Mob Wives Recap: Old Enemies, New Archenemies

Last week, Karen met with Carla so that she could talk shit about Drita, Renee and Junior attempt another go at their relationship and Drita is focused on getting a divorce from Lee and protecting her kids from it. Can I just point out that this show has become boring lately because every scene is a meeting of two or more of the women discussing the meeting we saw a minutes prior. These women take more meetings than business owners who discuss real things worthy of meetings like money and business projections.

Drita is at home and meets with her friend Nicole while discussing her upcoming divorce. Everything has been completed with the lawyer but she has been unable to sign the papers because to her, that signifies that it’s official and done. Drita has yet to let Lee know as well as reveal to her daughters that she is going to divorce their father. She is refusing to speak to him until he apologizes for everything he has done. I agree with her that divorce papers should say, “you don’t deserve me” on them because that is usually the case when you file them. Drita knows that this divorce is going to cause Lee a lot of pain and she doesn’t really care because then he might actually feel some of the pain she has had in the past few years while he has been incarcerated. Nicole reiterates that you have to do what is best for you and Drita agrees but says she wanted to work it out with him but it’s just not possible.

Karen and Ramona

The Tick and Arthur meet up to discuss Karen and Carla’s confrontation. Karen again states that everything is Drita’s fault and Carla is either her puppet or a very calculated individual. Honestly, I get the impression that Carla just gets dragged into everything because of her association to Drita, not because she actively seeks this drama. Ramona places most of the blame on Drita as well and says she is the outsider stirring up all the drama because she’s the one that is featured every week talking about everyone…oh, wait that’s these two bitches. Karen again brings up that Carla may have said that Ramona was her archenemy and Ramona says she has to know someone to hate the and that if Carla were her archenemy she would be on her front lawn poking a voodoo doll (ok then not random at all…). Ramona also says that she has too much going on in her life to get involved with Carla. Then why is she on this show wasting hours a day away from her kids filming and causing drama instead of dealing with her personal shit?

Now Carla and Drita take their turn at meeting each other to discuss Carla’s meeting with Karen but before that little tidbit comes out Drita and Carla discuss helping their kids with homework and not remembering stuff from 20 years ago. Carla is beating around the bush but finally tells Drita that she met with Karen and the things that they discussed during that meeting. Carla lets Drita know that Karen believes they are running around Staten Island talking about Karen and Ramona. She also lets Drita know that they had made up and wonders if Drita and Karen could do the same one day because it’s currently a category 5 between them. Drita says they will likely not make up because Drita has already tried but Karen wanted to fight her instead of make up. Drita reiterates that if Karen comes to her house, as she says a lot of the time, that it would be self defense because Drita would be waiting and that going to Arizona must have made Karen lose her mind to keep saying that she wants to come for Drita.

Karen’s Opportunistic Face

Karen is now up for meeting with someone but this time it’s her daughter Karina. Karen lets Karina know that she will be sending her back to Arizona by herself while Karen stays in New York to pursue financial opportunities and further establish herself (in more unnecessary drama). Karina is upset and explains that Arizona without her mom is a different place and she wishes she were coming with her. Karen’s father doesn’t want Karina in New York and Karen explains that in Arizona there won’t be a bullseye on her. What doesn’t make sense is if she is safer in Arizona then why would your ultimate plan be to establish yourself in New York and then bring your daughter there to live with you? Did anyone catch that she said she wanted to establish a home in New York and bring Karina there and then say her father was against Karina being in New York? Karen begins to cry in her interview and explains how difficult it is to be without her daughter but she’s doing it for their future. I’m not going to get into Karen’s parenting skills but I do wonder who Karina stays with in Arizona because I was under the impression that Karen and her have no contact with Karina’s father. Is Karen’s mother in Arizona and that is who she stays with?

Another meeting…Renee and Carla are now going to discuss the Carla and Karen meeting. You know it’d be much easier and probably cheaper if these women all met with each other so they could handle this shit in one spot at one time. Anyway, another rehash but this time Renee let’s Carla know that she’s going to get involved because she likes being in the middle of the drama and because she isn’t happy with Karen getting into Carla’s face. Carla doesn’t want Renee to join in because it could make the situation worse but if she didn’t then the show wouldn’t have any drama. Renee also makes the smart observation that Karen probably didn’t go there with the intention of making up but of starting trouble. Renee mentions that no one gives her the dirt and I bet it’s because they know she would want to get involved with it. Carla also lets her know about Karen’s comment that if Carla and Ramona fight, Karen hopes that Ramona gets the best of Carla which disappoints Renee. I don’t know about you but if someone told me they hoped that if I got into a fight with their friend that the friend won, that person probably would leave with a black eye or at least a Level 4 Side Eye.

Renee goes to have dinner with The Tick and Arthur and immediately asks what the deal was with Karen meeting with Carla. Renee wants to know if Karen went there with the intention to make up with Carla then why did she go Drita nuts and Karen responds that it was Carla who went Drita nuts and was Johnny Cochran defending Drita the entire time. Karen claims she was bothered by what happened on the rooftop, that Drita is running around Staten Island talking trash about Karen with her sidekick Carla and because Carla is talking crap about Ramona. Renee asks why she got into Carla’s face and says that if someone got into her face she wouldn’t stand for it. Karen exaggerates that she wanted to stick her foot on the side of Carla’s neck and let her know that she picked the wrong team and then gets upset because she feels that Renee is defending the other girls even though she has been friends with Karen for a long time.

