else. How unfortunate. They must miss so much of the real life and what life is and should be about.
So that’s where all the lint from my dryer is going! Boy Howdy, has that little queen lost it or what? The closet sure is a lonley, lonley place isn’ Tom? Enough to drive you crazy? The only thing that’s “criminal” here is your sad,sad devotion to Scientology.
I did a little research about 4 years on Scientology, and I found this website,http://www.xenu.net/ and read stories about this Cult, and fake religon. (lots of true stories by ex victims) Very scary stuff.
A few months later a friend of mine from L.A called to tell me she closed her business, and became a church secretary for Scientology, she was living with a man who was very involved, she is now a shadow of the lady I used to know, she is strange and sounds like she is programmed.’
She has enrolled her poor daughter is the sea org cult school.
Im glad Tom is finally telling the world about this cult, normal people will recoil from this stuff.
Creepy, Creepy, Creepy!
Now tell me again in the movie War of the Worlds who plays the aliens? It’s tom right?

what if I dont WANT him to care about me?
Oh, Tom. You had me at, “I care, man,” you crazy fuck.
Cruise fascinates me. He is buying his own crazy hollywood PR BS. Look at his recent behavior. He is utterly manic. A high profile STAR with all kinds of personal issues pontificating and telling the little people how to live. Are there others who watched that clip who were as disgusted as I was, especially by the “I care” bit? How can anyone buy into Scientology after doing a little research into it on the internet? That is the source of Tommy boy’s bashing of psychiatrists/psychologists, because Scientology was designed (by a 2nd rate science fiction author) as a pseudo-religion to take the place of psychologists and psychiatrists.

Dawson!!! Where are you?? Joey is in severe danger!! Put down that camcorder and save her man..before it’s too late!
A serious nut job is holding her one sided smiling, shoulder hunching, constanly putting her hair back behind her ears a**, hostage!
Like all “true believer’s” to non-traditional religions (cults, philosophies, etc), Tom Cruise must adopt the positions of Co$ with total commitment and dedication. There is no room for variations on a theme as there is with traditional religions where sects allow for difference. Hence, Christianity has the variations of Catholicism and Protestantism as well as Mormonism and Christian Science. Scientology cannot, at this stage, tolerate difference.
The comment about “spinning commentary” is accurate as where there is no knowledge and a new outlook, the managers of the personalities would be very hesitant to expose their personalities to criticism. Fortunately, most crazy cults go away because their lack of substance and false claims can’t stand the test of time and they die a natural death. Unfortunately, Co$ has, what most traditional religions have been able to attain over time; money and influence that can offset the criticism and traditional factors by buying influence and marketing.
I get to make comment #113?!?! Cool!
Love, Love, Love. Dah De Dum.
Love, Love, Love.
Love, Love, Love.
There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done.
Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
It’s easy.
ha!
These comments are as funny as the article!
I’m scared.
In hollywood terminology, a beard is when a closeted gay actor sports a woman to butch up his masculinity, or whatever. Presently Katie Holmes is Tom’s beard; before Katie it was Penelope Cruz…you do the basic arithmetic.
What a freek! The man is insane!
I don’t agree with Scientology. I never will. However, the mob mentality of most of the comments on here can be just as frightening, if not more.
these people are making jealous comments here too: http://www.forums-silverwing.addr.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=10;t=001813
What a douche.
Was I the only one who saw an 80 ft antenna come out of his ass?
Maybe, just maybe, could some of you just believe that Tom is just being sincere and passionate about Scientology? Why is it ok for our President to preach to us about his religious beliefs and not Tom Cruise? All because he’s in the minority doesn’t make him a brain-washed crazy dude. He was wrong to use Brooke Shields as an example, but for years this man hasn’t really opened up, and I think it’s a nice change to see him kind of let loose, get crazy and not give a CRAP what the rest of the world will say.
Bush is as crazy as Cruise. Bad example, dude.
because what he is doing will hurt so many people who aren’t smart enough to do their homework and research how deadly scientology is…
I am saddened that Katie Holmes would get her hands so messy to promote her career…and if she is in love, oh dear!
run, Katie, run!
After reading your comments, i feel the need to tell you all something. I care. I care about YOU. And that is not just words to me, no it’s not. I care and I LOVE THESE COMMENTS. I’ve never felt this way about any comments before! IM IN LOVE AMERICA!! *jumps on couch and dry humps operah*
all u guys that down on tom seriously fuck off, the guy seems happy, how the fuck would you act if you were the highest paid actor in hollywood, not to mention one of the better looking males in north america, with a HUGE blockbuster movie comming out that is directed by steven spielberg and you are the lead and! your getting it on with katie holmes. i tell you what man hes fuckin pumped, u can call him a freak all u want but honestly, anyone of you take his position, lets see how you would react if you dont pass out from the intense slap in teh face fame has hit you with first… just put urself in his shoes
Oh I couldn’t possibly put myself in his shoes while he’s jumping around like a monkey on crack. I guess if I just took some $cientology vitamins I could buy into the whole idea that he’s the master of the universe and he really really cares.
I don’t know if anyone mentioned this already, as I was unable to read every last post, but perhaps Tom’s lunacy results from his SUPPRESSED HOMOSEXUALITY!!! Make no mistake, Tom Cruise is totally gay. He will make Katie his beard (like so many others before her), marry her, and divorce her at some point in the future.
Tom Cruise isn’t gay. If he was, the rest of us would have killed him by now. Why hasn’t this man been neutered??
I think the song “Freakazoid” should be his personal soundtrack.
I don’t know what you mean by “the rest of us would have killed him by now.” I find that comment more than a little disturbing.
But really, he’s gay. He’s requested to have sex with people I KNOW. Gay male people.
Just to clarify, that was meant as a joke. I am a gay male, and I was in no way threatening gays.
Yeah, right. I’m sure Tom calls all your friends at home.
you are all a bunch of narrow minded, mind-numbed robots. anything out of the the ordinary and have a fit. lame lame lame. go back to your the churches, fraterity and sorority houses that you came from.
you are all a bunch of narrow minded robots. anything out of the the ordinary and you have a fit. lame lame lame. you think tom has been brain washed? well he probably has, but take a look at yourselves.
This forum is sad. I’m not a huge fan of Tom Cruise or Scientology. I know a bit about Scientology and this board is a manifestation described by L.Ron Hubbard in Scientology text. People always want to pull down someone who is in a position of apparent power. The funny thing is Tom C. is more successful than anyone who wrote on this forum and that’s by any standards. And oh ya sorry guys he also gets some pretty hot ladies. And what is he saying that’s so horrible? He’s madly in love. He wants to share his happiness. He doesn’t like people always seeking a magic pill every time they have some little ass ache. He’s saying he wants to help people and that he cares. Oh my God what a horrible person. What insanity to have the desire to lift people up, help them to get off drugs and encourage them to live a better life. As far as Scieintology being a cult I don’t know about that but I would say that at the moment the behavior of the so called main stream religions is more radical and excessive than anything I’ve ever heard about Scientology. And let us not forget the Crusades or the little details in the Bible that condone everything from slavery to incest and murder. The real insanity is that people can’t tolerate any other person being truly happy. People are basically coming from the viewpoint that it’s okay to be successful just don’t be more successful than me. People on this board are probably big fans of Donald Trump someone who would be homeless if he didn’t file bankruptcy twice and pull money out from his casinos to finance his real estate business. Here’s a guy that screwed millions of shareholders not once but twice and people not only love and respect him he ends up getting his own TV show. Now that’s insanity!
Tom Cruise can fuck himself and his religion into a cocked hat.
but for those of us who DO know a fair amount about Scientology, it has nothing to do with whether Tom is Gay or honestly happy or seemingly more “successful” then we are…it’s about how destructive his preaching is and will be for so many people who believe the hype, losing so much more then whats in their wallet…
So Tom’s a little strange, who cares? We all do weird shit, but most of us don’t have to have the entire world watching us do it, and then making petty, bullshit comments about it on the internet. If he’s happy and he’s not hurting anyone, get over it!
The Church is going to have to put Tom on the E-meter’s tin cans again for more reauditing to squash the reactive mind and make him clear again.
Apparently, Tom caught some space cooties while on the set of War of the Worlds and one of the Body Thetans got stuck where the sun doesn’t shine. Apparentlty the BT started wiggling around when Tom was on “Oprah”, which is what made him jump around.
Body Thetans(BT’s) – the ghosts of dead space aliens who were vaporized with nuclear bombs next to volcanoes on Earth 75 million years ago by the evil Galactic overlord, Xenu. The aliens were frozen in alcohol and gylcol then brought to Earth by Xenu on space ships shaped like DC-8 airplanes according to Scientology’s founder, L. Ron Hubbard.

