Superstar!

In case you haven’t been paying attention to your viral videos today, this early ’80s clip comes courtesy of a young Master thespian hoping to land a role in the then next Stanley Kubrick epic, Full Metal Jacket. No word on where his acting career is nowadays, but we’re thinking he’ll soon find a plumb role on Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip. Oh, and by the way. This might be one of my favorite viral videos EVER. [Via Defamer and BWE].

I’m so glad it ended that way. Ralph Macchio is Johnny and that kid is no Ralph Macchio.

WOW. Love the forced, faux-British, Madonna-esque accent.

    Wow!
Had he not said it was from the outsides, I would have never now.
He sounded like a retarted southerner.

It’s a wonder he hasn’t won an Emmy, Golden Globe, or Oscar yet.

That was classic. Amazing to see the great Brian Atene before he became the huge star he is today. So great that when you search him on Google all you get is this clip. No evidence he ever got a paying job as an actor anywhere.

    Holy crap that was awesome!

What I can’t understand is this; why Brian was channeling Morgan Freeman?

Let’s see, first he insults the director he’s auditioning for, then he gives that…performance. And he didn’t get the part?

I am just thankful my parents were too poor to afford a video camera when I was a kid so my delusions of grandeur are not available now on youtube!

Since when is Johnny a mentally handicapped 20 year old with a speech impediment????

That was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. Thanks!

Hey, I LOVED The Outsiders. And that better have been a joke, because he fuckin’ butchered it. Wow, that was so amazingly awful. But I don’t see how he could have kept a straight face unless he was serious. Which only makes it all the more (extremely, extremely) pathetic. The accent was awesome, and he could not have been any more pretentious. Perhaps the best line: “I once purchased a Spaniel puppy for fifty cents, and my favorite colour is green.” (I had to add the u in color because he’s extremely British, you see.)

Go to hell, Brian Atene!!! And Johnny was 16! ASS.
