Real Housewives of New Jersey: It Ain’t Over Til A Table Gets Flipped

But Ter’s not taking the rap for this one either – she informs Caro that she was mean to Mel and Kat because that’s who she really is, not because of Teresa. But Caro’s still apologizing. Then she goes on to explain how when Kat and Mel first joined the club, she did feel bad for Ter.

“Imagine if your sister and cousin came on the show and didn’t tell you,” Ter says to Caro. Mel jumps in to say that she did tell Ter, but I think she only told her after it was a done deal. From my extensive and very scientific internet research, it appears as though the only reason Bravo was interested in Mel in the first place was as a new foil for Teresa, and Mel knew it.

Regardless – Caro’s going to try and throw a little logic down on the table. Oooh, risky. And also, flawed. She tries to compare Kat and Mel coming on the show to Ter’s brining Dina back onto the show. But that doesn’t make sense. Dina was part of the show from the beginning. Kat and Mel scraped their ways in. Also, Ter and Dina have been friends from the beginning. Kat and Mel are brand new to Caro. Not that she was justified in hating them on behalf of Ter, but still…not exactly the “identical” scenario Caro seems to think it is.

And since she’s gone and brought Dina into the picture now – where do things stand with Bloodfeud #463? Caro and Dina do not speak, Caro informs us sadly. Between some more scientific research and our fabulous commenters, I think this one goes back to Dina’s Ladbybug charity. From what I can understand, Ladybug was started by all the Laurita girls, but once it was on TV Dina took credit for it on her own. According to internet lore, Jacquee got mad and started spreading rumors about the Ladybug thing, and Caro didn’t stand up for Dina. Bloodfeud dissected.

Back to the Gorgas! We’re in the limo on the way to Beatstock (fist pump, yo!) and Gia is very rudely making fun of Mel’s song. It’s terribly unfair because she knows we can’t really make fun of an eleven year old back. And seriously – you mess with On Display, On Display, On Display…you mess with me. I loooooooove this song.

Gia mimics to the background of Ter reading bad reviews about Mel. Even Milania’s in on the act, talking about how Mel lip synchs. Then it’s the Mel montage, and I bet you she DVR’d this part and watches it every night before she goes to sleep. It shows her journey from the basement to the farm festival, with her telling us how she just keeps getting better and better. Well, there I’d have to digress. I’m pretty sure you piqued with everybody waiting on you to fall. Should have just kept them waiting on, waiting on, waiting on…

She tells us how much fun she had at Beatstock (fist pump!), how there were so many people there and she’s got a new song hitting the iTunes. It’s no On Display, I can tell you that much. But enough of that, let’s find out if Ter thinks Mel can sing without the help of Auto-tune. Because it looked like Mel was lip syncing every time, comments Ter. Well, Mel is more than happy to sing for her right then and there. “Will this put an end to it?” Mel asks Ter.

Melissa’s impromptu singing wasn’t bad and that threw Teresa off her game. I’m sure there are very few people who don’t sing to a track but they have some of the better voices. Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Adele, Jennifer Hudson. Melissa’s voice doesn’t compare those, but we already knew that. That’s being said I still don’t think that Ter thought Mel was going to sound that good.

Jaquee has to leave the show. Her storyline is no longer interesting and she doesn’t seem to be interested in the show anymore.

I do think they should shake the whole cast up. End the family feuds and go for the real rich folks in New Jersey.

RE: Ladybug– I read that also– its a Laurita family charity and Dina “managed” it and took sole credit on TV. I have always had the impression that Dina and Jaxx dont get along–no surprise.

