This week on the Real Housewives of New Jersey, everyone stops pretending to get along long enough to entertain us. As Melissa Gorga would say, “Thank you, Jesus!”
It all starts with yet another tabloid magazine cover. I think this show should be cutting these magazines in on their profits because that’s where all the stories come from. This week, word on the supermarket checkout aisle is that Ter might be going to jail along with her husband, the Brown Smurf. Actually, I didn’t mean “going to jail” – I mean “going away”.
What the hell does this have to do with Jacquee? Nothing. Does this stop her from turning into a blubbering mess, commanding Ter to come to her house so she can confront her and completely flipping the f&%k out on her? Of course not!
What follows is a completely schizophrenic argument from Jacquee. She’s mad that Ter didn’t fill her in on any upcoming jail time. But she’s also mad that Ter won’t admit to getting paid for tabloid covers. Then Ter’s not asking about Moonface enough.
And then, in walks Caroline with a smirk and an iced latte.
Oh, I just stopped by to stay out of it.
Everything gets dragged into this fight, but it’s mainly about THE COOKBOOK. Ter also gets blamed for Caro’s whole family not speaking to her right now and most of the rest of the decline of modern civilization.
Let’s see, what else…no Rosie this week, but we do get Milania prancing around atop a fence in a gold lame` one shoulder ensemble. Despite being broke, the Guidices are doing construction in their backyard. We also revisit one of my favorite blood-feuds of all time, the UNATTENDED BABY INCIDENT.
And of course, no RHONJ episode would be complete without Mel’s picture perfect suburban family routine, performed live in the front yard of her mortgage-a-mansion.

I have never liked Teresa, but Caroline and Jacqueline and pieces of work. That ambush about things that were NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS IN THE FIRST PLACE was really something. I feel sorry for Teresa, and I never thought I would see the day. That whole confrontation with Teresa was truly ‘role playing’ and staged, they were so transparent. If I was Teresa I would have flipped them off and walked away. I suppose due to the whole televised thing she couldn’t do that (they have to interact by contract etc) but damn, that was messed up.

There is a marathon on today of the whole season. And youse guys know I am watching to get all caught up. Hey we can see some of Lauren’s “dramatic” (cough) weight loss and the dramam of her weight loss. Yeah lauren Manzo– I am getting tiored of you. I am still Team Lauren but I am doing South Beach and up at 5 am to walk for at least one hour. No Egg White diet for Cawfee!!!!! So stop whining

The whole Tre/Jacquee/Caro argument was ridiculous. I couldn’t even follow who was mad about what but I guess that’s par for the course with these nutbags!

@NWMTV, that is part of the problem. It does take will power and discipline to change your life style, as Lauren will need to do to lose weight and keep it off.
What I do think about Lauren is that her family members could be more supportive. Taking walks with her, eating a healthier meal with her, etc. I know if I have a friend on a diet and we do to dinner I will NOT ordered the chicken fingers and wings with ranch and fries. I’ll get the salad because I know that they are working on something that is difficult for them.
I’ve learned this from the Jennifer Hudson Jenny Craig commercials.

I think at the end of the day she has Alexis (from OC)’s problem…she is not overly malicious but she is just not good at defending herself….

Did you notice that when Tre arrived to J. house there was still light outside, but when Caro came, it was dark? In the meantime, we didn’t get that much of the conversation. I know it was all edited, but still… It seems like there were sitting there for quite a while…And all Tre got was a generic bottle of water. Not even a glass of wine, as she noticed…
What exactly do those Manzo kids do all day long? Caro acts like she’s Rose Kennedy and spawned a whole passel of future Presidents, Senators, lawyers and doctors, but in reality her kids are about as useless as jellybeans in a tuna casserole. And Jacqui has even less to crow about. That lump of rotting flesh, lip implants and hay for brains she calls her daughter couldn’t even get a McD’s order right.

With both Alexis and Teresa, folks think they’re malicious when they’re just not that good at comprehending why their words/actions upset folks even when folks tell them exactly why. Then, since they don’t seem to understand the others in the first place, they cannot vocalize a proper defense/response.

