Tim Gunn gets a “sassy” sidekick

Someone at Bravo decided that Tim Gunn of Project Runway was too snooty and stylish to star alone in a show called Tim Gunn’s Guide To Style, so they announced a search for a down-to-earth sidekick to make him more approachable– sort of like the case of Bryant Gumbel and Katie Couric– or The Brain and Pinky.

Now, with production underway this week in New York, they’ve found a second banana to keep him real. And who could be more down to earth than snooty former supermodel Veronica Webb– or, as Bravo calls her, “supermodel, actress, writer, and journalist” Veronica Webb, brought into Tim’s show to “add a little sass to his class.”

Uh, We’ve met Veronica, who’s a favorite of (Runway producer) Harvey Weinstein. “Sassy” isn’t a word we’d use. Could they have confused her with Tyra Banks? timgunn.jpgGuide to Style will be a spinoff of and promotional tool for Tim’s new book, Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality Taste and Style (which also has a cowriter), and will feature Tim “counseling” the fashion-impaired and turning them into dapper dressers.

Trusty sidekick Veronica will lead “style-challenged” women on shopping challenges and pipe up with her own opinions as Tim completes the transformations.

Bravo’s looking at a July 1st premiere for Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style.