Actually, “whatever,” he IS hurting people. And that’s where the problem lies. By spreading frighteningly destructive lies about psychiatric medication, he IS hurting people. The general public believes everything that the media tells them. When Tom Cruise disparages Brooke Shields for using medication in addition to therapy to help her through a serious clinical disease, and in turn, people like “sad so sad” say things like “taking magic pills when you have an ass ache” you see the destruction that his comments can have. He has said that there is no proof of chemical defiencies in the body when someone is mentally ill — this is blatantly untrue. He knows nothing about what he’s saying and is just spouting the lies that have been fed to him.
And for whoever said that it was okay for Bush to make religious comments but not Tom Cruise — it’s NOT okay for Bush to make religious comments either! Separation of church and state, remember?
To Corinna –
sorry i’m just responding, but does he not look like Ethan Hawke in that photo/clip? I can see it.
What a complete asshole. I have never disliked someone so much after so short of a time period.
I think Tom is not only shallow and ignorant to make such statements about analytic views..He is not a doctor and has hardly been a husband. I think his shooting blanks have made him angry and confused. When he is able to give birth to a baby and go through such extreme hormonal changes, and for that’s worth even have the sperm to be able to create a child should he give a view…Get a hold of yourself…I’ve been with older men like him..that think their views are the ends and means..to create the woman they want to persuade their way is the right way…Well girl, if you know like I know…run like hell.
I don’t know who is going to you for advice…stick to being an actor…your barely good in that department…I will never watch a Cruz movie again…I have nothing but disrespect for saying that about Brooke…I met her..twice..a wonderful woman..with soul and integrity..she had the balls to admit her downfalls…and I think he could learn a lot from her….
Like Mimi said..he’s been shooting blanks for years…Get over it!
YOU BET I AM… dude is out of control. Anyone ever see when he was on Leno ro Letterman and did all the karate chops actions? That was when I realized he was out of his mind.
I’d take Scientology any day over Billy Bush.
He’s in love alright, with the big black boy I saw him with in a back corner of Brandi’s on Hornby in Vancouver a couple of years ago…everytime I see him denying his homosexuality it makes me wanna puke…he’s got enough financial security that he would never have to worry about working again and he could be himself….
Anyone that is a born again Christian signing this board remember, we don’t throw stones, and we are not supposed to judge anyone. All we can do is pray for him. Maybe someday he will see the light and feel what it is like letting God “The Father”, Jesus, “The Son and Holy Spirit,” guide his life. He will definately be in my prayers.
God Bless You Mind, Heart and Soul
Right. I’m sure all the born again Christians would withhold their stone throwing and judgements if they found out that Tom Cruise was a homo. They’re practising similar restraint with the same-sex marriage issue.
People are giving him a hard time. Just because a person seems intense, doesn’t mean they are “crazy”. People today think everything is a disorder. The drug companies have succeeded in brainwashing the masses by their commercials. How come judging isn’t concidered a disorder?
Talk psychiatry, for anyone who has been paying attention in the past five years, is going the way of the dinosaur, along with much of what Freud propagandized.
That said, SSRIs such as Paxil are groundbreaking therapeutic modalities for treating depression which literally rescue people from the abyss, and with a minimun of side-effects.
SSRIs are based upon the reuptake of our body’s own serotonin, a natural neurotransmitter–they simple enable it to stay at the nerve synapse for a longer period of time. The results have been far-flung and dramatic.
THIS is good science, Tom. Scientology is NOT good science. It does not withstand the rigorous tests of scientific debate for even a nanosecond.
When he was scraping by as an author of sci-fi books in NY’s Greenwich Village in 1949, L. Ron Hubbard confided in his friends that “if a smart man really wanted to make a lot of money today, he would invent a religion, and then make himself the leader.” -reporter Bill Kurtis; excerpted from the Arts & Entertainment Networks two-hour Biography episode profiling L. Ron Hubbard, 2002.
If Tom is gay and living a lie, I am sorry for him. Anybody can change direction, however, and choose to live honestly.
As things stand now, I don’t know whether he deserves my sympathy.
What I DO know is that he is spreading lies about psychiatry that are designed to help Scientology and which will, if people believe him, prevent people from getting the psychiatric help they need. Yes, that means some people suffering from Depression and Bipolar Disorder will commit suicide in their despair, ant their deaths will be on the heads of the Scientology Church.
Years ago, I learned that Scientologists would sucker kids into revealing their parents’ addresses and phone numbers by various tricks, and then bombard the parent and kids with propaganda by mail, sometimes six and seven pieces of mail PER DAY, trying to get them to join, paying thousands of dollars for each of dozens of classes, all to attain the never-defined goal called “Clear.” They were totally fanatical. Nothing could make them stop, not even the US Post Office.
To me, Tom Cruise is now just another glassy-eyed fanatic. Who does Tom remind me of? Do you remember Jim Jones? That’s who.
Tom Cruise is obviously not well mentally. His actions on Oprah were very characteristic of bipolar behavior. I hope Katie does RUN! Tom Cruise chose to go out with a 26 year old who used to fantasize about him because many women in their twenties are still very people pleasing and moldable. A woman in her thirties or older would not convert. Take Tom Cruise, his star power, his looks and his claim of his love for a girl he’s known less than 2 months…of course Katie is going to fall for it. Behind closed doors I am sure very soon she’ll find a controlling, disturbed freak. Katie RUN!!
I’m real surpriced to the massive amount of bigotry here.
1. So what if hes gay ot bi or whatever. If he claims to be wildly in love with a woman, who are you to condemn him?
2. Yeah the CoS craves cash while pretending not to. So do all the cults including catholisism, communism, islam and psychiatry. However they dont kill people who leave the cult as some ‘real religions’ do. But CoS is small and quite powerless so it’s a real nice target for all little hobby crusaders.
3. Yeah Tom behaves in a non-conventional way. Does that scare you?
If he were a black male I don’t think you would be casting all those spells.
Scar, you think Psychiatry is a cult? Only Scientologists, who have blindly swallowed the “church” ‘s propaganda about psychiatry, think this way.
I’ve noticed you taken to calling people who don’t agree with you “bigots”. Scientologists use that word a lot.
Except for the fact that you refer to Scientology as “small and quite powerless”, you sound exactly like a Scientologist. But then, as Scientologists love to play victim to make other people look bad it’s really not that out of line.
Come clean, Scar. Admit what you are.
Today is Sunday, June 5…I am a bit late to the game here…I have searched & searched for a clip of the “Tom on Oprah” show–it appears to be deleted EVERYWHERE!
…tvgasm etc ….all GONE….can someone send me a link so I can see this freak show for myself?
Thank you!

Personally, I think that Tom Cruise is probably extremely intelligent and just likes screwing with people’s minds. I think he gets some type of sick pleasure from making people think he’s a nice guy but inside evil is brewing. Just a thought but just look at him! There is no way I would ever take him seriously or trust anything he says/does. Think anti-christ but not that nutty.
Hey Hermie,
Not me, one of my best friends happens to be a homosexual. God made him too. I am a woman he is a man (homo)we are friends. Jesus does not heal well people, but those who are sick. I am an individual Christian/person not lumped with the masses. May God bless all of you.
I was watching a show today and I gather they have came out with a pill to cure homosexuality. Did anyone else see it?
Hey Beverly,
I have friends who happen to be born again Christians. They love gay people but they also think we’re going to hell. I would call that a contradiction.
God is a lesbian and she blesses you too,
Hermie
there is something very pathological going on with all of this, clearly a case of “I think she doth protest to much”. Most celebrities want more privacy when they start a relationship they really care about, not the opposite, and it doesn’t even make sense in superstar terms – look at how everyone wants to know what happening with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (if you want to look, you try to be as private as possible.)
Cruise is having a meltdown but what’s scary is we give these people so much power and for what, because they are attractive or have talent? I’ve always felt there was something creepy going on and now its confirmed. While I agree with him that we are overmedicated, he should know better, (especially with the number of female fans!) than to dare go after a woman who is writing about her experience with depression and childbirth. How much more sacred can you get? This is the kind of thing that Pat Kingsley would have hogtied him to keep him from saying but now that his scientologist sister is working for him, there is no buffer (shades of Michael.)
For me the scariest thing in a way was watching him talk to Oprah, a black woman about his two children of color and the fact that they have never talked about discrimination and prejudice. I have to believe it’s come up at least once, but from what Cruise seems to be saying, if his kids come home crying from dealing with racism, he’ll tell them to take some chewable vitamins.

