Fans of The Black Donnellys, the NBC series that died prematurely in the Monday night timeslot cursed by Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip, can lift a pint and dance a jig– both of you– if you have Hi Def TV. While the 35,000+ signatures on the online petition to bring the show back isn’t as impressive as the 38,000+ pounds of peanuts that helped push CBS into changing its mind about canceling Jericho, they helped convince Mark Cuban to run all 13 episodes of the series on his HDNet cable channel (the place where Dan Rather is hiding).

The series from Crash‘s Paul Haggis about Irish organized crime in Hell’s Kitchen (the neighborhood in New York City, not Gordon Ramsay‘s place– and what was up with that weeping Asian cook?), replaced Studio 60 in February and hobbled through six episodes before it was yanked in April. The remaining seven played online and were available on iTunes.

The series begins its HDNet Hi Definition run next Wednesday, June 13th, at 8 pm.