Carolina is SO annoying!! I wanted to smack her when she intruded on Jacqs argument. I had to give props to Teresa for not completely flying off the handle. While there was alot of yelling and what not I think she kept her cool relatively speaking . I think I would have reacted worse lol

It doesn’t matter who attacks who anymore. They’re all pretty much that black, smelly gunk that grows on the bottom of your recycling bin after about a year. The stuff that you keep thinking will just go away if you act like you don’t see it? You know what I’m talking about.
I did love Melissa’s ‘Jennie from the neighborhood’ moment. Just sittin’ on the stoop with her hag sisters at her feet, shootin’ the shit, watchin’ the kids the play, neighbors (Kathy) comin’ on by to sit a spell and talk… I was shocked when she didn’t start singing a la West Side Story. Because that is exactly what you do in front of the door of your Franklin Lakes McMansion. I also thought it was telling that as long as she had her horrible sisters there at her feet she had zero use for Kathy or her conversation. She could not have been more disinterested in anything Kathy was saying. She just finally told Kathy to go tell it somewhere else, all the while shooting looks at her sisters like, ‘can you believe I have to hang out with these people?’. I saw more of Melissa’s true personality in that one scene than I have in her entire stint on Real Housewives. That was the real Melissa right there. Suddenly I see what Teresa sees in her. She is truly insufferable. I don’t like Teresa any more than I ever have, but I get what frustrates her so much about Melissa and her ‘crew’. If that moved into my family I’d be aggravated too.
Yeah, the Manzo kids are useless. Caroline is SO proud of them. And the really weird thing is that they are all so full of themselves and somehow have convinced Lauren that she is the chunky ugly duckling of the bunch. They are ALL chunky, even after lapband surgery and NONE of them are anything to write home about. How they have convinced Lauren that she is the ‘fat’ one and not as attractive as her frankly very average brothers is beyond me. Caroline is so far up her ass about her sons it’s embarrassing. She pretty much says ‘I have two wonderful sons….and a daughter.’ She is the worst. How generous she is to spread her great parenting and family wisdom around to her friends (and the rest of us)! We are blessed to have her pearls of wisdom drop upon us! I think I hate her more than any one in any of the Housewives franchises. And those franchises included Vickie Gunvalsvon and Kelly Bensimon. So that should tell you something. No, wait, there were the horrible party crashers who shall not be named, I hate them more. But Caroline is second.
I have never understood how there exist “fans” of Teresa. And then every other cast member has just dropped lower and lower until Teresa has at least become sympathetic.
Caroline is a lurching, leering gargoyle of a person. She looks, glares and spews poison like a fairy-tale toad. And Lauren a little bile-burping frog growing up to be the next Madame Toad.

I still dont think Teresa is completely innocent and I have been team Melissa since last season… but she did have my sympathy with the Caro/Jaqc argument…they came across like mean girls and Jacq seems to be looking for any reason to break up with Teresa. Which is fine, dont be friends with her but try to atleast find a legit reason? Or just say you are too much drama…dont grill her for hours about some stupid magazine lol, IMO

I forgot to mention I was cracking up when the one Manzo brother was doing his talking head about Lauren’s chunkiness and her need to get her eating under control yadda yadda yadda and the ENTIRE time I couldn’t stop looking at his DOUBLE CHIN! Caroline has really deluded her sons into thinking they are the shit.
No, we aren’t deluded about Teresa or her sketchy relationship with the real world. We just don’t like the way Caroline and Jackie are obsessing over her and ambushing her right now. What they did on tonight’s episode (and what appears to be happening next week in the previews) is just shit-stirring to a ridiculous degree. Teresa may be awful, but she is mostly awful to herself. She is also in deep financial and legal trouble and has a difficult and probably abusive husband to deal with and may be raising the antichrist. Jackie and Caroline are purposely trying to force Teresa to talk about financial and legal matters on national television that she is probably well aware she needs to keep her mouth shut about. That’s just common sense. And I think she is mentally challenged (like Alexis) and doesn’t really ‘get’ what people are saying all the time and is not good at defending herself. She’s horrible, but she isn’t the calculatingly evil horrible that Caroline is. You know?

