   My favorite design didn’t make the top 3, either. I wonder if it’s the same one!

   I completely agreed with your take on how the episode went MrsMiaWallace. I also felt the exact same way about my favorite not making the top three. I imagine it may be the same person. Maybe the judges felt that it looked too expensive to make.

   I think you are right about them needing to “start stumping for new sponsors”–it looks like that is the challenge for next week.

   Dmitri. Say the name. DIMITRI! He was robbed.
   Melissa’s dress was interesting, but the top fit so poorly that you could see a fair amount of (tiny) side-boob. I was nervous watching it that if the big flap fell forward, she’d be showing us her tatas.
   Christopher was the winner??? His dress was an example of what a little fashion design boy would envision as a perfect gown, i/o/w something that would be flattering for women over 5’9″ and under 130 lbs, with long slim arms and neck, aka models. Who would not be shopping at L&T for a gown. It would look frumpy on everyone else, with that tight cap sleeve cutting off underarm flesh, the neckline doing nothing to flattern the customer. Also, I don’t know how this dress is going to be mass produced for a retail between $200-300. The fine shredding technique was carefully engineered to mitre in cf, and the skirt had a lot of yardage.
   Also, and I’m so surprised Nina didn’t call it out, the open back meant YOU CAN’T WEAR A BRA WITH IT. Maybe it was just the lights, but I swear I saw nips!

   I wonder if they underestimated the level of outrage Ven’s behavior would generate, because this episode looks like it was edited to just about remove any trace of him. He’s always gotten ample camera time before, and in this episode you barely get to catch sight of him. Not that I’m complaining – He should have been auf-ed last week for being a one weight monkey.(Love you forever, Dmitry!)

   I was kinda surprised at all the black used, and at how many were sheaths. This week it was smart to do a gown.

   My fave dress was Dmitry’s.

   I also thought Dmitry’s dress was a winner…Now, I know nothing about fashion, but how could we all be of such a different mind than the judges? Think the clothes look different through the tv?

   Hunka hunka chocolate Stoli love tears – my fav did not make it into the top 3 and I could not figure out why. Maybe it would be too hard to mass produce?? Otherwise it was just a big ol’ slight. I suddenly have a craving for a rootbeer float – later!

   I really didn’t like the dress that won – thought it looked like something I have seen before and would have limited wearablity because of the shape and opening in the back. Listen up designers – bras are important!

   Didn’t really love any of the dresses, though did think that Dmitry’s fit best with the other pieces in the collection. Loved the color of Melissa’s dress, but not the design.

   I was okay with the final decision about who to auf – though not too surprised by it given how this season has played out so far. Felt so badly for the girls as they all seemed to have meltdowns this week. Odd that they all panicked at the same time.

    As to the winner I can only say this: Project Runway, your script is showing.

    When the judges speak to the winner, they all have that carefully edited and scripted sound just like Season 8 when speaking to Gretchen.

    Dmitry got robbed. And they should have lambasted Ven for more fabricgami. He needs to learn (like Christohers shredding technique that my MOTHER taught me 30 years ago) that it simply won’t work in every single article of clothing. Oh, but what am I saying. After all he’s a man (well, sort of) and I’m a woman – what do I know?

    I felt like Ven and Chris both wanted to do their “signature” for their mass produced look. I thought Chris’ looked messy and cheap. No hems? Is it me? And again with the flowers, Blorph! It’s not going to happen, it was awful . . . ugly, and how in hell would that be mass produced! Ugh!

    I loved Dimitri’s look, and I love, love, loved Unibrow’s . . . OMG, that back with the zipper was stunning!!! I thought it was soooo beautiful, and so well done.

    Eleana seems to be coming down from her highest fits, which is a good thing. I kind of enjoyed her in this one. Her dress . . . hmm . . . I got what she was doing, but I thought it was too loose and messy looking. She’s still my fave design wise, I must love me some football jerseys and shoulder pads!

    Look forward to the full cap!

    I miss Afro Ken! He would’ve made this episode pop! But he did right to leave. It might be 20 yrs before the stuff he’s making today gets to Target. (Or Lord and Taylor for only $169.99 more) And when it does fashion magazines in Japan will be like “bless their hearts.”

