   The camel broke for me back in the days of Twin Peaks. And just when I think everything will be okay again, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, Arrested Development, and Kevin Hill happen.

   I too have gotten caught up in this show. The funny thing is, after about three weeks, all I wanted to know is was the sheriff working for the Aliens or the CIA. All of a sudden he gets shot & I’m wondering was it the alien or the cia. Then the show dissappears. WTF!

   The sad thing is this show is not that good. But somehow I got hooked.

   OMG. on a side note some Mexican guy just managed to call out derogatory names for Jews, Polish, Italians, Irish and Blacks on CNN before Lou Dobbs could stop him. Had to rewind it several times…can’t believe me ears. Now they argue… great tv.

   B-Side,

   SOOOOOO not the same thing. Twin Peaks had a movie which allowed for resolution, Arrested Development not only had a “Series Finale” but neither it nor the other mentioned shows was a suspense. Yes its sad they were cancelled, but not the same. You dont know the pain B-side, you dont know ht pain.

   I’m with you, madeyoulaugh. I’ve been watching this show since the beginning and I want to know where it’s going. The first few episodes were pretty good, then there were a lot of episodes where nothing interesting happened. This show focuses too much on how the people are coping with the invasion, and not enough on the how’s and why’s of the invasion. Although I never watched Surface, I feel like Invasion is Surface, slowed down to 1/100th of the speed. The last few episodes have started getting back on track, so now I want to see where the story takes us.

   Anyone else think that Mariel is hot? Larkin’s annoying, as are the kids. I guess I’m really only am interested in Tom, Dave, Mariel and, to some extent, Russell.

   I got hooked on Invasion out of pure laziness. Everytime I see the psycho-mother-in-law killer girl/hybrid in the migraine commercial I think to myself “so when’s Invasion gonna be on again?”

   B-Side…I agree. Twin Peaks counts. The movie that followed the series did not do it justice. They half assed the “wrap up” of the series and the movie.

   More recent I have been seduced and left hanging by shows like “Reunion”that albeit a cheesy, have a good concept and the suspense to keep you watching just because only to be ripped away too soon. With no conclusion, no explanation and I’m left with unanswered questions.

   But yet….Deal or No Deal timeslots get more frequent and extended.

   Oh yes, juxtapoeser, I watched Reunion too. I couldn’t believe they didn’t even finish out the season.

   I’m watching Invasion and I will be so upset if it’s cancelled. If you are going to start a television show that is filled with questions, you’ve got to figure out a way to give the viewers answers before you end the show.

   I hadn’t planned on watching Invasion, Threshold or Surface but they all started on a week with nothing else to watch and I become hooked to all three. They’ve already cancelled Threshold and I’m not sure what’s going on with Surface. If they all get cancelled, I’m gonna be so upset that I put in the time watching them.

   TV Guide Podcast did an interview with Shaun Cassidy that does reveal some interesting Invasion stuff:

   Scroll down to Episode 39 to hear the podcast. I’m not a fan of the show so I wasn’t really listening to the podcast when Shaun Cassidy was on.

   Also from TVshowsonDVD.com, “Invasion creator Shaun Cassidy was interviewed for a TV Guide podcast which was posted yesterday (episode #39). At about 17 minutes, 20 seconds into the podcast, Cassidy mentions that there will be a 1st Season DVD set of Invasion that will be ready to hit stores this Summer. He’s feeling reasonably confident that the show will get renewed, based on ABC’s public comments supporting the program, and hopes that the DVD set will help promote the second season.”

   BTW the TV Guide podcast is like TVgasm in Podcast form… but I think we should all be fearful if TVgasm did their own podcast…

    I used to be a big fan of John Doe too! It was the weirdest show, so still super cool. And he was colour blind, but could see “special clues” in colour? Fantastic. I think the actor is on Prison Break now, but I refuse to watch it because it took the timeslot of Arrested Development

    yeah, I remember I Was pissed off when Johnny Zero was cancelled. I used to Tivo that shit and watch it with the windows closed and the doors locked. I also watched reunion….wtf was up with them not airing the rest of the season? Same thing with Johnny Zero. They should at least air the rest on some sort of on-demand thing for people that actually give a shit.

    My wife and I are fans of Invasion. I have a couple questions I want answered.

    How far along was Larkin, when she found out she was pregnant, two days?

    Will Dave get a haircut, or will he learn how to style his hair properly? I can understand having a f’d up lid, but to style it that way?

    Shaun Cassidy + creepy sheriff = single season it seems. First American Gothic, now Invasion.
    It would be horrible to not find out what happens. We’ll never know with Threshold, or with John Doe either. It’s almost tempting to wait to see if a show catches on first, then catch the first season in reruns. Was there ever any closure with The Pretender?

    Dude, if “Fire, Walk with Me” gave you some Twin Peaks resolution, I need some of those drugs you’re on.

    David Lynch is one of my heros, Mark Frost is a genius, Twin Peaks is the greatest show ever created in the universe… and that movie sucked ass.

    And for the record – any of you jackasses at Paramount or Sony or whoever owns that 2nd season of TP these days, PUT IT ON F’ING DVD ALREADY, ALONG WITH THE PILOT.

    both me and my mom are two more people who give a Double-D whether or not Invasion gets some sort of conclusion.

    we need a spectacular finish–let’s hope ABC gives Shaun-P-Diddy the chance to give us all a ‘happy ending’.