sorry guys
I have never read in the bible that GOD is a lesbian.Common sense teaches you not to lay with your sister or brother or father or mother. That should tell you not to lay with the same sex. I don’t know where you are going when you die. That is between you and GOD, but I don’t think you have the right to say GOD is a lesbian when the bible says that it is a sin. I am not saying it’s a greater sin than a lot of other things but if you read the bible you will know he does not promote such behavior.
I think homosexuality is a sin, the bible says so, but not to judge those people because thats god’s job. Alot of people twist things to suit their lifestyle so thet don’t feel guilty. I agree with tom on anti-depressants though. Example: just because you have a hyper kid who doesn’t pay attention in school and fidgits alot doesn’t mean, Oh!! He must be ADD, lets put him on ridalin!! Please, give him a behavior lesson or a whoopin. People can get depressed too but a pill is not a cure. People have existed thousands of years w/o pills just fine!! I think a good support system of friends and family and some life changes will get you out of a slump. People expect happiness to fall in their lap. Well if I sat around all day in self pity mode a pill might cheer me up to!! Heck, there is a pill for everything. I bet pharmacuetical companies think up illness to make a buck and people fall for it. Everyone I know is on xanax, zoloft, or whatever. Whaah, deal with your problems for once! Depression a disease…. just anothe excuse to sell a pill ! Im sure Im pissing off alot of people out there but think about it! Take some vitamins!!!!
OMG! The guy is a total freak. I’ve lost all respect for the man. I won’t spend another dime on one of his movies.
Tom Cruise + Mid-life Crisis + A whole lotta ecstacy & viagra = A middle aged ping pong ball on the rebound…
hes still hot<3
To Hermie — please don’t lump all Christians in with the fanatics who would condemn everyone not like them. The Bible says lots of things are sins, but there are none of us who haven’t sinned, and we are all forgiven if we choose to be. Too many people are forgetting the last part —thousands of them voted for Bush.
To Jennifer — I think you were trying to defend TC when talking about judging (?) Wasn’t he judging all of us poor people with pathetic lives?
Tom Cruise is a pedophile. As a mother, I hope Katie enjoys her apartment, her youth, dates a lot and comes into herself as a woman before she is seduced by a man who is old enough to know better. Katie, marriage is wonderful – date your age or your maturity level and marry with the intent that it is for the rest of your life. Older men seem mature but if they are shallow enough to be attracted to a beautiful face and someone 20 yrs their junior, shouldn’t they be suspect????? Good luck.
You know, this is probably all a publicity stunt and I am ashamed to say that I fell for it. Let them live their own lives. Who the hell cares. They are stupid movie stars and most barely have a high school education. Off to read a book….
TOM needs more help that any shrink can give him and he is nothing but a short arsed midget with an ego the size of new york, come down to earth and leave your cult and stop giving away ya money
Tom Cruise has gone way over the top. I used to respect him as an artist, now he’s just a loud mouth who’s trying to shove his beliefs down peoples throats. How ’bout this Tom? Didn’t God gives us the brains to learn how the human body works, and to utilize those skills. Luke after all was a physician. So please be quiet about your beliefs, after all they are YOUR beliefs, and not everyone is going to believe the same things that you do. This world would be really boring if everyone thought alike. Wouldn’t it? Also we know you’re in love so we don’t have to hear about it all the time, so chill man. You acting like a teen-ager that just discovered girls for crying out loud. I think we are all glad your happy, but come on man…….
I have just read all the posts on this subject. No one seems to have put this subject into its proper perspective.
Take a moment and “THINK”. The entertainment industry has only one job…to entertain.
All these actors, actresses, sports figures, etc are nothing more than “court jesters”. In the old days
(middle ages) court jesters were not paid…people just threw food at them
to encourage their antics. In todays world we just throw money at them.
I just hope that we will soon reach the saturation point and say no more!!!
Tom, As an Aussie who normally would not encourage divorce, I would like to say I thought you were (not so) pretty from the days of risky business but when you made the decision to marry Nicole I started to think maybe you were not such a dork, but mate our little Nicole doesn’t realise how luckily she was to escape from you. Grow up boy and come live in the real world. Who knows maybe one day you will grow up.
HE IS ON DRUGS…PLAIN AND SIMPLE…EITHER THAT OR HE HAS A TOTAL MIND MELTDOWN…POOR KATEY..I FEEL SORRY FOR TO BE SO GULLIBLE AND BE SUCKED IN BY SUCH A FAKE..COME ON NICOLE KIDMAN DID NOT WANT HIM ANYMORE SOMETHING HAD TO BE WRONG WITH HIM..AND HE HAS ALREADY PROVED IT TO THE WORLD!!!
Tom , you are a brilliant actor but what is going on in your head? Just be yourself and don’t worry what other people think. As for the Scientology – just get out!!! Save yourself. Who are you serving and does that person or persons sincerely care about anyone but themselves?
Tom Cruise is IGNORANT and dangerous in terms of his disemination of misinformation about psychiatric medications and recovery from addictions. On the other hand he is an irresistable freak show! I can’t get enough of his bizarre behavior. It is unbelieveable and I can’t wait to see what hideous thing he will do next! He is a mind controlled robot and he looks as if he is inches from a full blown manic episode. Sad…but bring it on!
I do believe Tom and Katie’s relationship is a bit weird, but I think it’s WAY over the top to call him a “pedophile” as one individual on this page did. Katie is, what, 26 years old? And that causes the word “pedophile” to pop into your head? Give me a break.
I’m with Liz, even though I think he’s an ignorant freak, the spectacle is hard to resist. I’m so glad that people are going to find out what a fraud $cientology is.
TO: Tom Cruise
If you really are such a “caring” individual and “care” about all of us out here – than why aren’t you “out here” helping. Your chosen profession is NOT one of helping individuals – so UNTIL IT IS – leave the “helping” to the REAL medical professionals who have dedicated their REAL LIVES to HELPING individuals of ALL race, size and genders!!!

And he certainly doesn’t mind discrediting post partem as a real problem. Where the hell is his uterus?

http://www.xenu.net – learn the truth about Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard
Those of you in favor of gay marriage, where do you draw the line? Should it be legal for parents to marry their children? For siblings to marry one another? For marriages to consist of three, four, or more spouses? If it’s all relative, and there are no absolutes, then anything goes, doesn’t it?
If, on the other hand, you agree that there are absolutes (which as a human being created by God, you do – and that inner sense of being able to distinguish right from wrong is in fact how God created us), then that begins to illuminate the question of what are these boundaries and distinctions? Where do they come from? Are they arbitrarily created by ourselves – each individual can create his or her own moral world, just as valid as the next person’s moral world – or are there universal laws which transcend us all?
Thank you for reading my post; I hope a seed may have been planted which may one day bear fruit.
And to those of you in whom my post has aroused hostility – God bless you.
Signed,
A Believer
wow, is our society so funked up that when someone does confess words of concern and caring for the human race. that its concidered weird and psyco… and that “he” needs meds.Maybe if there were more people with Toms views, this world wouldnt be so hateful and cruel. Katie snatch him up and love him deep, the world needs more people like Tom..
I haven’t been paying attention to this thread for a long time, but I would like to say that we don’t like bigots on our boards. This is not a thread to discuss the merits or lack thereof of homosexuality, gay marriage, or religious fundamentalism.
If you want to post saying a prayer for Tom, that’s OK, but you can’t use this way to preach against one lifestyle or promote another.
I am sad that when a person is so full of emotion like Tom Cruise is…that he can’t fully express it without people thinking he’s “weird”. I was in the airport the other day watching a little girl playing—and she had NO inhibitions as she sang and danced around. It’s too bad that when we become “adults” that we resort to either closing off our emotions naturally or turning to drugs to do it for us—because eventually that is what happens when you mess up your natural body chemistry with Drugs. By the way, has anybody checked the stats on how many deaths occur a year with misdiagnosed medication drug prescriptions? It’s staggaring—that is where the attention should be—not on criticizing someone’s pure emotions.
He may get “beamed up” soon!
Please-Scotty!
Not that I want to start anything of course. But can Moolah please go away now.
Has anyone noticed that Access Hollywood only ever speaks about Scientology in the positive? I mean, if that show’s not produced by Scientologists, I’ll eat my hat.
Tom Cruise is seriously sick!!! I used to be a huge fan, but this guy is a freak!!! KATIE, RUN FAST!! Nicole, take the children and get them deprogrammed, keep them away from their wacko father until he gets real help from a licensed professional!!! BRAVO BROOKE!! You are awesome for seeing you had a problem and had the guts to get help. Don’t let this idiot cult member bother you!
Cruise needs serious therapy. I mean this dude is totally fucked up. He needs to smoke some herb or whatever. Does anyone with two brain cells think he is serious about any woman.
