Who would point a gun at the lovable Johnny Bananas from Real World: Key West? The answer, it appears, is an old man. Elderly crimestopper Robert J. Sherman, 78, aimed a deadly firearm at the MTV reality star, all in the name of self-defense — or so he claims.

More info after the jump…The two men were allegedly involved in some sort of road rage bonanza that started when John’s girlfriend passed Sherman in a double yellow line road (idiot). After that, Sherman decided to trail the two, and when Johnny Bananas (née DeVenanzio) got out of his girlfriend’s car a few blocks later, the vigilant senior citizen brandished the weapon, perhaps in fear that John might hurl an inflatable doll his way. Police have charged Sherman with a first degree misdemeanor offense, and as for Mr. Bananas, he’s already been found guilty… of being wacky!
