elvira_realityDid you ever think that there was something missing in your life? Did you ever get out of bed and think “If only I was more like Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, my life would have more meaning”? Have you actually thought about dressing up like a Transylvania hooker to make money, but never got very far? If you said yes to any of the above, you are going to be thrilled to hear that Cassandra Peterson, who created the Elvira character 25 years ago, is searching for her successor. And what better way to search for your successor than to create a reality show? Sound too good to be true? Oh, it gets better. The contestants would go through eliminations that “parody some of the most popular reality shows but with a macabre twist”. The winner would get the chance to portray the Elvira character in personal and promotional appearances for one year, even though Lee Tamahori has been doing it for free for years. Cassandra’s manager says that the goal of the project is to help immortalize the Elvira character and make her more than just fetish material for people at comic book conventions. And while this show does sound awful, it could be worse. I hear Rhonda Shear has something cooking as well.

Ronda Shear, the former(or current?) host of “Up All Night” on USA, that showcased bad movies?

I remember Friday & Saturday nights flipping between USA, TNT, TBS, etc watching 3-4 bad movies simultaneously.

If you are getting the ActiveX thing popping up, you probably need to upgrade to QuickTime 7, or wait until we move everything over to Flash Video.

I’d actually love to watch that.
    Sounds hilarious.
I used to love Elvira when I was younger.. and I still love that movie of hers… Mistress of the Dark.
Wonder if they’d try to find a woman with as much wit as her as well.
