Mob Wives Mini Cap: How Renee Got her Groove Back

Well, that didn’t take long did it? After ignoring the advice of her friends, therapist, and the entire thinking world, Renee allowed Junior to move back in only to realize it was totally a bad move. She needed a bit of a confidence boost before she could kick him to the curb, though. Which is why it’s wonderful that Ghostface Killah of the Wu-Tang Clan just so happened to need Renee’s help in styling him for his new video.

Even though this is the first time I have ever heard about Renee being a stylist, I wasn’t really surprised. Her own over the top fashion sense kind of makes it a perfect fit for her. Anyway, I am back to liking Renee again. I’d love to see who else she has styled and how she interacts with them.

Joe gets out of prison and Carla is so excited that there is a light at the end of the parenthood tunnel that she can’t contain herself. She all but threw the kids headfirst into the back seat of the car to go pick him up. The truly good news is that now her kids know where their dad has been all these years.

Karen has the first chapter of her book ready and wants Drita to read it. Probably so that she can stir up some shit since things seemed to have calmed down for everyone one. Drita is unsure if she should read it because a part of her wants to pretend it doesn’t exist. Let’s face it, I doubt she ever planned to buy the book or pick it up at the library or anything. She is also finding out about some of the dirty things Karen has said about her behind her back (or at least that is the impression I got from the lunch she had with Carla) and is feeling very betrayed for being so supportive of Karen from the beginning.
In other Drita news, Lee is breaking his daughter’s heart and pissing me off royally in the process. After all of the talking Drita did to Aleeya about how Lee made bad choices and ended up where he was, Lee pretty much blames the “rat” for all of his problems. God, I hope Drita can give that kid more balance because she deserves so much better than to turn out like Renee. Anyway, Aleeya wants to know when he is coming home. Apparently, he told her he would be out by the time she finished 5th grade and she is in 4th grade now. Still no answer from Lee on that front. How can they not know when he is getting out of jail? I know they add time when you fuck up in jail, but how badly has he fucked up to not have a date of release? Why can’t the lawyers tell them?

But, more importantly, next week is the EXPLOSIVE Season Finale! I think Karen just might get her ass handed to her courtesy of Drita! Seems like there was some hypocritical shit going down with Karen’s whole “you married my boyfriend” thing. I can’t wait!

Did anyone else fall in love with Renee’s former boss? How about the way that Renee didn’t even squirm when being called a drama queen? She totally knows it and owns it! It’s the most refreshing thing I have ever seen on a reality show EVAH!

I totally wish we had seen more of the Renee who gives her boss fits by being a drama queen but totally gets the job done to the point that people request her to style them. Fingers crossed for Season 2 story line!

Enough about my hopes for season 2, what did you guys think of the episode? Do you have any story line ideas that you would love to see play out next season? Can you believe that next week is the finale?

If there were ever a situation where in which I had to choose between cheese and chocolate, cheese would win hands down. I spend my days writing blog posts for the multi-housing industry and my nights harshly judging people who appear on reality shows. If there is the odd weekend in which I am not working, or feeling smugly satisfied about my lack of my own reality show, I will build a blog for my friends. Then, I will spend the rest of my weekend conning other friends, family members, and general acquaintances to donate their talents to help out. I am shameless in my love of free stuff, blue humor, and great or even terrible fiction. I tell my friends that I watch reality shows to feel better about myself. In actuality, I watch them because I am vastly entertained by the things people will do to be famous. When Flipit asked me to join the TVGasm family, I was honored. When he said that I would be paid in Cheetos and M&M's, I was totally in.

@Plath, I’ve seen an interview she did at a radio station and she stated she has styled many rappers. I’ll try to find the link for you.

Renee has no sense of style I can’t imagine anyone wanting her to dress them.

@Dermuf, I would love to see that link. @IOS, It’s always the people with the most questionable style sense that tend to do it for a living. Although, there have been times when I have absolutely loved a single piece that she wears. For instance, i adore those thigh high boots she wears in the opening montage – even though I could never get away with wearing them.

I don’t know how to make the link clickable, but here’s the link. http://bossip.com/385479/breakfast-club-interviews-mob-wives-renee-graziano-and-reveal-some-serious-mob-ties-in-hip-hop-video69691/

Even though I haven’t watched all of the link she seems more likable here than on the show for some reason. I guess she had to keep the drama to a minimum.

I find it almost impossible to believe Renee is 41.

No shit @dizzygirl. I’m 45 and I look much much younger. But then again I hear a penis ages one about 10 years.

@Dermuf, THAT is the Renee that I love. She is funny and easy going and acknowledges that she is a drama queen. It’s when she is too far into her drama queen ways to realize what she is doing that makes me want to smack her!
@dizzygirl and sheesh, I am always blown away by the fact she is only 41. I know she hasn’t had an easy life, but DAMN!