Sigh…….I am glad this nonsense will be over next week– yes Chris Laurita we get that you are A-OK with strippers b/c Jaxx was one. Got it. And how delightful that Rickie will be on to make some disgusting comment about Kathy. I love when romance isnt dead at all. eeewwww

I agree with you Classy– time for a new cast. I’d like to see Dina Matos McGreevy–ex-wife of Jim McGreevy former Gov. of NJ. She would be awesome. And maybe its time for crazy-pants Danielle to return. I think Tiny and Jaxx helped get her off the show and since its time for them to go…

I sense that sadly this whole is coming back– they need the money. Except Kathy–I have always had the feeling that she and Richie are debt-free–well maybe the mortgage. Her home is modest compared to the other homes, as is her jewelry. Just a feeling that she handles her stuff—I totally admire her for that.
Another feeling is that–and I have said this often–I think they have never stopped filming. Tiny has tried to get a spin-off gig for Albie and Critterfur. That didn’t happen. And people dont like Lauren.

Oh well— thank you Chick-a-la for making sense of this clusterf&%#. All that screaming and yelling makes it hard for to drink my wine.

This is the worst franchise ever. They nail Teresa to the wall but God forbid anybody talks about the other issues, it is war.
Kathy went nuts when Teresa spoke about her marriage, yet the other four have spoken about Teresa’s marriage and Joe’s infidelities the whole season, not 1 minute, the whole season.
Caroline, has the guts to talk about family ties and loyalties when half of her siblings do not speak to her, not only Dina (who C is trying to pin on Teresa) but other siblings (who is she going to blame for this).
Jac goes balistic with Teresa for not being a good friend, are you kidding me? you have shown that can’t be trusted because when you are drunk you go three sheets to the wind and spill all the beans. BTW until you give the name of the “friend” who told you that Teresa manipulated the set up, is best for you to be quiet. Could you please give us some details of your bankrupcy, after all we “deserve to know”, right?
Teresa, I swear I wish somebody would let you borrow their brain so you can put two sentences together, you are so incoherent, that is why Andy and Bravo take advantage of your stupidity because you can’t defend yourself. Please get rid of that husband of yours, sometimes is better to be alone and I pray that the judicial system will make the decision for you and he will be away for a long while.
Melissa, the worst for last, not only did you plotted behind your SIL back to come into the show, shared information with Danielle to trash your SIL, sent a video to promise to take her down, now you want to be the victim too? You are so fake and rehearse is not even funny. You are too old to be a singer but I can see that your acting skills could be put to good use. Your comment about “I don’t want my kids to go to the same school with her kids” is the nastiest, ugliest and most hurtful thing that I have heard in any of the franchises, you witch if there is such a thing as karma you have it coming in spades.

Classydrunk(love typing that BTW) I agree Melissa’s voice was surprisingly good. They do need to shake up the cast.

I really think Teresa is jealous of the marriages of her family. She is lonely. Her brother does talking heads about how hot Melissa is and always wanting the poison out of him. Her husband won’t do talking heads and calls her names on camera. Richie loves Kathy and states it a lot.

Jealousy is the root of all evil.

Teresa is on her own “journey”.

Call it the “Bethenny Frankel Syndrome” that success can be yours too if you know how to clear your path of anyone perceived to be standing in your way. This is the goal of all these women who sign up for this crap and will stoop to any level to make it happen.

Teresa has talked trash about Melissa since the day Joe Gorga married her. Long before this show was even a “glimmer” in their eye. It carried over into the series because it offered “drama” that keeps pitting one against the other even to the detriment of family relations because this is who Teresa is.

Melissa saw the opportunity to both promote herself and “get even” with her vicious sister in law and between the two of them have managed to destroy whatever family relations might have been salvaged had they both put their hatred aside for the sake of the kids.

Teresa insisted that Jacqueline and Caroline “take sides” against Kathy and Melissa and even they got sick of her “diva” attitude which is most apparent during these horriffic “reunions” which has everyone at each other’s throats.

Teresa was determined to make this “all about her” while the others – as determined to make it “all about them” – got pushed aside.

They all lie but pretending that Teresa is a “victim” is missing the point. She is willing to “take them all down” if it means a way for her to be called a “star” regardless of the damage caused to the family she insists she “loves”.

Teresa hates Melissa because Melissa is a carbon copy of Teresa. In a nutshell.