Caro and Jacqui have Tre’s number and have had it from day one. They always knew she was barely literate and pretty much a thug. They have used her for all kinds of comic purposes over the course of this shit show and watching their fake outrage over her “betrayal” of them is just too much to bear. Jacqui has been my most loathed of all the housewives in all the cities from the time she drunkenly followed Tre out to the parking lot to “stay out of” the fight between Tre and Danielle. The little toad stirs up shit wherever she goes, and — what I find totally unforgiveable — turns into a resentful little baby whenever anyone says anything hopeful or positive about her useless daughter.
@Speaking of Manzos/lazy ness didn’t Lauren just get lap band? While I think she will never really be thin/keep the weight off because she is too lazy, i do feel bad that her brothers are up on such a high pedestal for no apparent reason and she gets a lot of shit.
Seriously tho she has all the resources in the world and it is sad that she couldnt motivate herself to lose weight.

It was kinda funny when Caroline’s husband said: “Don’t worry honey daddy will buy you a lap band.” According to one of those evil tabloids Lauren did indeed get the lapband.
I thought the fight was silly. Caroline’s entrance obviously staged. I almost feel sorry for Teresa. They kinda ganged up on her like they did Danielle. I miss Danielle she was the perfect “villain” and where’s Kim G? But yeah I wasn’t feeling that fight. It was none of Jacqueline’s business. The look on Teresa’s face was so WTF.
Haven’t seen this epi yet and am watching the marathon now. Saw Instyle or People or some cover at the airport today. Lauren had some kind of surgery and lost 30 lbs. I agree with you all that it’s terrible how the Manzo family is down on HER for being overweight. That and the “my boys are second only to the pope” shit that Caro spews really wears on a person and she sure as shit will have issues with that down the road. I think Lauren’s a pretty girl and she’s the only one of the Manzo spawn with a mate!
Quick weight loss is a temporary fix. She needs to change her eating habits with a program like Weight Watchers. She can still eat pasta and stuff but she needs to learn how. A lap band isn’t going to change a lifetime of bad eating choices.

Jackie the Nosy and Caroline the Tiny strike again! That whole scene was ridiculous, if Teresa wants to keep her business HER BUSINESS, the Manso’s should stay out if it. Teresa doesn’t owe them anything, they are supposed to be FRIENDS, Nosy and Tiny are not her husband or parents. She owes them nothing. Not saying Teresa is perfect either, she’s far from it. But the Manzo’s and their entitlement issues are way out of control. They need to back off, and mind their own.

I mean, seriously, did I see a different argument than every one else? I saw a friend confronting another friend about all the lies she’s told her & then said friend denying any knowledge of even having those conversations. Teresa, while a little slow, knows exactly what she’s doing & is the biggest liar I’ve seen in awhile. Do we not remember her saying that she in fact get paid for those covers & now she’s acting like Jacquee pulled that out of her ass. We’ve also seen her say, when they don’t agree with her, that THEY are crazy & traitors? And what exactly was wrong with Jackie calling her a hypocrite for saying anything SHE did in the past needs to be forgiven, but Melissa talking to Danielle 2 years ago can’t be forgotten? That sounded like a reasonable comparison to me. Ter is a liar & when she’s confronted she lies more or starts telling about people turning their back on her. Sorry if I can’t sympathize with her finally being called out for her bullshit.. Jacqueline WAS a good friend to her & as a friend, I feel like she has a right to be hurt when she’s constantly being lied to. If Teresa were truly her friend, then she’s right, tell the world what you want but don’t lie to me. I believe if Teresa were truly honest with her behind the scenes, Jackie wouldn’t feel the need to discuss these things with her on camera.
And I’m sorry, but the way Teresa always dismisses her issues with Ashley is disgusting to me. Every time Jackie brings up the fact that she feels like Teresa is never there for her when SHE needs a friend, she gets this irritated look on her face & says shit like ‘oh you mean the Ashley thing’, as if it’s not as important as whatever it is she has going on. If you have too much shit on your plate to be there for her, fine, but don’t take your shit to her either. IMO, she’s a shitty person. Period.So why Jackie is taking heat for confronting her dumbass is beyond me!
@22 Toad– I think Lauren’s problem is that she quits too easily ( I think I have stated that before). If the reward isn’t fast enough or not enough pay off she quits. She dumped her Beauty Bar biz at Chateau the day after the opening b/c she felt she “wasn’t getting the respect she deserved”. We all know in “Lauren speak” it means the receptionist of Chateau won’t grab her coffee or water or pick up her lunch order.