Oh Tom, Tom, Tom. Really honey. Take the drugs. The drugs are good. Get a grip, I beg you. The only solace is that you are making MILLIONS of people laugh their asses off at your freak-a-zoid antics.
to the person who wrote this…
You know, this is probably all a publicity stunt and I am ashamed to say that I fell for it. Let them live their own lives. Who the hell cares. They are stupid movie stars and most barely have a high school education. Off to read a book….

You are a complete moron! Alot of actors are very intelligent. I mean, they also work doing what they want and getting paid buckloads of cash for it… yeah, they must be stupid. Also, I ONLY have a high school education but I have an IQ of 134 and own my own buisness so I guess us high school educated folk are’nt all that stupid! Jackass!
This is wildly funny, you guys (and gals)! I love it. If only TC was actually reading any of this….great pithy comments from ya’ll. My 2 cents worth: A few of you are seriously deluded about the causes of depression and how it can be “cured.” That’s because you have never been affected by real, clinical depression. It’s not an “ass ache” or a “just get over it” kind of problem; study up on some real larn’in and speak from an educated viewpoint. (OK, #167, Miss–Waaah–kelly? Yeah right, “self-pity mode” crap beliefs are what caused people to commit suicide or be locked up for all those happy thousands of pill-free years…do you smack the hell out of your kids for fidgeting in school, too?) As for Mr. Cruise, well, this forum has opened my eyes to his bi-polar manic behavior…you spotted it! He’s a tad superficial and insincere, too (his agent/publicist/whatever must have had a COW watching those interviews). I just hope he’s CLEAR on just how stupid he looks now. Brooke, care to comment?
#167 get a clue…
Depression is quickly becoming widespread, and before you jump all over that comment THINK! Many things go into depression-economy, your family, your self worth, etc etc.
A pill is not a cure all, but it does make a difference. If the chemicals in your brain aren’t firing off at the correct time then how is getting over it going to happen. Self pity has nothing to do with depression.
And until you experience depression to a degree that can make you a shell of your former self, BACK OFF. You have no idea how difficult it is.
Get over your antiquated thoughts and join the year 2005.
Also, #167, the reason people existed for so long without so many pills is because back then there were no diseases like AIDS, cancer, diabetes.
They had all natural remedies to cure them. Back then I’m sure people thought it was crazy to have to eat weeds.
And, if you aren’t judging people why are you talking about homosexuality being a sin? Doesn’t the Bible tell you not to cast stones?
He-he. That clip was tooooooooo funny. He was acting like an 8 year old. Sheesh !
Hey everyone- type in the words “John Travolta gay lawsuit” into google and you will see links to a very eye-opening story. Tom seems a little too excited about this whole Katie Holmes relationship…odd isn’t it that this relationship developed just as they both have major movies coming out? Perhaps Tom has issues with coming out also…
I’m not a fan of anti-depressant medications, either, as Prozac Nation obviously isn’t helping people recover collectively from anxiety and depression. SSRI drugs just keep people hooked into meds without allowing them to get to the core of what’s wrong.
This doesn’t go for seriously chemically imbalanced people that suffer from bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.
Check out “The Heart of Addiction” by Harvard Medical School’s Dr. Lance Dodes.
That said, I don’t think cultish programs are a good replacement for SSRIs, either.
Using mental tools to counter past conditioning in order to heal from traumas is one thing…..
…..Tom Cruise, et al. are quite another.
Tom could actually right this ship by getting a wookie as a side-kick in his next sci-fi film.
look what it did for Harrison Ford back in ’77.
Tom Cruise and Chewbacca in….
Minority Report II.
Spielberg and Lucas are (supposedly) friends anyway, so there wouldn’t be too much of a legal mishmosh over it.
Better yet, Tom Cruise should up his stock by re-recording that hit single “The Lebanon”, which was sang by The Human League back in ’84.
Tom Cruise is a nutcase. And it’s starting to show more and more every day.
Katie is an airhead to be falling for a cookie nutter like Tom. I wonder how long it will last. Once her fantasy smoke disappears she’ll realize that she’s with an insane person. And how arrogant is he to say “look at their lives” as if we all have to be rich and famous to be happy. What retard!
Tom, JUST TAKE YOUR CLOTHES OFF AND SHUT THE FUCK UP.
you guys are just bashin cause its the coool thing to go whats the problem, like that girl about her university fees
because he says he cares about people you think its his duty to pay for the money you dont make?
Tom Cruise is a sick motherf*cker. Trying to tell everyone that they should take vitamins is B.S., and in a way I’m glad all this is happening to people can see how messed up Scientology is. I say this as someone who survived a few years around scientologists, and they were the craziest people I’ve ever known. They have been completely brainwashed to believe false things about psychiatrists, while most of them don’t even have an extensive education they feel they are smarter than people who have doctorate degrees and are out there saving lives. I knew one scientologist who was a young kid, really bad A.D.D., was abused as a child, had violent outbursts, was a complete mess. I can’t help but think with sadness that he will never get the help he needs, because he’s been taught to believe it doesn’t exist for him. I will never be able to excuse Scientology for its ignorance and danger. Every scientologist I’ve ever known has been in need of some sort of professional help, and it’s because once people get that brainwashed they fall apart. It’s scary as hell. Let’s take a look at scientologists and see what scientology has done for them –
Tom Cruise – his career is currently being destroyed by his scientology rantings and false information about psychiatry
John Travolta – talked about how he could heal people with his bare hands, had all kinds of crazy scientologists trying to run things on the set of ‘battlefield earth’ – no one wants to work with this guy anymore
Lisa Marie Presley – once said psychiatrists were the downfall of humanity and that scientology cured her problems, yet she admits ‘say it loud, say it proud, i’m completely insane’ and admits to ongoing substance abuse problems, looks totally unhealthy and is clearly making some whack @$$ life decisions
Kirstie Ally – fat actress says it all. Have you seen what she’s turned into these days?
And as for all the other smaller fry scientologists, how often do they work? One by one, they all go insane.
Oh, and they all believe Columbine was the result of Ritalin. Yeah, the innatentive parents who didn’t know their children were building bombs in their basement shouldn’t have any responsibility, should they? It’s all such a joke. It’s scary, dangerous, and irresponsible. Tom Cruise is a jerk, he’s lame, he knows nothing about mental illness or the specifics of brain chemistry or medication, and he certainly isn’t fooling anyone with his fake Katie Holmes relationship.
I think what this proves that most actors are only as good, wise, holy os diplomatic as the publicists they pay to put words into their mouths to the press.
Why has our society lost sight of the fact that these actors are none other than the same creepy, attention starved theater kids from high school.
The acting profession is one in which a person gets acclaim and praise for successfully pretending to be someone else. Which would make me think that the best one’s are the most scatterbrained amd maleable to character transformation. You’re clearly good at deceiving people’s images. I would think that alone would qualify only the best of freaks with issues to join in.
Tommy is being the freak he always was. And he’s disillusioned enough to fire the only person who probably had anything to do with him looking sane and heroic in the past other than his parents.
That would be his publicist. Never forget the entourage, people. They’re all an actor has got when trying to appear normal.
Notice how he is more public (to say the least) about his “religion” lately?
Maybe L.Ron is grooming Tom to become the next Grand Dragon..er, I mean Cult Leader…er, I should say CEO…of The Church.
And how funny will it be when him and Katie divorce in two years?
you know $cientology claims to be able to “cure” homosexuality….hmmmm, and we’re wondering why Tom Cruise is so down with it???
By the way…he’s 42 and has had at least two wives…why no biological children?? hmmmmmm….
how did discussing TC’s current meltdown turn into a debate over gay marriage?
visit another forum to discuss your religous beliefs you “Christian/Catholic” bible freaks!
this site is for cutting up stupid celebs!
Hi people
I don’t think this thing with Katie is fake. Katie is on the rebound. She left a guy after 5 years. Tom needs a girl. Neither Penelope nor Nic was a scientologist. Both were Catholic. Katie is entering the world of scientology.
I feel Tom has given too much credit to Scientology. However, he does say that they cured him from dislexia. He just recently learned how to read in the past 10 years. He was going through hell. In addition, he has opened up two detox clinics in New York City to help people to breathe better etc after 9/11. He has seen what Scientology can do. I remember one reporter questioning him about the frauds in the early 80s and prior to that. Tom said it was a long time ago and the church has changed. Tom really believes in this shit. I guess it is better than believing in cocaine and marijuana.
