Ratings

Ratings-Tm-3-6 “Shhoooooowwww MEeeeeee The Moneeeeeyyyyy. Hello? Anyone there?” No Mr. Shitner, no one is there and no one is watching as last night you and your dancing girls plummeted into last place even behind the CW. THE C freakin’ W. Thats like hearing the fat kid in band got a to the prom and you didn’t. Jericho and Bones tied for the top spot a 8pm with Bones just barely pulling ahead in the second half hour. The ABCW tied for the loser spot at 9pm meaning the sun may surely set on Daybreak sooner than later. CSI:NY held the top of the totem at 10 o’clock and Medium had a meek second place showing losing viewers in the second half hour…but they should have seen that coming.

The overall winner of the night was CBS pulling in about 12% of all tv’s turned on last night.

For all the details, enjoy the full Nielsen ratings (18 -49 demo) after the jump.

How do I read these ratings?

A Nielsen rating may look like this:

8pm – NBC – TVgasm The TV Show – 10.0/18

Focus on the 10.0/18. The RATING, 10.0, on the left represents the actual number of households that watched a show. One rating point equals 1,102,000 households. The SHARE, 18, on the right represents the show’s proportion of the total households watching television at that time.

For example, TVgasms TV Show has a 10 rating/18 share. That means 11,020,000 households are tuned in to the show and 18% of all the households with a TV turned on are watching that show.

Ratings and Share are customarily broken down for various DEMOs — a demographic grouping of viewers, like 18-49 adults or 2-12 children or 18-34 women, etc. Advertisers, and therefore networks, covet the 18-49 adult demo, and so tend to concentrate on that number.

I have to disagree with you JWR when you say “Criminal Minds is better.” It’s not opinion but rather fact that Criminal Minds is waaaaaaay better. you were close, but not totally accurate.

This is why I love these ratings posts: I couldn’t really get into Daybreak, and now I know not to bother next week. It’s only a matter of time til it’s yanked. Same rating as One Tree Hill?! Despite the presence of Taye Diggs, it wasn’t that interesting to me.

MYL- go ahead and call him Shitner: I like crass and immature. The game isn’t that bad but the Shatmaster is the worst host ever.

Speaking of immature, I’m glad Daybreak is doing badly since I can’t see Lost. I say “neener-neener ABC- what did you expect?”

Hope you feel better soon, MYL. Oh and love the after show!