Ramona’s liquid courage

Ramona then decides to stop sucking on her drink and throw her two cents in and take her turn at bashing Drita whose the only connection they even have to Carla. Ramona compares Drita to spreading cancer in the group because she is the outsider who married into the family. She says that Carla’s elevator isn’t going to the top floor and she is being manipulated by Drita and then proceeds to call Drita a crumb snatcher who married into an Italian family. Renee finally interjects and says Ramona is causing trouble and Ramona says she isn’t and that it is Drita who is causing problems. She says Karen had balls to come back to New York and there will be no more talking about her now that Ramona is around. Renee says she is no longer the craziest looking one in the group and is relieved at that.

Cancer cells actually kind of do look like salt, amirite?

The Tick and Arthur meet to talk about the spa party Karen plans to hold at Renee’s house and how she plans to invite Carla. Karen loves doing facials (snicker, snicker) and she owned a spa in Arizona so she has experience. Ramona thinks Carla would be stupid to attend if she really thought that Ramona hated her. She then lets us know that she would wait outside of the house to get Carla and that Drita is a puppet master.

Drita is at home packing up all of Lee’s belongings because now that the divorce is officially on she doesn’t want it in her home anymore. She explains that she is angry because the men in the lifestyle don’t betray each other but they betray their wives and best friends in the home. Carla comes over to lend some emotional support as she went through the same thing with her husband and they both venture into Lee’s room which was previously off limits because he doesn’t like people touching his stuff (wonder how that’s working out in jail). Drita lets us know that she bought a lot of signed baseball items for him which are on display including a signed ball from Derek Rodriguez (she totally said Derek Rodriguez but I think she meant either Alex Rodriguez or Derek Jeter). Drita puts on one of his oversized coats and says it used to fit her when she was pregnant. She finds a letter Lee wrote her and begins to cry while reading it and lets us know that all she wants is an apology and she would like to be friends eventually but she needs that apology first.

That’s probably why I’ll never talk bad about Drita…

Renee and Karen are talking and you can see how much all the fighting has been weighing on Renee who explains that it’s also making her depression even worse. Karen says that she wants to focus on more important things like rebuilding herself so she can bring her daughter to live with her in New York and that she doesn’t want to fight with Carla. She also kind of volunteers Renee’s house for the spa party and Renee lets us know that she doesn’t want drama but knows that is probably just a hope. Later on AJ comes home after visiting with Renee’s father at the halfway home he was released to after spending 10 years in jail. He and Renee talk about how different things have become since her father went to jail including smaller cell phones and seat belt laws. Renee wants to see her father but they aren’t talking at the moment and she is worried that if she goes to see him, he will turn her away. AJ suggests that she just go over because her father has asked about her and he doesn’t think her own father would turn her away from the house.

Karen calls Carla to invite her to the spa party and lets her know that the end of their meeting was not what she had planned and she would like to move past everything. Karen says she respects Carla’s loyalty to Drita but says that eventually their true colors will come eventually. Carla meets with Drita and lets her know about the spa party and that Ramona will be at the party although Carla plans to stay away from her. Drita says that Ramona is like the raccoons who are always in Drita’s garbage. Drita doesn’t think Carla should go to the party if she isn’t comfortable because she sounds like Drita before she went to Renee’s party where she was ambushed by the Tick and Arthur. Drita says Carla doesn’t need any skin care help anyway which is true. Carla has pretty flawless skin for being an older woman so she really has no reason to attend the spa party.

Ramona said what about my husband boyfriend?

The last meeting of the episode is Renee, Carla and Drita at dinner in Hoboken where Renee is clearly uncomfortable. She begins to tell the ladies of her dinner with The Tick and Arthur and how they had nothing nice to say about Drita who reiterates that she punched both of them so the bad mouthing was expected. Drita then says the other ladies need to get off her dick and if she did have one they would probably be sucking it. You know at this point it’s either they really hate her or they want to be like her. This whole thing reeks of Danielle and Dina and being worn like last year’s Versace. Renee says she has become uncomfortable being in the middle of the ladies fighting even though SHE KEEPS PUTTING HERSELF IN THE MIDDLE OF IT! Seriously Renee, stop butting into these crazy bitches drama because it’s definitely not good for your health and it’s providing no benefit to you.

Renee just don’t give a fu*k

Renee brings up that Ramona said that Drita married into the lifestyle and she was not like them and Drita says that is a compliment and even the monkeys at the Bronx Zoo wouldn’t want to be like Ramona. I didn’t realize you could marry into an ethnicity because if so there are a few that I would like to try out and see if they work out better than my own. Renee feels in the middle and doesn’t want to be disloyal to anyone and wishes they could all make peace. Carla brings up the spa party and Renee invites Drita not to start drama but because Drita is always welcome in Renee’s home.

Drita is over trying to make peace with Karen. Then out of left field Renee asks Drita if the rumor that Drita told Renee’s sister in law that Ramona had said Junior was a loser and married Renee to get close to her father was true. Wait, when did Drita and Ramona actually talk because I was under the impression they didn’t like each other from the get go. Drita says that its true that Ramona said that and much worse and that she didn’t want to tell Renee because she felt bad. Renee says that Ramona shouldn’t be talking about her man and although they haven’t had the best relationship he is the father of her child and he would be fine without her with another family and he loves her family. Drita interviews that if Renee had not asked her she wouldn’t have told her what Ramona says because when you surround yourself with people like Ramona that is what happens. Renee asks Drita if she would say this in front of Ramona and Drita says that she would but she knows it would start drama and Renee says that she doesn’t give a f**k and she will take a beating. She almost freaked me out when she said it because she said it with such venom in her eyes. Renee’s family is definitely the button you don’t push. Drita says you won’t in front of me and I’m on your side but Renee reiterates that she doesn’t care and suddenly I’m just praying Ramona walks into the same restaurant.
