NYC Prep Kids and Ally Zarin Connection

New York Magazine recently printed two articles about the kids of “NYC Prep” and their connection to Ally Zarin, daughter of Jill Zarin who is one of “The Real Housewives of NYC”.

In the first article, we get details about how the cast was recruited for NYC Prep. The creators of the show faxed several private schools in Manhattan, but did not receive any positive feedback. When that didn’t work they used Facebook to track down the kids.

Kelli was the last cast member added to NYC Prep and she was brought to the audition by one of her schoolmates, Ally Zarin. However, Ally and Kelli no longer speak because Ally wasn’t invited to Kelli’s birthday party. Didn’t kids stop doing that in grade school?

The article also reveals that PC (Peter Cary) Peterson is “humiliated, degraded and hurt” by this show and that he has remorse since agreeing to be on the show.

For smart, savvy kids, they sure make a lot of mistakes. I thought living in NYC makes you mature earlier, I guess they were wrong.

The second article is about a launch party for 30 Vodka that was held in NYC and hosted by Kim Kardashian. Jessie and PC went to the club for the party but were turned away at the door because they are not 21. However, they were invited by Ally Zarin and she was inside the party. At one point Ally came outside texting someone, but Jessie and PC were not allowed to go inside. Finally Ally, Jessie left in a huff.

    I saw almost an entire episode of this show the other day just because everything else on TV sucked worse. I can’t believe what little snotty douches these kids are, PC, Sebastian and Jessie in particular. Man, I feel fortunate to have grown up in a humdrum little ‘burb if this is what living in the big city is like.