I couldn’t believe Renee was 41 either – homegirl looks BAD. Of course, in the movie Goodfellas, Karen (Henry’s wife) mentioned how all the other wives looked old and terrible – maybe the mob life does that to you.

I was surprised at Drita’s seemingly 180 about Karen. Earlier in the season Drita was all “I’m so glad she’s back, we were such good friends, I love Karen.” Now she’s all “Bitch better watch it!” It’s almost like the producers gave Drita a peek at all the trash Karen’s been talking. I can’t wait for the finale! Drita’s ready to cut a bitch!

(adding to my prior thoughts…) To be fair – sometimes I thought maybe Drita was just being nice for the sake of being nice. But now the gloves are off. Not that Karen doesn’t deserve it, she’s definitely got a screw loose.

Plath one thing all people in prison know is there release/gate date unless they have life.Even if you mess up in prison you will get a hearing get time added and the first thing a con will do is go back to there cell and figure out there new date.I am hoping that Vh1 is paying/renting for some of these houses and paying for the dinner’s.They can glame it up and say what they will but there husbands all made money off of other people’s misery.
As always great recap and very funny Plath .Great job

I read Drita’s FB fan page a few weeks ago and she said that Lee was in a state prison and afterwards would have to serve time in a federal prison, as well. She gave this as a reason why he didn’t know his release date. I’m not sure how this works. I also read where someone said they weren’t able to find him on the inmate registry. (Is there you looked, @ Nikki?) Curiouser and curiouser… he has no mug shot and doesn’t show up on the inmate files.. Why is Karen’s mugshot readily available (and hilarious) but Lee’s remains elusive?

Renee is a stylist? Ugh. I have worked as a stylist and stylist assistant for the past 10 years and haven’t seen anyone as tacky and mannish as Renee. I mean, yea…she’s styling hasbeens like Ghostface Killah, but still. I used to work in hip-hop in the late 90′s/early 2000′s and trust me, the money was amazing. But I hated it. The music video sets were full of drugs, strippers, and spectators. And that was the fun part. I was hoping for some creative outlet but only found myself prepping yet another football jersey and bandana combo. Seriously? I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Sure, I listened to the music. But that was much different than being on set with a bunch of thugs and their entourage. I can’t really complain, though. I was mostly chilling in the wardrobe trailer. The strippers, on the other hand, had it worse. Much worse.

I missed this episode..I’ve been a bit behind and caught up a bit last night. (On your fabulous recaps, too, Plath!) Drita and the raccoons cracked me up. I used to have one living in my backyard that I was afraid would attack my three-legged chihuahua when he went out for a tinkle. The thing was huge! But it always rushed up a tree and watched my dog from above. Sure, I would hate it if they ransacked my garbage cans but this raccoon was so cute and fluffy…I couldn’t hurt one unless it was rabid. Now, the damn squirrels that tore through my window screen and pillaged my walnut bread? Different story. Plague on both your houses!

@ Plath, I actually feel bad since I was one of the people who suggested you’d like Basketball Wives, yet you hate it so much. I, for one, appreciate all the efforts you make for these recaps, because I know I don’t have the writing ability or the humor to recap week after week! In summary, I love your recaps/mini-caps, the stories you tell, plus your interactive comments section. I know there are a lot of people on this site who hate the recappers’ personalized stories (Leia LaBiblia recapping RHOA comes to mind), but it gives perspective to the opinions you offer.

Although our tastes may diverge with the B-Ball Wives, I will certainly try to watch whatever shows you recaps post Mob Wives and Basketball Wives.

    Love you!

@Derek Hazelton, no worries. I only truly hate it when there is no RealWorldTami – because then it’s extremely boring. Last night’s episode wasn’t nearly as bad as last week’s episode. So don’t mind my bitching.

I’m thinking maybe I should clarify. Working on hip-hop music videos was a lot of fun. And, like I said, paid very well. But, as expected, the job all depended on the company we kept. Some videos sets were cool and laid back. Others were crowded by a rowdy entourage and ‘groupies’ who always seemed to show up and act a fool. The artist(s) could be uber-professional but if there were other guys on set, hitting on women, drinking, and smoking weed…well, things became..interesting. As much as I like hip-hop and was raised with it providing a soundtrack to my childhood, I still preferred to work away from celebs that needed constant coddling. So I moved on to editorial, advertising, and commercial projects. But even so, I wouldn’t turn down a job if it came up. (In this economy?! lol) Last fall, I went on tour with Missy’s stylist throughout Australia and Singapore. It was amazing! The locales, the perks, her crew..all positively unforgettable. So, I can’t really complain. I’m happy to be doing what I love and I’m sure Renee is as well. One thing’s for sure…at least we now know how she earns her money while Junior is in jail. (And why she’s jonesing for a bigger ass. Haha!)

Is Wendy Williams hosting the Mob Wives Reunion? The picture on Twitter is kind of blurry, but it looks like her: http://twitpic.com/5fupch