I also read that Tom fired his publicist about a year ago. Now his family does his publicity. The church didn’t like his previous publicist. I think this is a big reason for the change. Not only that but if Jennifer Anniston is worth 80 million, then Tom must be worth at least double that. He is 42, he wants sex, he wants someone to share his religion, he is very glad that he can read and his hormones are probably a little fucked right now. He is willing to take more chances. The question is will the production companies want to take a chance on him anymore? But at this point, he won’t care, he can make his own movies. He is like Howard Hughes. Brilliant but fucked. I didn’t like the fact that he left Nic when she was pregnant. It goes against everything I have read about scientology. Scientology believes that as soon as a child is conceived (during the sex) that a child can hear what happens in the nearby vicinity. Maybe it wasn’t his child. Anyway, the child hears these things (arguments, gets squished during sex) and doesn’t know how to process the info. As adults we can dismiss alot of shit that happens to us. As a baby, we get scared. Auditing in Scientology is the process of finding the first traumatic incident and reliving it as an adult so that it no longer is traumatic. Once that first traumatic incident is cleared, a domino affect happens, and any other traumatic event just gets erased. I would be really interested in how Tom thought leaving Nic while she was pregnant would be beneficial to the sanity of the child? It really makes me believe that it wasn’t his child.
Somebody forgot their meds before talking with Oprah!
p.s. It is a good thing Nic had a miscarriage. Hopefully, she will be able to have children with someone more her type.
am I the only person that notices that Tom is on something?
Cruise is right — psychiatry is a fraud. Anyone who has the courage to question authority and think for themselves can find the evidence literally everywhere.
Psychiatry isn’t a fraud, and if it is then it’s a worthwhile one because it saves tons of lives every day. It certainly saves a lot more lives than Scientology, that makes their members so brainwashed they all need to see psychiatrists. Katie Holmes was not into Scientology before and if she is starting an interest now it’s because Scientologists try to get other people interested in the cult and Tom is using the mind control techniques he learned through the church to start influencing her. He did the same thing with Sophie Vergara who he dated post-Penelope who also started going to the church after getting with him. The church is going to do nothing but make them as crazy as Tom and it’s going to ruin their careers like it’s ruining his. As for the church curing him from dislexia and him not being able to read before, Tom did several films before he ever joined Scientology, so I hardly doubt that he couldn’t read before. I’m sure he had his own motivations for starting detox clinics in NYC and trying to get more people into the cult that way. The only way the church has changed is by lying more to it’s own members and victimizing them further. Any article or magazine that tries to expose the church of scientology gets the pants sued off of them, if the church was so legit then why are they so opposed to free speech? It doesn’t matter though, enough educational materials are out there on the internet for people to learn about the fraud, murders, and suicides that have resulted from Scientology and their various auditing and clear programs that remove invading aliens from the human body. Scientology isn’t even a church, they just call themselves that so they can be tax exempt and build properties on the most popular areas in Hollywood so they can attract tourists who don’t know anything about it and try to scam them. Scientology spreads lies to it’s members about the factual information pertaining to psychiatrists and it’s dangerous and irresponsible. The whole Tom/Katie thing is clearly fake. Not only do they both have movies coming out at the same time, but Tom has gone so far out of his way to prove to everyone that it is real that it’s the downfall of the situation and exactly what makes it seem fake to people. No one acts like that, and on top of that no one marries someone after dating them a month. Tom’s done a great job making an @$$ of himself in front of the world and showing people what a crock his cult is.
I remember reading an article last year when he started coming out about COS. He said that in school the teachers wouldn’t help him read. They thought he was a retard. He credited the Church with teaching him to read.
I found this on the net:
Actor Tom Cruise, for example, has made it public that he learns lines not from scripts, but from recorded material. Thomas Edison and Walt Disney were among those who are thought to have overcome dyslexia to succeed.
I was in a book store and found a book on cults. It said that when the Jim Jones thing blew up, the COS purchased the 1800 toll free hotline of the Jim Jones cult. All the social workers were really ticked off. Here they are trying to help people straighten out their lives and the COS is just trying to program them another way.
i think there are problems with psychiatry. My father is mildly schizophrenic. He spent a month in a psych ward when I was 13. My mother was a really asshole. She would call me names and then deny it and say I was schizo. Thankfully, she has cancer now. She deserves it. I searched for 2-3 years for doctors who would agree with her. Not one of them thought I had a problem but not one of them helped me with the emotional abuse issues. After about 4 years of failing exams, an educational psychologist finally suggested I see a family violence specialist. it worked. I have 13 letters after my name. One for each year of my life that my father didn’t appear crazy. The psychiatrists tend to be a bunch of overworked drug pushing idiots. I am sure there are a few exceptions.
It is not their fault. They just don’t have the right tools in their toolbox. They think by taking a pill that is going to make 10 years of hell go away. they could have prevented the situation by ensuring all family members of a schizophrenic are given counselling. I would rather go to the gym and sweat out the anger than take a pill.
I empathize with Tom but he has to understand that there is no evidence that his church is helping people. He needs to provide clinical evidence. The church has to start opening its doors to scrutiny. Making fun of Brooke Shields’ career is not cool. Success can’t be measured by money. Tom has two failed marriages, no biological children, a third failed relationship with Cruz. I wouldn’t throw stones in glass houses.
Cruise did really help the careers of Kidman and Cruz though. Maybe Katie just wants the money and fame also.
I say we Boycott World of Wars and go see Fantastic Four instead. Lets do it for Brooke Shields.
Dear Vampire LaCrack,
I would like nothing more than to get involved in your cult…I mean, CHURCH! HOWEVER, from what I understand, becoming “involved” requires me to have some money in my bank account. This is where I’m running into trouble. A) I do not even have a bank account at this time due to the fact that the IRS has put a lean on it for back taxes. B) The reason that I owe back taxes and have a lean on my account is because my husband is a schizophrenic who requires REAL medication that costs us about $700 a month. Without this medication, he kind of slips off his rocker a little bit. Almost as badly as you did during your recent appearence on Oprah.
I know that $700 isn’t shit to you. Hell, the toilet paper that you wipe your ass on probably cost more! Most of us are not as blessed when it comes to the amount of money that we make. Thank God (or Xenu, as in your case!) we have people like you to remind us that there is a shit load of money to be made out there, and that we, too, can share in the wealth… With the right belief system!
Anyway, I was wondering, since you care so much about ME, if you can put your money where your mouth is, and send me some money! That way,I can begin odering my CO$ text books & get my class scheduling. I promise not to use any of that money to pay off my past bills. I won’t even shell out the $8.50 to see War of the Worlds… Not that I was going to, anyway!
There are several things going on here.
First of all, in my opinion balance is the most important thing in life, mental as well as physical. It keeps things in perspective and makes it easier for us to have good judgment and make good choices. In addition, it helps us live in our world with a sense of awareness and contentment and maybe even happiness.
Of course we’re judging TC as HE has judged psychiatry, etc. This is what makes the world go round. (and okay he did sound like a bit of a lunatic)I would be nice to live in a non-judging world all with accepting each other with open arms, but that’s just not the human race.
We are all entitled to have our own opinions and express them. This has enriched our culture throughout generations.I think the healthiest thing to do, is attempt to do things in moderation, with that being said, more extreme expression of beliefs and opinions have carved this world for what it is today, for the better or worse.
And, it is up to us to be responsible as to how we express ourselves via actions and verbal expression.
There is power in fame and therefore people in the public eye have even more responsibility to be thoughtful of what they say and do.
In any event, one should at least educate themselves before forming an opinion and remembering that we are all bias by nature, as this opinion will certainly be influenced by our own experiences from our own lives.
These opinions or judgments may be extremely passionate for some people and one needs to ask why. A passionate or excessive response to something may come from somewhere within you. Such as a response from a past experience that causes fear, something subconscious, who knows.
The passionate response about mental health, in Cruises case, I say, could be from a result of fear of looking inside himself for what he may find. Or there may be something else going on.
He seems to becoming more extreme lately, thereby leaving what I believe is the healthier “balance” that’s so important for maintaining good mental health. No. I’m not downing skydivers or other high risk activities that take place in sports for example, however, understanding the risks and maintaining the other avenues in your life in a healthy space is important, such as getting enough sleep, are you doing other types of high risk activities that are not like sports, such as driving to fast, getting irritable quickly? How are you relationships and can you answer the biggy, “am I content and satisfied and if not why and what plans do you have to change that?” Notice I did not say happy?” I know I’m over simplifing, but it’s all so complex.
For TC this may be the initiation of a hypomanic to manic phase. One will just have to wait and see. He is living a life, which seems to have taken him out of reality a bit. Almost as if he believes his own Master to the point of Grandiosity. Or he can just be a “jerk.”