    Dimitri was right: his dress WAS S*T*U*N*N*I*N*G. I’d have scrimped and saved and done what I could to own it. He was totally robbed (feel it’s okay to say this re: “spoilers” since someone else already has.)
    I suspect that he may be the new Uli – creating fabulous, flattering, easy clothes that everyone will want to buy and yet he/she is not the winner.
    I was surprised at how demure everyone was with all the sheaths. Shocked at who won and agree that not sure how to mass-produce that one.

    In my opinion, Dmitri is the ONLY designer whose designs don’t repeat themselves. His signature looks? Sophisticated design, excellent construction and elegant wearability. No constant use of the same fabric flowers (and the same damn type of flower too!), no shredded fabric, 80′s shirt/skirt flare, or dominatrix/football jersey, etc..That he should get to this point with no win is ridiculous. And for his designs, his attitude, and his unlikeability factor alone, Ven should go home already. How dare he call that woman from last week old? Until this episode when I noticed his age for the first time, I thought he was in his forties going on fifty! I also think his clothes make his models look heavier. No wonder he freaks out over some extra poundage. Jerk.

    I enjoyed this episode of PR more than I’ve enjoyed any other episode in a long time. The balance between cast drama and fashion drama seems just right to me this season. I’m liking Gunnar now, and was happy he got to stay. The only people I don’t like are Venn and Chunk II. No one bores me. I will cry if/when Dmitri gets auf’d.

    Did anyone notice the preview for next week? I burst out laughing when Dmitri said, “What did I do in a pehst lyife to deserve this?” and it showed him running around a street with Hellena and Dreds.

    When the winning dress first came down the runway I thought it was so ugly and just knew the designer would be going home. Shows you how much I know!

    And yes, Dmitry was robbed!

    Loved Dmitri dress. I was sure it would win. Idiot judges!!! It wasn’t black like so many items in the store and you could wear it so many places. Plus I think the fabric was good for hiding figure flaws. And who wears long dresses?? I am early fifty and can not remember the last time I had a need for a long dress. Maybe when one of my kids marry ( and that will not be any time soon) Must be a NY thing.

    I thought Eleana’s dress with a few tweeks could work well in the collection.

    And I agree with who every said it above, bras are important undergarment.

    My first thought when I saw the “winning” design on the runway was that the model wearing it NEEDED a bra, but the design didn’t allow for one. (Actually, what came to mind was a rather irreverent song from my college days that starts, “Do your b**bs hang low?”) I’m with the majority in preferring a non-top-three design.

    Loved your “The Blor You Know” caption. Perfect!

    I re-watched this last night and the vibe between Chunklite and the judges is way too friendly for this point in the competition – just like it was with Gretchen. I’m liking him less and less and fearing he’s already been tapped as the winner.

    Dmitry, even if he doesn’t win (and he won’t sad horns) will have a solid career ahead of him. So many posters all over the web are saying they love his designs and want to buy them.

    And the long gowns are considered high fashion even if no one ever wears them. Dmitry makes clothing for real women in real situations. Not fantasy like Ven and Chunklite.

    I really like the rinse or whatever it is Sonjia’s put on her hair. Who knows how it’d be in real life. But on tv it looks great on her.

    Christopher’s model absolutely needed a bra. With the waistband and the neckline of the dress, her boobs looked like they were sitting at her stomach. I was waiting on Heidi to say something (you know how she hates wayward boobies) but she was all praise. *side eye*

    Dmitri was definitely robbed. As soon as it walked down the runway, I just knew he was the winner and was trying to figure out where to get between 200 and 300 dollars. The only good thing about him not winning is the fact that I don’t have to come up with that money.

    The ending was perfect though…the right person went home.

    IDK, Dreads’ dress was pretty hideous. It looked like something Sporty Spice would wear to church. Gunner’s was pretty but meh. I thought Elena’s looked like a hefty bag. I really didn’t get all the love for it.

    I agree with you about Elena’s dress. I thought for sure that she would get a “garbage bag” comment from the judges, but, instead, she was in the top scores and was praised. The bulkiness of the skirt on that dress would add pounds to anyone, too. It was just plain weird. If they ever make another “Mad Max” movie, then Elena can be hired to do the costuming as she has that look down.

    I too loved Dmitri’s, though I wish it didn’t have those runners over the seams (yeah, I clearly don’t know fashion terms). I actually thought Christopher’s dress was beautiful, though I agree, I don’t really know who could actually wear it, or have reason to wear it.

    I hated Blorph’s dress. That flower in black leather or whatever that was made it look like the eye of death was sucking you into the vortex on her chest. It was like the eye of Suaron up in there. Not a fan.