The Jersey cast should quite frankly be embarrassed. You look at the NY reunion and there wasn’t the screaming and yelling but enough drama to keep us interested. The NJ reunion exhausted everyone, Andy, the viewers, and probably the cast. This same thing happened with NY last season and Jill, Cindy and Alex got the ax. NJ should have paid attention. I wouldn’t mind getting to know new girls at all.

I mean these ladies don’t even lunch and ALL the housewives lunch. Even if they don’t eat (Beverly Hills and OC)

When Rosie came out to Kat’s kids I think the whole world felt for them. Since we’d all gone through that exact same kind of shock. 1st with Ricky Martin. And then again with Anderson Cooper.

(I know the Rosie scene was an earlier date than Anderson. But the world knew that shock was coming sooner or later)

If there was even a scrap of chance the reunion might get Kat a last minute reprieve. As soon as “pain nobody here can understand” came out of her face. That scrap pulled its own life support plug out of the wall. And stomped off to scrap heaven mad as hell.

I think these women have pretty much ruined any chance of any good housewife from associating with this franchise. I think Jersey as a housewife location should be put on the back burner, focus on the other franchises and revisit Jersey in a year or two with a whole new cast.

Teresa what other show would you have gone on if Melissa was the first on the show?

Teresa, shouldn’t every person that has ever worked at Macy’s be mad at your for copying them?

Lexy, yes Kathy went nuts, because that was a very low blow from Teresa. If you bothered to read Kathy’s blog, there is some truth to what Teresa said. I never saw any problems displayed in Kathy’s marriage, yet Teresa’s marital problems are shown on television for all of us to judge. Your bias is showing.

I just couldn’t get invested in the last cycle. The show was too staged, it seemed so unreal, and there was too much things going on behind viewers’ backs. I watched it, but if I skipped an episode, I didn’t even care to watch it some other time. The reunion is vile. There is nothing that can be explained or cleared, they all think they are right. We kinda knew that would happen, didn’t we? I am really done with RHNJ. Maybe, maybe if they change the cast – completely- I would consider coming back… I cannot stand any of the old cast members anymore. Watching Caro doing dishes or Melissa talking to Ryan Seacrest – soo boring. Farewell RHNJ. You won’t be missed by me…

Haven’t read the recap yet but I have to say a big diff between the NJ ladies and the NY ladies is that although there are factions, the NY ladies (present and past) have always been more independent than the NJ girls. For example, although Heather was team carole and aviva, she was able to call Aviva on her vile behavior when necessary.

I would say that is true of all the ladies too, even Ramona will admit when Heather has a point. Even back in the day, although Jill hated the blonde couch back in season 3 of NY, both she and Luann would confront Kelly when she had said something insane or untrue, and Luann esp called her out on contradicting herself.

With NJ its like you do NOT speak against the coven, eveerrrr!!! For example with the Kathy/Tre argument, Kathy really did start the whole thing by name calling Teresa’s parents (who are Melissa’s own in laws!) and Melissa said nothing but as soon as Tre said what she did, Melissa put on the false concern face and said ‘no you don’t go low” or something to that affect. Calling her mother and father in law a liar and coward is not ‘going low’? (I’m not insinuating that what Tre said was better or worse than what Kathy said)And that is one of many many MANY examples of double standards I’m picking up on upon second viewing. You can continue to hate Tre legitimately but when you selectively pick and choose which things to call out based on who’s speaking at the time you lose credibility in my book, particularly when its 4 on 1. And the thing is, if they wouldn’t do that Tre wouldn’t be so sympathetic to so many people. They’re contributing to the Tre fan base by ganging up on her

I mean, love Teresa or hate her, how in hell has Jac not spoken up about Melissa contacting Danielle when she got upset when Tre tweeted ‘thank you’ to Danielle for revealing the info. I wish Andy would have asked Caro/Jac what they thought about that when it came up, to see what kind of answer they would have come up with. I think Caro would have been more honest actually

First, let me put my two cents in – Tre, Melissa cooks a whole lot better than you sing. (and before anyone jumps on me, remember the episode where Gia inhaled the pork cutlets Melissa made her and asked for more)