Yet,it does seem similar, however, not nearly as pathological as Micheal Jackson’s story. This poor fellow has never really lived in anything but a fantasy world and has not only been allowed to do so but, seems to have been encouraged by those around him. No limits were ever set for him. That is indeed very pathological leads to mental illness just via the lacks of checks and balances.
We all need to have certain checks and balances.
Extreme behavior is just that, extreme. I’m not saying it’s wrong I’m just saying I think one needs to ask him/herself why is it happening, and is the result making you happy and content stable in your life and if not is it worth it?
Wealth, Power, Stardom whether it be as an actor or a sports star is extremely seductive and can alter thinking and judgment. But that’s not all it takes, a lot of other factors in our lives, genes play a role.
We have many examples of that in our global history. Some with true mental illness created wonderful contributions in music, arts etc., and others who with there deviant thinking destroyed and devistated.
Lastly,In my opinion there is a place for psychiatry, psychology, religion or what my be considered a cult, groups, friends family, relationships, etc.
I’m a psychiatrist and like in all other things they’er a good ones and not so good ones. And that’s just life.
I’ve been told I’m long winded, I guess this is no exception
BTW I have always enjoyed TC’s Movies.
I have to admit it will be a little harder to get me to see War Of the Worlds. I’m human.
What happened to his eyes??! They look completely empty and almost lifeless! Wonder if it’s drugs, cult-brainwash or if he has serious psychological problems…Or a combo…Man, he’s a sad wreck.
Some people walk dangerously close to the edge of sanity. Tom, unfortunately, has taken the plunge into the deepest end of the pool.
Psychiatry is not a science, it is a religion. And a quite bizarre one. Statistically, seeing a psychiatrist is not quite as effective as visiting a shaman in Borneo to get the demons removed. Intelligence goes down. Happiness goes down. If they bother to take a personality profile before and after, the traits–such as responsibility, communication, critical–all take dives. If you look for the cause of our failing education system, our adult illiteracy problem, you will find psychiatry there. Seek out the roots of the Nazi holocaust, there stands psychiatry. Our drug problem? Look if you dare. Racial cleansing? You’ll find psychiatry. It is the religion of hopelessness. They can’t make you better, but they can make you numb.
As for Scientology, the statistics speak for themselves. Around eighty percent of Narconon graduates never return to drugs. That is about four times the success rate of any other drug program in the world. Applied Scholastics, another Scientology program, routinely and successfully teaches children who would otherwise be sidelined on psychiatric drugs. Schools using this technology exclusively graduate children with excellent educations–educations that test well enough to place these children in any college in this country, and do so in eight or ten years for a K to 12 education. I have been an educator professionally in public education. I have seen the results. An educator coming along with the typical psychiatrically tainted methods found in most schools today labels children as defective who actually suffer only from poor education. The Criminon program is equally as successful. And the stories are equally dramatic. How about a prison riot quelled by the Criminon graduates, who put the rioters back in their cells and returned the prison to the guards? Just one story out of countless hundreds of thousands.
All of this is aside to the direct benefit Scientology brings to its many millions of practitioners. I realize a post to this site goes primarily to deaf ears. But there may be one of you out there who cares to look before you speak. And for the rest of you, just so you know, we grow stronger every day. Every day, more governments adopt our programs. Every day, we take people off drugs and put them back in life. Every day we increase IQ’s, increase abilities, increase happiness, increase sanity.
For those of you who have never looked, here are some words: “The aims of Scientology are a world without insanity, without criminals, without war, where the able can prosper and where Man is free to rise to greater heights.”
Here are some more: “The goal of Scientology is making the individual capable of living a better life in his own estimation and with his fellows.
“Although such a statement may seem simple and modest, the ramifications are immense and embody the dream of every religion: the attainment of complete and total rehabilitation of man’s native but long-obscured abilities that place him at knowing cause over matter, energy, space, time, form, thought and life.
“Yet even well before one reaches this state, the changes Scientology can bring are profound. Personal relationships can be repaired or revitalized. Personal goals can be realized and happiness restored. Where once there were doubts and inhibitions, there can be certainty and self-confidence. Where once there had been unhappiness and confusion, there can be joy and clarity.
“Those who have seen Scientology at work today cannot easily close their eyes to the results or fail to acknowledge that it truly does work. For Scientology has taught that a man is his own immortal soul. In Scientology, the riddle has been solved and the answer found simple.”
To the insane, these are fighting words. But I can tell you this, as a Scientologist, we will not be stopped. We succeed every day. And each day brings more success than the last.
Can you say that for yourself?
Okay, to the previous post that doesn’t have the balls to put his first and last name on your post.
You are sounding like a whacked out hitler, so be careful!!
This is just more proof that you all (scientologists) NEED to be on medication. I can just see you all together in your so called chruch chanting “Cruise! Cruise!” OMG!!
oh, and of course “Money, Money!”
To ‘Another Scientologist’:
I’m sure you are confusing Psychiatry and Scientology and reversing them again. Despite the ‘Scien’ in scientology, it is not a science. If it were, it probably wouldn’t have to have that prefix just to convince people it was. Even the title itself is a deception. Psychiatry is a science, you can have EEG’s performed that will visually allow you to see the chemical makeup of the human mind, and psychiatrists go to school for years and have masters degrees, while you probably don’t even have an AA. SCIENTOLOGY is a religion, not a science. And even scientology isn’t much of a religion, even the ‘t’ in Scientology’s logo jumps out like a cross as if it has anything to do with that, so even that part of the name is deceptive.
I have to say that I speak from experience, and I spent years around Scientologists, and they were NOT the brightest bulbs in the package. In fact, I was stunned by the fact that they didn’t even seem to know the slightest things about most topics that would be common knowledge to anyone else. With scientology, intelligence most certainly drops because individuals become programmed and cease to think for themselves. I’d like to know where scientologists get their fake statistics from too. Hmm, the church? Of course. Who naturally has intentions of its own to manipulate you. I don’t dislike Scientologists, I feel bad for them. I know they are being victimized as much by Scientology as the victimization they try to pass to non-scientologists.
Where do you think all these profile tests came from? They are rooted in psychological principles and the same is true with mind control techniques, this wouldn’t be possible if L Ron didn’t know a think about psychology himself, so it’s funny he can blatantly rip off the teachings and use them for his own devices and then say it doesn’t work. The failing of the educational system is not a black-and-white issue, and I guess it’s easier to blame every societal problem on psychologists than to take into account other factors that disrupt education: government money being taken away from schools, SAT’s that aren’t tailor made for half the kids from different nationalities, two parents in the workplace, family breakups, to name a few. Just like Scientologists blame Ritalin for Columbine: nevermind the inattentive parents who didn’t know their kids were building bombs in the basement. Statistically (Actual statistics, not the statistic B.S. the church of scientology gives to its members) show that during Columbine, school violence had decreased over the past ten years prior to the incident by 50%, while psychiatric meds massively increased during those ten years. The fact that there is an opposite correlation shows that there is no connection to the two, and if anything the more the medications were used the less crime occured. Even after Columbine the statistics of school violence remained far lower than it had been in years, it’s just that the media hyped up Columbine for ratings and made it seem like something far more common than it was while it was an isolated incident. Also, if it’s true that Ritalin caused Columbine, than thousands of kids would be shooting up their schools everyday. Clearly scientologists don’t use logic to think, but I suppose they aren’t taught to be independent thinkers.>
Actually they can and they have. Speaking from personal experience, I am a thousand times happier and better off because of anti-depressants I took years ago, and I can feel the full range of emotions and feelings I could prior to taking them.
Scientologists also claim to have over 8 million members when there is only about 365,000. Therefore I wouldn’t trust any statistics coming out of the church of Scientology, they are deceptive and clearly misinforming Scientologists themselves. There are several effective drug treatment programs in the world, and a person doesn’t need to turn to Scientology to get off drugs. That’s substituting one problem for another. Also, if the drug rehab programs do have a success rate than it’s probably because they took their information and rehabilitative strategies from other programs that were non-scientology based and rooted in psychology that had worked before for other people, so it’s not like they created it on their own.
I’ll tell YOU a story. I know a kid who is in bad need of psychiatric care. He is physically violent, will go in and out of insanity before your eyes, has attention deficit disorder, and was abused. Scientology is CLEARLY not working for him, and he needs serious medical care as he admitted to me he wouldn’t live to be 20. Because he doesn’t believe the help he needs exists, he won’t get it. Another victim of Scientology who is going to die because of the dangerous teachings of the cult, and he attends classes all the time. The craziest people I’ve ever met and the most emotionally weak and in-need of psychiatric help have all been scientologists. Again, educational problems with kids in school are the result of many factors, psychiatry isn’t responsible for every problem in the world and constantly helps people every day. From my understanding, scientologists don’t even need degrees to teach kids or to teach any subject they want, they have programs that can allow them to teach anything without studying it. I certainly wouldn’t want my kid going to a school with a teacher who had never furthered their education.