I’ve never heard Chris brag about his looks, he worked his ass off @ their business during his 1st seasons and then as a bartender, & I like his self deprecating humor. Do we not remember the talking head of him saying he doesn’t know where his mom got the’he’s skinny’thing from because he knows he’s gaining weight? Albie has also shown humbleness when discussing his mom’s gloating & he’s very supporting of his sister. They joke & laugh at each other because they’re family & that’s what families do, but they’re definitely there for each other. Lauren is a bitchy little thing & could stand to take it down a notch but the harshness towards a young woman struggling with body images as soooo many girls are, is a bit much. I’m definitely sick of hearing about her dieting, but when you sit down for an interview, you’re answering questions & what do you think she’s being asked during her talking heads? I get it, what the hell else does the Manzo clan have going on? So of course that’s what she’s talking about?
I think they’re funny & provide comic relief to this dribble. You can always count on Chris fit his zingers. They aren’t rude to the Guidice, but of course they make fun of then behind their backs…who doesn’t? So because of that, they’re evil? I don’t get it. oh, and the scene with Melissa, Kathy, and the witch of Jersey. At some point when Kathy was talking about Tre , Mellisa pulled out a compact and started re-applying her make up. I felt like she read a cue: now act like you don’t care. That’s Drama 101 from community college mid-semester charity play at its best!
@Sparkle – my sentiments exactly. Tre doesn’t owe them an explanation. I understand that they want their friend to be truthful, but what you see is what you get from Teresa. We’ve all known the deal since Season 1, why are her “friends” acting like it’s a big surprise? I tend to lead a very private life. I have up to three friends I’ll really unload to when times are tough. Other than that, I’m not a fan of airing my dirty laundry.
Um, no matter how annoying you find Caroline, you might need to find it in your heart to still hate Teresa. She cares not how many people she hurts as long as she can get a new garage with an apartment for her parents. And if she has to drown further in debt to do so and not pay the people again, then it’s their faults for not expecting her to go on with her life. (Teresa logic, not my own.)
I’ll save my wrath for the Manzo children until after I find out how my own children turn out. I may not be raising such hot stuff myself.
Actually, I agree that Chris Manzo is kind of likeable, if still completely and utterly useless. He has no pretensions about anything and I bet he’s a better lay than his pretty-ish brother. It’s all relative. I predict the Manzos will do their best work as fertilizer whenever the good lord, or fate, or a tsunami hitting NJ so dictate.
And I’m not getting the Theresa sympathy. When she squawks and screeches, and starts to wave her hands, she looks like a bat. But bats are cool because they eat bugs and are part of the natural order of things. Theresa doesn’t even do that.
I, also, am a somewhat private person. That being said, I don’t expect my friends to have my back in all occassions, especially when I’ve lied to them and continue to lie when confronted. Friends share, good and bad. If I don’t trust my friends with the bad, I shouldn’t really call them my friends. I think that’s where Jac was coming from. I don’t think she was just being nosy, I think that she wanted to clearly define her view of the paramenters of friendship. When that included honesty, Tre knew that the friendship was done. Let’s not forget her blindsiding Danielle, just ’cause she “wanted to say hi”.
I don’t have quite a hard on for Caroline as the rest of you. I actually think that the “gems of wisdom” she sometimes imparts are pretty straitforward and she seems to have raised her children using many of them. And as someone pointed out earlier, her kids do seem a lot more balanced than the rest of them we’ve seen on reality TV. Chris did bring up in one of his talking heads that he’s chunked up quite a bit and best be doing something about it. My biggest problem with Caroline are the blinders she wears regarding her childrens’ success and that boy children are more valuable than girl children. But in both instances, I have relatives with the same problem. My niece graduated with a Master’s in some unusable major. Now works at Best Buy. But, she’s worth more than the rest of us, because she has a Masters.
After watching Tre and Joe on WWHL last night, I like them even less.
@sardini…I get your point….sorta. There’s nothing wrong with being a private person & not airing your dirty laundry, but let me ask you this….Are you on a reality tv show? Yeah…that really doesn’t fly when it comes to someone who is.
If you’re a friend to someone, actually be a friend! And unlike some of you, if you’re going to lie to & deceive me I don’t want to be your friend. She’s said that Jackie is her BEST friend, do you treat your best friend that way? Do you blatantly lie to your friends over & over and then call them crazy for expecting you not to? Do you call your friend’s character out anytime they disagree with you? Do you dismiss your friend’s problems because you don’t deem them as important as yours? Do you overlook anything your friend may be dealing with to call focus you?
You said that you don’t owe your friends anything but I beg to differ. You owe them a hellof a lot because good friends are hard to come by. If you don’t want to discuss your life with your friends then don’t, but don’t lie to them about it & expect them not to be hurt by it.
It’s puzzling to me that everyone thinks that Teresa’s BEST friend that she’s confided in about these issues has no right to confront her when those issues are found to be lies.
If Teresa wants privacy for her private issues, get the fuck off of tv. She is nothing but a manipulating c-bag.
I think Jaqui is using this as an excuse to separate from the show before she files bankruptcy of her own. I’d read for a while now that Chris’ company is in trouble and has filed bankruptcy before. Jacqui is way too unstable and I’m not sure if it comes from fretting over Teresa’s payment by tabloids. And Caroline…sorry, I hate Caroline so much more than I hate Teresa. I don’t even really hate Teresa because her little zingers are harmless while the bile that Caroline spews is so full of hate and bitterness, she’s about to explode through her eyes.