Do I wish Kathy hadn’t called Tre’s mom a liar? Sure, but I can understand her doing it in the context of what was happening. Kathy had just denied to Tre that she and Richie had almost gotten divorced. And Tre’s comeback? My mom told me. Kathy should have said “Your mom is mistaken” but things were already heated. Tre had just called Kathy garbage and a piece of shit and gagged about Richie’s teeth. And I’m sure Kathy (as sensitive as she seems to be) is still stinging from Tre’s mom coming down her throat over unattended babies. (which baby, by the way, was unattended)

When Tre says these things that aren’t necessarily true, or can’t be proven to be true, it’s always “someone told me”. Even the comment about Melissa leaving Joe. Teresa didn’t say that. She was just telling Joe that that’s what someone else said. She never takes responsibility. For anything. Yet, she demands to know who was feeding Jac information. And since Jac wouldn’t narc out her friend to Tre, Jac must have been in on the set up. The person set up, Melissa, saw the text and unless Jac’s phone is way different than mine, if you read a text, the sender’s name is right there.

ok loved the recap! not sure why but this had me laughing out loud:

“Why I am here?” wonders Brown Smurf, punctuated by a burp.

Teresa and Joe strike me as people who lie so often that either they start to believe their own lies OR they believe that if no one can disprove it they will stick to it forever. Esp Joe. How is his response for everything ‘who cares?’. Who cares about his creditors, who cares if he cheated, who cares if he’s going to jail. On the flip side I could see him being really fun to get drunk with if he wasn’t so vile.

Teresa definately did attack some of the other’s marriages during the reunion so she can’t deny that. However, the accusation that she attacks first is inaccurate, didn’t both Caro and Jac make comments about her marriage being fake during their talking heads? So basically they’re all assholes for attacking eachother’s marriages and no one has the high ground there, except for maybe Kathy who I don’t recall saying anything like that all season.

Finally, personally I can see why Tre and Mel mutually hate eachother (they’re practically the same person, with Melissa being smarter) but I don’t get Tre’s hate for Kathy. At times it seems she hates Kathy more than anyone and atleast on camera, we haven’t seen or heard about anything Kathy’s done to warrant that

respect your opinion but I disagree

“Say what you will, but imo..calling her mother a liar after she actually lied & her father a coward after he cowardly walked away isn’t the same as saying your dead father never did shit for you. But again..just MY opinion”

How do we know who’s lying? You’re assuming Kathy is telling the truth but how do we know they didn’t have problems and that Tre’s mom didn’t tell her that, because Kathy said so? By that logic do you believe Joe never cheated on Tre? I agree that Tre shouldn’t have brought her mother into it by the way and probably opened her up to Kathy calling her a liar.

“Also…can you imagine what else Teresa’s loving mom has said about Kathy off air? Why would Kat go & try to speak with her it that was the ONLY thing the woman has said negatively about her? I’m pretty sure she prob went over because of some other hateful shit she said about her”

There’s a LOT of speculation in that statement. Kathy herself said she went over to smooth things over about going onto the show. Seems like you’re willing to assume facts in Kathy’s favor because you believe her. That’s fine but lets call it what it is, not pretend that its a fact.

“Say what you will, but imo..calling her mother a liar after she actually lied & her father a coward after he cowardly walked away isn’t the same as saying your dead father never did shit for you. But again..just MY opinion”

How do you characterize her father walking away as cowardly when we don’t know the context. Maybe he figured he’s her uncle and doesn’t want to argue? Maybe he figured he’s a man arguing with a woman and would leave it to his wife? We can all speculate depending upon whom we favor, but again you make your statement as though its fact that he walked away ‘cowardly’.

And if we’re going to discuss it lets not start exaggerating what was said, which I try not to do. Tre’s exact words were ‘my father was there for them more than their own dad’, not ‘your dead father never did shit for you’ which is a lot worse I would say.

