That seems to be how all of his stories start, doesn’t it? Anyway, he insists that the test should be sent to a lab, so the producer agrees and says they’ll update him.
A little while later, Grandpa is yammering on about his clean drug test, and how back in his day it was all about the opium, yadda yadda yadda. Swift notices that Needy is being awfully quiet and takes him aside for a chat. Needy tells him what happened, but insists that everything is fine and Swift hopes it’s something that was in his system before they arrived. Needy claims if anything is in his system, it’s a trace amount and he might not even be sent home, much to Swift’s relief.
The next day, it appears word of Needy’s failed drug test has spread. Mo’Rum asks when he did it, and Needy says it was the day before he came out there, for maximum plausibility with minimum punishability. She calls him a liar, saying that no drug stays in your system for two months. They go back and forth for a bit, but I think the important factor here is that these are urine tests, not blood tests. I imagine things can show up in blood tests for much longer periods of time than they can in urine tests. I don’t have the time or energy to look up specific facts right now, but feel free to share any knowledge in the comments section. Not that I think any of you are druggies- you guys just always have the best knowledge on the most random stuff.
The real question is, how did Captain Needy get that six-months sober chip, and who do we call to get that revoked?
Swift tells us that since Chelsea is coming to visit Grandpa, he’s going to spend some time with RomCom and get her out of the house. Wow, that’s quite sweet of him. He manages to be a bit of a conundrum in his limited screentime.
Mo’Rum and Latoya order some product placement sandwiches, because you can get those even on a tropical island. Except that they have to go to the main island to pick them up, so they send poor Ginger.
At the gym, Needy is stressing out over his drug test and wants to know his fate. Grandpa pumps some iron while telling Needy not to beat himself up over it, invites Needy to hang out with him and Chelsea, and claims to have a “good feeling” about the whole thing.
Meanwhile, Ginger has returned with the sandwiches and is rewarded with a thank you dance from Latoya and Mo’Rum, until Latoya hears the word mayo and snaps into focus: “Yeah, did you get extra mayo?”
“If you didn’t, I take back that thank you dance. Can you go back and get some? You didn’t have any plans other than serving us today, did you?”