The olive garden is Italian-Amerian and Caroline is as well. She, nor her children, have ever set foot in Italy, and I’m not sure her parents were even born there. Plus, the woman mixes her red wine with Diet Coke. What part of the game is that? How can you be offended when someone who is first generation American, with Italian-born parents, that visits Italy every year, and speaks fluent Italian, wants to makes a cultural distinction? I mean, compared to all of that, Caroline isn’t Italian. She’s of Italian descent, yes, but she’s as American as apple pie.
And remember the blind item early last year about how once Teresa and Joe filed bankruptcy, Caroline distanced herself from them? Caroline doesn’t socialize with people “not on her level” which is why she was hard on Danielle from the start. Remember she said, “Until I get to know someone, I don’t like them.” She is the most hateful of the bunch. I couldn’t imagine the Manzo boys bringing any girls around, Caro would ice them out with the quickness.

My favorite part of WWHL is when they came back from commercial and Juicy ‘apologized’. Who wants to bet Miss Andy pulled him aside on the break and forced that out of him!
I have no sympathy for Tre though I do hate all of this shows when they gang up on one person. I feel like Jac has her own shit to deal with (Asslee) and was tired of her so called best friend lying to her.
Theresa is narcissistic and delusional. Everything has to be about her all the time. She is always trying to put herself in the best light and never takes responsibility for her actions or words. When confronted she blames the other person for having the gaul to question her. With her limited vocabularity and poor insight, does anyone think she wrote any of her cookbooks OR her blogs on Bravo?
I think she is a bit overbearing and controlling with her kids, but I have to respect Carolyn for calling Theresa on her BS. Noone else seems to be able to call her on her hypocrisy with her brother and Melissa. The someone who is insanely jealous is Theresa, not Melissa. Does anyone else find it kind of creepy that Theresa wants to be so close to her brother in the first place? When you get married, your spouse comes first-enough said.
The fact that Carolyn lets herself be filmed without makeup among all these plastic primadonnas also earns her some respect from me.

I said that for Teresa, making a cultural distinction between someone who is raised speaking the language, visiting Italy often, and having parents who were born and raised in Italy and someone who is of Italian descent, meaning they do no speak the language, has never visited Italy, and has grandparents who were born there is a valid distinction to make.

A lot of shit talking has gone both ways and both sides have great reason to end their “friendships”, now that the Laurita/Manzos are turning on Ter – but in general I would hope real friends would cut someone a little slack while going through horrible things like bankruptcy and jail danger etc. That slack may include not dragging her through the mud and forcing confessions while filming. Asking for information is a friend’s right, but on camera is adding to the witch hunt and its mean.