There are NOT millions of practicioners, that is a Scientology lie. I did LOOK before I judged, I knew a lot of scientologists for years. And I’m writing based on what I saw, and I’m a highly intelligent person with a degree. Scientology actually doesn’t grow stronger everyday, actual statistics show that the church has weakened in numbers every year, and the drop out rate of people taking classes is extremely high. Governments are not adopting scientology programs and can’t even speak out against scientology since they will get sued, not the actions of a church that has nothing to hide. The bit about increasing sanity is a complete joke, you’ve got it backwards. I reiterate, the nuttiest people I’ve ever met were Scientologists. They all went crazy once they started taking those classes.
I looked, and what I saw was both pathetic and frightening. I’d like to see how Scientology proposes to have a world without criminals, seeing as they don’t believe in psychiatry and think it’s evil. Psychological principles have aided the FBI in criminal profiling and thousands of lives are saved everyday because of psychiatrics contributions not just to helping mentally ill individuals but capturing dangerous criminals and murderers and getting them off the streets. If we lived in a world without psychiatry and psychology, there wouldn’t be such an effective criminal justice system, and such a profound way of discovering the identity of these individuals and trying to rehabilitate sick people. Scientology simply adopts weak and broken people because they are easier to manipulate, tears them away from their family and friends and encourages them to stop their contacts and relations with non-scientologists to isolate them from their support systems to make them more vulnerable and more easily manipulated, and is what makes its members numb and void of sanity AND their paychecks.
His fellow Scientologists. After they make sure to isolate them from their family and friends and the people who loved and cared about them.
“Although such a statement may seem simple and modest, the ramifications are immense and embody the dream of every religion: the attainment of complete and total rehabilitation of man’s native but long-obscured abilities that place him at knowing cause over matter, energy, space, time, form, thought and life.
Why don’t you stop reading from a book and start thinking for yourself? Stop rehashing other people’s ideas and start thinking inventing your own.
You are right, Scientology can bring something profound. Something profoundly bad and dangerous. And as far as revitalizing relationships, I have seen so many Scientologists social networks torn apart and destroyed because of the cult. It damages relationships, doesn’t repair them. As far as restoring self-confidence, I have yet to meet a Scientologist whose confidence wasn’t completely destroyed and fabricated, their moral centers were gone. They were the most insecure flock I’ve ever seen, and it’s because they had successfully alienated their friends and family and weren’t thinking with their own braincells.
< "Those who have seen Scientology at work today cannot easily close their eyes to the results or fail to acknowledge that it truly does work. For Scientology has taught that a man is his own immortal soul. In Scientology, the riddle has been solved and the answer found simple."
To the insane, these are fighting words. But I can tell you this, as a Scientologist, we will not be stopped. We succeed every day. And each day brings more success than the last.
Can you say that for yourself?>
Aside from the already-stated fact that scientology isn’t more successful today than yesterday and is actually far less successful than it ever was, a lot of people can say for themselves that they have success. Success isn’t dependent on a person’s decision to be in a cult, nonetheless a dangerous and deceiving one. People can build their own goals, dreams, and success through their own hard work and soul-searching, and through seeking out their own answers and truths within themselves, with their own independent means thinking with their own individualistic driven minds. They don’t need to be programmed like robots spitting out quotes from books written by a science fiction author who claimed in the 40s “If you want to make money, don’t write a word for a penny, start your own religion.” I truly feel bad for Scientologists, they are being blatantly misinformed about just about every topic and are being ripped off financially and mentally. I hope that any scientologist out there that is feeling empty inside, is missing their family and friends, is sick and needs help that the church isn’t providing and solving, listens to those instincts and trusts them, and finds other answers and solutions to solving their problems, and returns to their social networks and the people that can love them and give them the help they truly need. You can gain strength and find your soul through many various sources, whether it be Buddhism or yoga or fun hobbies or time to yourself. Everyone deserves a chance to be happy, and if you’ve joined this cult and haven’t found what you are looking for don’t shell out tons of money that isn’t getting you anywhere. Go someplace else. Good luck.
It’s time to boycott Tom Cruise’s Movies because he is a real asshole. I think he has been through too programming.
I am so glad he’s decided to “come out”, along with all of his $cientology supporters. Now the world can see them for who they really are. This is fantastic. I’m not going to see any of his stupid movies, either. Even though the Co$ will still be sucking millions from their stupid celeb converts, I am not going to be a part of the masses contributing to his box office take. I notice he slams Brooke Shields for her career, but why not Jenna Elfman? She’s not exactly burning up the screen, and she’s one of the more vocal and moronic clams. Just some more of that selective memory/tunnel vision that he has. He’s an idiot.
Why cannot a grown man express his love? It looks like a lot of guys are covetous of and/or envious of Tom. It’s great when a guy is happy ans shows it. Katie seems to be happy too.
He should have kept his personal life out of the spot light. He keeps on making a fool out of himself. Everytime he goes on Oprah or any other show it’s all pretend and he just doesn’t pretend well. Reality and pretend just don’t mix.
Everyone knows he is gay, I was told by a moviestar that lives in Hollywood that Tom and Nicole are both gay they sign a contract stating that they would be married for 10 years. I haven’t figure out who Tom’s lover is yet, but Nicole’s is Naomi Watts. Penelope Cruz is gay, her lover is the star who played in Desperado. Katie Holmes was supposedly with Chris Klein and he is gay. I wonder if that means Katie is gay too. They lie to everyone, because they think it will ruin thier careers if they tell the truth. I think it will ruin the careers if they keep on lying to the public, I don’t think the public wants to be lied too. Just come out people. This will make a great movie one day.
I have also already looked and can truthfully judge for myself…I have studied CO$ both in and out of the cult for many years now…Any “church” that considers it mandatory to write “knowledge reports” about their friends when they ask questions etc. must be questionable in itself…In their code of ethics, in order to get out of what is called, “liability” , one must “regardless of personal safety, deliver an effective blow against the enemy”…does this sound peaceful or sane? The joke is that the higher levels people pay so much for are freely available on the internet…its all out here, and for free! And so much for promising control of all matter, energy, space and time once you reach the higher levels (they call it MEST) – (which can’t be possible, cos’ if this were true I wouldn’t be writing this as you would have already clicked all critic’s out of existence!) oh, and I guess one wants to die of bone cancer when you reach OT8? (the highest level) look ‘em up…so many people have died, and in not such pleasant ways!!! oh, and what about that thing that you can change your physical appearance once in the higher levels? So, I guess Kirstie Alley wants to be that big, along with a robust John Travolta? Oops!!! These people are so tied to the church that even if they want to get out, they can’t because the church practices what’s called, “overts and with -holds” where as you progress in the levels, you confide in them all of your seeming “sins” and they happily write all this down in your folder and bring it on out if you ever try to leave…mmm, sound’s like fun!!!! This is not sanity…They put some interesting stuff in the lower levels with low prices and as you progress it gets odder and odder and more pricey, until you are just another robot spouting out LRH quotes and using their vocabulary…I have personally worked and had plenty of time with high level scientologists and I did this specifically to see if I wanted what they had…they put out a glossy veneer, but look deeply enough or spend enough time, and the cracks really, really start to show…creepy! All I say is, do your homework, there is so much info out here…this is a sticky slope…oh, and by the way folks, since this message board is getting quite interesting, you will find that there may be some spamming going on (like the last one) – this is a tactic used by scientologists to try to close something that is giving too much info out – down…The truth is out here.
what is it about Oprah that her favorite people all seem to be Scientologists? Tom, John, Kirstie?
to fycin; re bush’s right to profess his religion (or Tom’s for that matter) … Better go back to high school history class and re-read the Constitution — it doesn’t say anything about separation of church and state: The Bill of Rights provides for Freedom OF Religion. (Yes that’s *OF* not *FROM* … that means individual has the right to practice his religion and speak of his religion, and also prevents him from forcing his religion upon another … and niether Bush nor Cruise are forcing their religions on anyone. A democracy assumes (scary thought) that each individual will have the wisdom and inclination to learn for himself and make choices for himself.)
this_guy_is_so_fucked_up._I feel_so_sorry_for_Holmes._She_must_be_a_mite_dafter_than_I_thought!_She’ll_figure_it_out_after_he_dumps_her_in_5_LOL._Psychiatry_is_a_hoax_??_LOL_WHAT_A_FUCKING_MORON._Can’t_wait_until_the_fishbowl_cracks.!!!