    Here’s my list of shows I loved that were canceled within the 1st season: The Others, American Gothic, Night Stalker (2005), Brimstone, Threshold, Fantasy Island (Malcom McDowell version), The Lone Gunmen, John Doe and last, but not least, Veritas: The Quest.

    At least the new edition of Dr. Who is on the Sci-Fi Channel and getting decent ratings.

    There is some good news for Invasion. ABC Family is showing a 10 episode marathon on April 14 starting at noon and new episodes start on April 19.

    Super secret fan of Johnny Zero here. The storylines were all over the place.

    Threshold was the best of the alien shows this season. The show hit the ground running & while Invasion was still trying to figure out who survived the hurricane, Threshold was busy tracking killer aliens who made people convert or exploded their bodies. Who couldn’t like a show like that! Hope CBS brings it back or send it to the Sci-Fi channel. They know how to handle a show like that.

    I LOVED John Doe! I knew it wasn’t going to last because everytime I mentioned it to my friends they’d just give me a blank look. I also liked that weird reality show Murder in Small Town X, that apparently was watched by all of seven people.

    I’m sorry, I won’t miss this show. This show was boring, boring, boring. I tried watching for a good while, but just gave up when I finally realized that I was sitting watching the show thinking that I couldn’t wait for the episode to be over so I could do something interesting. I finally deleted it from the TiVo rotation about a month ago … sounds like I jumped shop at just the right time. Or maybe it’s just that that girl playing the crazy pregnant alien hybrid is the worst actress on the planet.

    And I think that Larkin is very hot, but annoying beyond belief. But the girl that plays the sheriff’s daughter … WOW!!

    I started watching Invasion, Surface, Threshold and Night Stalker. Love Surface and Night Stalker! Threshold never really grabbed me and have not missed Invasion. They could at least give us some resolution if it isn’t going to be renewed. One thing that really pisses me off is that it seems like networks keep moving shows from night to night and timeslot to timeslot never allowing a show to gather any momentum or audience and then cancel after half a season. It’s just stupid. And then to see the caliber of show that does stay on like According to Jim – are you kidding me? I wonder if it would be financially feasable for a show to continue but going straight to DVD?

    When sheriff’s hot daughter goes voluntarily into the ocean, that ‘s when Invasion really started annoying me.

    EXACTLY! yeah, i don’t know that i really like the show that much, i stopped watching part way thru, then saw the last ep before it mysteriously disappeared. of course that got me back into it, as much as i can be. they better not cancel it!! i wanna know what the hell is going on!

    Mr. C started watching Invasion and Surface first. While I could never get into Surface (didn’t care for that kid over-actor who with all of the hair)I found myself telling him to wait to watch the tivo’d Invasion episodes with me. Just got sucked into the show.(And it’s not just because that Russell guy is hot.)

    Man I’ll be pissed if they don’t give us an ending, but I hope they don’t outright cancel it either. ABC can run those stupid comedies on Friday nights for YEARS but give up on Invasion? Grrrrr….

    It all started for me when Degrassi was cancelled when I was a kid…how disappointing…I too watched Reunion and was annoyed that they just cancelled it without finishing the season. Never got into Invasion though. I think it was on the same time as CSI NY.

    Pretender is another great example. Terrible show. Watched every week. Never got any answers. sigh. As far as shows cancelled too soon (but not suspense) Ill throw Freaks and Geeks into the ring.

    I used to LOVE John Doe. I didn’t miss a week of it and it pissed me off when I found out it was cancelled. And right when we found out that his bartender friend was the mysterious sign language guy in the hoody!!!
    MAN that pissed me off so much.

    Anywho… never got into Invasion, but I did watch Surface. I hope they bring it back.. would totally suck balls if they didn’t

    Arrested Development was a great show someonespecial, but give Prison Break a chance. It’s like the best show out right now. Invasion is an ok show, that sheriff creeps me out. Reunion was a pretty good show too. The shows I was every really pissed about getting cancelled was Firefly, and Arrested Development.

    Oh, if we’re going to list shows that were cancelled too soon, there was also Keen Eddie, Strange Luck, Vengeance Unlimited, and Manimal.
    I may not be too sure about that last one.

    I even read the “Secret Diary of Laura Palmer” hoping for some TP closure. But no. The cool pages with the answers were “ripped out”. As much as I love David Lynch…come on that is just sadistic! We should start a “free season 2 from the archives” petition.

    My So-Called Life? Did Angela ever call Jordan out about pretending to write the love letter? Did Brian Krakow get the girl? (I hope not)

    And bringing up Prentender is just too much for me. That was like the 90′s version of Alias…kinda. (hmm may be a bad analogy)

    You would think with all the cable networks out there these days they would make one dedicated to wrapping up shows like this for the fans.

    I too loved Twin Peaks, MSCL, John Doe, and Reunion (I am still pissed about Reunion, I mean COME ON!) oh, and I liked Point Plesant.
    I agree, if you are going to do a series like these, then for the love of BOB, wrap it up! And if you get cancelled before you can, then put it on DVD, or form some kind of network for these shows.

    Oh, and FYI- while it is illegal, you can get the pilot episode of Twin Peaks on ebay… lol

    There was a new episode of Invasion on Wednesday and, of course, I missed it. Stupid VCR record button, I SWEAR I pressed it.

    Anyhoo….Since the show is back on with fresh episodes, will there be fresh recaps as well??