That episode where they went to her hometown — the others were screeching and moaning about walking uphill and having to deal with a real Italian family. Jaq was just so…werid this ep. First there’s the macBook conference call with Ashley’s dad “oh boo hoo, Ashley stresses me out so let me be super cute and grab some Bailey’s!!” Eck. I TOTALLY get & here’s why…I have teenagers & when they get in trouble, sometimes it’s IMPOSSIBLE to understand why (i.e..you can no longer drive your sister to practice because you leave & go see your friends when I said not to..teenager: ‘but why’), so sometimes we role play to make our point (which they hate btw, which of course makes it fun for us
). Now seeing as how they were dealing with someone of the same mindset who never gets what she does wrong….totally appropriate imo. When what they’re saying never penetrates the wood, I can see why trying that came in. Therapists actually recommend it when trying to get someone to see where you’re coming from. And any parents dealing with crazy teenagers I STRONGLY recommend it as a form of retaliation when they’re being dumb! Seriously! They HATE that shit! Lmbo….ahhh good times!

I think I have varying levels of contempt for all the housewives (except Kathy who seems innocuous). Teresa is a delusional, lying, scheming nutbag with an unhealthy obsession with her brother. In addition to all that she’s a hypocrite. That said, there’s no one to root for on these shows because when they gang up on her it makes them seem like unfeeling, opportunistic mean girls. I agree that if the convo had been between Jacqui and Teresa alone it would have been more acceptable, but why do these middle aged women feel the need for back up in every confrontation. Even if Caroline did coincidentally ‘show up’, she sould have excused herself from what seemed like a private convo. I didn’t notice Caroline telling Teresa her issues when they spoke on her front steps when Teresa pulled her aside to apologize.
And then their little role playing bullshit where Caroline says that if Teresa had shown her the comments in the article she would have understood. I think we all know thats a lie. Caroline will take any opportunity she can to fight with Teresa. Didn’t she just say the apology on the front steps was empty? What would have made her apology at the wedding any different?
Don’t get me started on shit stirring extraordinaire Jackie (no I will not be consistent in the spelling of her name) who I think I might like the least. There’s something about her whole fragile, innocent victim act that just annoys me, even in some of her interactions with useless Ashley. I’m no Ashley fan but I remember scenes in which Chris had calmed down the tension and then Jackie would yell something antagonistic to Ashley from the other room and then act all shocked when Ashley would react. If anything Ashley gets her victim attitude from her mother.
THEN she has the nerve to claim that Chris wasn’t laughing at Joe G.’s comment about Greg’s loose butthole but at Joe’s ignorance. Just. . .stop Jackee. No one’s buying it. You’re husband, although generally a great guy, laughed at an offensive joke. Better people have done the same.

I’m also not buying Melissa’s perfect, innocent housewife mother, good sister in law act. While Teresa is a lot to deal with, I don’t think Melissa has been completely innocent. I do find it odd that she schemed to come onto a show knowing there was bad blood with her SIL who is one of the stars. Obviously that is going to cause conflict. And before she was even on the show she was tweeting Danielle who hates Teresa. I know it was 2 years ago but that is some sneaky shit. It’s one thing to dislike her but to giver her enemy ammunition to use against her is just scheming. And now all of a sudden she’ll just keep turning the other cheek with Teresa while slyly getting in little digs. Exhibit A from her recent blog:
“Some of you have asked if it bothers me when the framer tells my husband that Teresa wants to put the same carport on her house that we have. It doesn’t bother me at all. I know it would bother her if I was making a replica of hers, but I’m not like that.”
Was there really a need to mention that it would have bothered Teresa and that you’re above all that? That exchange between the framer and Joe in and of itself seemed suspicious to me, as though they asked him specifically to mention the similarities in their garages on camera. Maybe that’s just me though.