Just a suggestion,
1.Go to sunday school.
2.Quit Amway.
On how Scientology works:
Hubbard: The explanation is sort of long and complicated. The basic rationale is that there are some powers in this universe that are pretty strong. As an example, Hitler was involved in the same black magic and the same occult practices that my father was. The identical ones. Which, as I have said, stem clear back to before Egyptian times. It’s a very secret thing. Very powerful and very workable and very dangerous. Brainwashing is nothing compared to it. The proper term would be “soul cracking.” It’s like cracking open the soul, which then opens various doors to the power that exists, the satanic and demonic powers. Simply put, it’s like a tunnel or an avenue or a doorway. Pulling that power into yourself through another person –and using women, especially — is incredibly insidious. It makes Dr. Fu Manchu look like a kindergarten student. It is the ultimate vampirism, the ultimate mine-fuck, instead of going for blood, you’re going for their soul. And you take drugs in order to reach that state where you can, quite literally, like a psychic hammer, break their soul, and pull the power through. He designed his Scientology Operating Thetan techniques to do the same thing. But, of course, it takes a couple of hundred hours of auditing and megathousands of dollars for the privilege of having your head turned into a glass Humpty Dumpty –shattered into a million pieces. It may sound like incredible gibberish, but it made my father a fortune.
L is not for LOVE
loser, lost the plot, wierdo scientologist, the 2nd most dangerous man in America
I know that this comment might make a few people upset; but. Tom Cruise is nothing, but a youth sucking Vampire, draining every young starlet he can get his hands on to wrinkles and dust.
First there the other chicks, then he got married, then divorced, then married again to Kidman and then ten years later after everyone was soo happy for them, “we grew apart?”
What does he think is going to happen if Katie’s career stays big? Not the same thing that happened with Nicole?
Then, there was the junk with Cruz. Sucking her from a beautiful cute princess to a wrinkly tired old lady. He’s going to do the same thing with Katie. In ten years they’re gonna be saying, how they grew apart and that it wasn’t in the stars for them. I don’t think the man knows what love is and he has lost any sense of reality.
He is perminently in character now. A little cop, a little lawyer, and a little secret agent; is in every line that comes out of his mouth, only there isn’t any film recording.
most people who criticize psychiatry are in desparate need of it themselves – and tommy boy – YOU QUALIFY!
Yes, it is not a perfect science and no profession is above those who abuse their power – however, if I have mental illness- scientology is the LAST place I’ll be turning tooooooooooo – you freaky freaky boy.
SAD.
*note to Tom*
Have you talked with Michael Jackson about helping him and his kids?
With all of his resources and money and deep caring, funny I don’t see Tom out there in Africa, or Tsunami or in the China orphanges or….oh nevermmind.
Ultimately it is a question if you can tolerate the idea of two beautiful people being happy. I am glad when I see Tom and Katie so much in love. They are happy, both of them. Envy is a mortal sin. Begrudging Tom and Katie their happiness is just mean and says a lot about the person doing that. Fortunately both Tom and Katie are too strong to be affected even minimally. I wish these two good people Godspeed.
I have no problem with people being happy. I do have a problem with people using their “super heterosexual love of the century” to get publicity for themselves, their stupid movies, and their dangerous cult.
I also have a problem with them using it to gain attention so they can spout off their misinformed, pseudo-scientific opinions and insult people who genuinely help others.
I have a problem with those who press others to join a cult that not only warps your mind, but also takes all your money. I have a problem with those who claim to “care”, but only if everyone agrees with them. If not, those others are classified as “bigots”.
After 9/11, I was incapable of returning to work in Lower Manhattan because of anxiety. Caring psychiatrists subscribed Paxil and I regained my livelihood. How dare this jerk say he cares. He is dangerous, ignorant, and I will never pay to see another movie of his. Lucky Nicole.
To Maria #248: I don’t think Tom has any other reason for showing his love than to show his love. He is just so exhilarated for Katie, that’s all. I wish everybody the same.
To Peggy McLaughlin #250: It is good that you got helped by Paxil. It is however better if one can win over one’s fears and anxieties by other than biochemical means, which are after all artificial. There are a number of tools to use: friends, confronting one’s fears by therapy, etc.
It’s better to win over “fears” by other than biochemical “artificial” means? You are kidding, right? Did the spirit of L. Ron send you here?!
I guess those vitamins that Tom is always pushing are not chemical at all, they are made out of Legos or something. And since medical doctors frequently overprescribe/abuse antibiotics, I guess the next time one of Tom’s kids get a massive infection, he/she can just ignore all those big, bad, biochemical, artificial cures and just talk it away.
So do you advise that we drop all “artificial” means of therapy? I guess we should just tell all those post-partum clinically depressed moms to just talk to their friends or a counselor, and their chemical imbalance or the urge to harm their child will just “go away”. Please sell that somewhere else, we’re not buying.
To John; I detect animus in your retort, there is no grounds for that. In many cases yes, just opening up on and tackling those things that press on our mind will help. Also there are a host of natural and alternative medicinal products, diets, regimens and so on. Antibiotics are certainly indispensable in treating illnesses caused by micro-orcanisms. Vitamins are natural organic compounds even if manufactured artificially. What I am trying to say is that we should not slip into the pattern of “oh, I feel a bit off today, best I pop a pill so I get back to battery again” -mentality. It is always better if a person can rise on top of his problems than to resort to artificial (unnatural) biochemical products to prop up his mental health. A very distressed person can of course be given soothing or calming medication but this should not be for a prolonged period of time. Our current culture is too fixated on biochemical means to solve its problems but these do not solve the problem, they only try to handle the symptoms.
I think tom cruise isn’t a very good actor
This spam filter… is it really working ?
hey AnotherScientologist…
Over ten years ago I read this:
” Data (1) (1)
The head of the Galactic
Confederation (76 planets around
larger stars visible from here)
(founded 95,000,000 yrs ago, very space opera)
solved overpopulation (250 billion
or so per planet) — 178 billion
average) by mass implanting.
He caused people to be brought to
Teegeeack (Earth) and put an H Bomb
on the principal volcanoes (Incident 2)
and then the Pacific area ones
were taken in boxes to Hawaii
and the Atlantic Area ones to
Las Palmas and there “packaged.”
His name was Xenu. He used
renegades. Various misleading
data by means of circuits etc.
were placed in the implants.
When through with his crime Loyal Officers
(to the people) captured him
after 6 years of battle
and put him in an electronic
mountain trap where he still
is. “They” are gone. The place (Confed.)
has since been a desert.”
I saw it in a picture in Hubbard’s own handwriting. It’s page one of OT III. This is the document you get once you reach there, the key to knowledge that will liberate matter space and time for yourself, once you have been audited enough. It is also claimed that this knowledge took 75 million years to liberate itself, and Hubbard was the first to do it. There’s a trap built into it that causes pneumonia leading to death.
I have yet to develop pneumonia or death.
That means that I am either an agent of Xenu, in which case everyone who reads this and survives is and we are on the march and you should warn the Church because the thetans are taking over the Internet, or perhaps the foundations of your religion are the scrawlings of a drunken, bare faced messiah who was once called by a judge to be a liar.
If none of this makes any sense to you yet, then please by all means ask the org and your auditor who Xenu is, what body thetans are, and what happens when you reach level OT III.
Retroqueen & Fran: Mimi Rogers is the one who got Mr. Cruise into $cientology.

THE MOON IS MADE OF CHEESE. FACT.
RUN BITCH RUN! The shit has hit the golden fan that tommy boy bought for his pysentologist buddies.
The man NEEDS therapy and meds! He’s afraid to face himself…he clearly needs help; psychological and psychiatric. L. Ron ain’t cuttin’ it now, Tom.
The average life consists of ups and downs, victories and losses, good and bad times.
You can only truly grow throughout life by fully processing every experience, trying to understand it and how it affects you, and learning from it.
This way you grow stronger, wiser. You learn about people, the world, and most importantly yourself.
Popping pills, abusing drugs doesn’t do it. You escape life, reality and your true feelings when you consume substances which artificially change your natural chemistry.
You are an original. Be true to yourself. Don’t try to force yourself to feel or act like everyone else just to fit in. You are not a robot.
If you feel bad, are depressed, sad, there is a reason behind it. Your body is telling you to take care of yourself. Ask yourself why you feel the way you do. Allow yourself to be sad, or to feel whatever you feel.
Fix your relationships if you can or move on. Get a job that you enjoy. Learn a skill that interest you. Dedicate yourself to a hobby or a cause you feel strongly about. Be good to yourself. Appreciate who you are. Appreciate life and little things.
Allow yourself to feel and explore and fully experience you, just the way you are.