I say all this not to defend Tre, again, I’m team no one here, and I can see all of them for their faults, if you check my comments you can see I’ve criticized them all. My point was only that Melissa chose to chastize Tre when she said something vile while ignoring something vile that Kathy said before Tre’s comment. What they say about EACHOTHER is one thing (Tre calling Kathy disgusting, Caroline calling Tre disgusting etc.). They are on the stage and can defend themselves. But to insult parents (and I’m speaking about all of them, both kathy and Tre) is taking it too far, but the ladies seem to only chastize Tre for it. That was my point, nothing more nothing less.

Teresa leans on the “people say this to me” ALL the time! I think she even used it to excuse what the kids were saying about the lip syncing. Its complete BS and another example of her thinking she’s pulling one over on everyone, just like her perfect marriage and life we are all jealous of.

Agree with everyone that this franchise just isn’t fun anymore. The NY reunion reminded me of what the show is capable of being when the average IQ of the cast isn’t 40. Its definitely time for a shake up.

It’s like in a court of law. Once you are caught in a lie, your whole testimony is suspect; whether the rest of what you are saying is the truth or not. Tre has been so vile, and been caught over-reacting to so many things, and stretching the truth (ahem – lying) so many times that Kathy gets all benefit of the doubt from me. So if Kathy says that Tre’s mom is lying – she’s lying. Boy – that spelling of lying sure doesn’t look correct.

    Totally fair Mimo

Also if we’re going to be technical about how the confrontation got started, Kathy actually accused Teresa of only calling her to complain about her (Teresa’s) in laws. Teresa said that was a lie and responded that Kathy only called her to complain about her (Kathy’s) marriage. When Kathy said that was a lie, that is when Teresa said, “My mom even told me”.

I was focusing in on the part about the parents because that is when it really got out of line and Kathy specifically started the name calling there, first calling her aunt a liar. Even if I concede that that was because arguably, the aunt lied about Kathy’s marriage, she went further by calling the uncle a coward, which came out of nowhere.

@Lauren…”How do we know who’s lying? You’re assuming Kathy is telling the truth but how do we know they didn’t have problems and that Tre’s mom didn’t tell her that, because Kathy said so?”

I’ll believe her over a woman who has admittedly had nothing to do with her before the show! All of a sudden, Kathy is going to confide in an aunt she’s not close too?

“There’s a LOT of speculation in that statement. Kathy herself said she went over to smooth things over about going onto the show. Seems like you’re willing to assume facts in Kathy’s favor because you believe her. That’s fine but lets call it what it is, not pretend that its a fact.”

Kathy never said she went over to ‘smooth things over about going on the show’ because Kathy rightfully believes she doesn’t owe anyone an explanation for taking an opportunity..so there’s that. Also? Me saying ‘I bet’ is not ‘pretending that it’s a fact’ it’s me drawing a conclusion based on what I’ve seen of their relationship.

“How do you characterize her father walking away as cowardly when we don’t know the context.”

But you can say he say it wasn’t cowardly without said context? Um…ok. Teresa said: “Say that to my father” Kathy said: “I tried to talk to him but he walked away” In her eyes that makes him a coward…what am I missing here?

“And if we’re going to discuss it lets not start exaggerating what was said, which I try not to do. Tre’s exact words were ‘my father was there for them more than their own dad’, not ‘your dead father never did shit for you’ which is a lot worse I would say.”

You mean let’s not start exaggerating Teresa’s behavior right? Teresa telling ANYONE that HER dad did more for them than THEIR dad is in fact implying he’s a dead beat dad and it was probably based on that one time her dad loaned his sister money not actual facts since they don’t matter to Teresa. Pretty sure if she were asked HOW her father did more from them she’d probably say something like..”Well, my dad said he did”

Word it anyway you want, but Teresa is vile & I find it humorous that you’re advising ME not to do EXACTLY what you did in your response…Are we done here? Great…that was fun!

From a topic WAAAAAAAAY at the beginning…sometime around season one it was mentioned that Dina and Chris were really close and then Chris started dating Jaxx and Dina kinda got a little ill at Jaxx for taking him away.