@Lauren: Thanks for pointing out Jacqui’s “fragile victim” act. It’s so inconsistent. I read on a blog somewhere how someone pointed out how Jacqui goes from fragile crybaby to full on rageaholic in 0-60 seconds. I hadn’t noticed it before, but it’s so true. The first season, she was all “I just wanna be Danielle’s friend but my mean family is bullying me to hate her.” Then at the finale, she blew up at Dina, and we were all like “Where did that come from?” Then second season, she was a whimpering mess over Ashley. Yet when she saw Danielle in at the Posche fashion show, she goes chasing Danielle down the hall and then standing in front of the car Danielle is hiding in as if preventing it from driving away? We also hear how she cold-clocked Caroline in the face and we see how she had to be restrained from attacking Danielle at the season 2 reunion? I mean, it’s all so inconsistent. Will the real Jacqui/Jackie please stand up?
On a side note: It’s my theory that no one can survive three seasons as a Housewife and not become hated by the masses. I guarantee you that if Melissa and Kathy stick around next season, they will become despised by all/most. Familiarity breeds contempt.

@sarcastire I completely agree with everything you said about them not being Italian. I am italian, I have lived in Rome pretty much all my life and I know this show because I sometimes watched it during my exchange semester in the states. I get so offended when these people call themselves Italian, 100% Italian, real Italian…. and when they justify their awful behavior by saying that’s just the Italian way. I can promise you that no Italian I’ve ever met would ever behave like them. They wouldn’t go on a TV show like that, for starters, but I’m not even going to go there. I know plenty of Italians who go to therapy and saying that Italians don’t believe in it is rude, not true, and I would really like to know how these people would know anything about what Italians really think. All of the are as American as it gets, and the Manzos especially really get on my nerves because they don’t even speak the language. Teresa at least does, and I will say that one Italian thing about her is her temper. Caroline, on the other hand, wouldn’t find a single friend in Italy if she behaved the same way there.

I agree Classy Drunk! Theresa is a moronic, delusional, pathological, hypocrite. I had an “aha” moment during the confrontation…she will never get it. Theresa’s IQ (which I honestly believe is faaar below average) makes it impossible to reason with her. She has an answer for everything and her pea brain can’t allow her to process anything that forces her to rethink those answers. She’s sticking with them and thats it. Upon this realization, I actually felt a weird acceptance of her. By no means am I a Theresa fan, she is among my least favorite of ALL the housewives, but I realized that trying to make sense out of who she is and what she does and how she thinks will only prove frustrating just like it has for Jackie (who sucks in her own right). I can’t even imagine being forced to deal with such a person and if Melissa knew what was good with her, she’d stop with this trying to make peace act and just admit that she can’t stand Theresa whatsoever. I for one would understand completely!
This season was filmed while season 3 aired. I think that Jac and Caroline are upset with Tre because of they felt manipulated by her with the Melissa and Kathy situation. All last season Tre was telling them how bad Mel and Kathy were but she wanted to repair the relationship. Yet in her on-camera interviews, she says horrible things about them. Also her actions when she was not with Jaq and Caroline go totally against what she was saying about wanting to repair the relationship.
The problem is that Jaq and Caroline probably can’t say that they are mad at her because of the things that she said and did during the show because they are not supposed to have seen the show. I think that the magazine articles and the cookbook are convenient items to use as a reason for being upset.
I agree that their should be a three-year limit on the “stars.” This season will be my last one. I long since stopped watching the other housewives shows. This season was my last b-ball wives season as well. After a while, you just stop liking any of the people on them. I don’t like feeling hatred for people that I don’t even know.

Dina is the only Housewife I even consider having respect for (she actually walked away; it gets more unbelievable with every new franchise) and she seems to be able to tolerate Teresa.

The Manzos did not have to pay for anything that happened in Punta Cana. I read on another blog that bravo lawyers swooped in as soon as arrests were made and cleared it all up. Everyone signed papers saying they wouldn’t sue or press charges, including the ‘opponents.’ Now, I hear they are claiming they signed them ‘under duress’ but that’s irrelevant, they have no case against anyone. And Caroline hating teresa over that would be silly. teresa opened a champange bottle that sprayed a patron. It was that patron’s choice to get aggressive and try to start a fight. If caroline is misplacing her anger by directing it at Teresa, then she is reaching. But as she blames teresa for the reason the rest of the family hates her (caroline), then we can see she loves to place blame where it doesn’t belong.
(Don’t forget she blamed danielle at the season 1 reunion for Chris Laurita and Dina not speaking.