    I think.

    Don’t quote me.

    But damn that sounds familiar….

    @fancyface

Wow testy for someone who initially commented on MY comment which was directed at no one in particular. I thought my response to you was pretty respectful. Don’t @ people if you don’t want responses.

Oh yes I’m done if you are but I’ll leave you with this from Kathy’s Blog from last week:

“When I was first interviewed for RHONJ, I went to discuss the possibilities and my intentions with my aunt and uncle. I had a very long, nice talk with my aunt and she agreed with me. We came to an amiable understanding. I had also hoped to speak to my uncle that day but he just walked out. While I admit that “coward” was a very mean thing to say, I was so disappointed in how he acted towards me.”

Again, if you don’t have the facts, just say ‘I don’t know.” When you make statements that are clearly false or based on what ‘you bet’ you lose credibility.

I never said Tre’s father wasn’t a coward, how can I possibly have an opinion on that? What I said was to call him a coward is an insult just as what Tre said about Kathy’s father is an insult. Do you want to dispute that? One is not a fact and the other an insult, because you dislike Teresa, they both are.

    - you love to throw the word ‘bias’ and inaccurate around to describe people’s opinions so I’ll just let your own words speak on their own since they’re obviously completely objective:
“and it was probably based on that one time her dad loaned his sister money not actual facts since they don’t matter to Teresa”

Finally, AGAIN, my point was not that Teresa is NOT vile so I’m not sure what the point of that statement is. I said the NJ ladies are not independent the way NY is, that’s it! Can’t make it any more clear so I’m done.

All season Melissa went on about how she never went to the tabloids. Just as the first part of the reunion aired, I see Melissa on the cover of Us Weekly. Subsequently she has gone on more tabloid covers. Seems like every time I go food shopping, another tabloid with Melissa appears.

    Hypocrite much?

Actually, Kathy started the whole scene by telling Teresa she doesn’t even like her in laws because she called to complain about them. And then Teresa responded by pointing out that Kathy also doesn’t like her in laws and she and Richie almost divorced because of it.

    Sheesh. Trees? Forest? Anyone?

my ONLY 2 cents will be to get rid of Jacqueline and Kathy, find 2 new house wives and a “friend”
if they want to save this show, Caroline said she wont return to that ugly in season 4, even though she’s been ugly most the show, if she tones it down i could tolerate it. Like it or not the manzo’s are a chunk of the show and getting rid of her might have a void. Plus with new housewives i’m sure the dynamics will be better, Melissa is a good foil for Teresa. the new housewives could be siblings or non related but Must have interesting family lives as well.

@ 39 Realhouse—I think a few “ladies” have been auditioning themselves all season–awful Heather (Kathy’s friend), Kim D., Tre’s friend (who was sat in the audience at Wendy Williams Show back in May and went to Katy’s dessert tasting–see that I remember-what is her name???), and any Laurita sister–I like Cookie–and Tre’s sister-in-law Sheila and Mel’s sisters. George Glass aka Cheerleader Lindey lost her shot when she and Albie “broke-up”.

Thank God the last reunion show is tonight –I know BRAVO will treat us to a few “missing footage” shows but I am done with this crew–s much yelling and bleeping. Maybe I am old (younger than Tiny tho) but Lordy–such foul mouths—and yeah Lapband Manzo–I am looking at you when I type this.

I actually turned of the closed caoption feature on my TV last night to read what they were saying b/c I couldn’t stand the yelling anymore.

Helpful but I still have no clue what happened.

    Gypsy…I do that also.

Juicy Joe…the great philosopher of RHONJ. “There’s that you know. He’s got it. You’s got it. What you gonna do? You say whatever. That’s the way it’s gots to be. There you go.”

    Turned *ON closed caption.

I should also carify that I also cannot hear b/c GBF is not yelling at the TV more than I am. It’s a hot mess all around.

What is up with the hand holding by Teresa and Juicy? Nothing says guilty like gratuitous hand holding like 7th graders.
