WHICH IS MUSIC TO HIS EARS
WHM starts to cut Nolan’s throat when Emily tells him the location of a locker in which the evidence is located. WHM asks what’s to stop him from killing them now, and Emily says she could be lying or have programmed an email to the authorities. Emily tells him he has one hour.
WHM notices that the watch he took from Emily is engraved “To David, Forever, Victoria.” He comments that David never knew what hit him. WHM leaves to retrieve the evidence.
Emily must be hungry because she bites at her sleeve, revealing a lock pick. She lets herself and Nolan go. Emily tells Nolan that everything he needs is in his bottom desk drawer. Nolan refuses to leave Emily alone but she tells him that he owes her the opportunity to get her revenge alone. Nolan leaves her with the parting words, “Kick his ass.” Emily tells Nolan that if she doesn’t make it out alive to tell Jack she loves him.
Back at prep school, MiniFaux and Declan are talking about their Econ project when Charlotte walks up. Charlotte has used her magic hearing ears to be able to detect what they were talking about from 50 feet away and joins in the conversation. Charlotte gives them the key to dealing with the economics teacher and is being super nice.
TO THEIR FACES
Jack shows up at Grayson Global and gives Daniel back the check. Ashley walks up and implies that she knows something. Ashley pretends to be coy.
Charlotte arrives home and calls Dan Jenkins, a private investigator. She poses as Victoria and tells him that Charlotte is being bullied at school and asks Jenkins to investigate.
Conrad tells Lydia that he has to “disappear” for a while. He asks Lydia to come with him and present her with a honking big promise ring. Just like every other lovesick 6th grader.
The SEC guy, McGowan, is getting into his car when he gets a text telling him “the evidence” is in his trunk. It looks like the box taken from Conrad. Nolan watches from the street then crushes the cell phone from which he sent the message.
Emily is waiting with a big ass axe. WHM arrives back. WHM tells her she is mistaken about him being at fault for David because Conrad was supposed to take the fall for the plane crash. Emily tells him that is not why she is here. It is because WHM murdered her father.
A vicious fight ensues. During the fray, WHM tells Emily that her fire must have come from her mother, thereby calling David Clarke a wussy boy. Our girl holds her own, and ends up on top of WHM, choking him with the axe handle. She demands he look at her so that this will be the last thing he sees before he dies:
She begins remembering how she and her dad saved the bird. David tells her his favorite thing about her is how she loves everything and everybody and asks Emily to promise him she will never lose that. She begins to falter and lets WHM live. She tells WHM she just honored her father by allowing him to live.
Victoria is meeting with McGowan and tells him that Daniel was the one who gave him the evidence. McGowan tells her that Lydia has recanted her testimony. Victoria tells him that Lydia can be worked on. McGowan tells Victoria that the evidence shows that Conrad not only framed David Clarke, he contracted to have him killed.
THIS DOES NOT SIT WELL
Daniel is waiting at home when Emily arrives, telling him she hurt herself when she fell on the ice. Daniel is acting all pissy and tells her he knows Jack came by. Daniel asks her if she kissed him. Emily says she did. Daniel accuses her of pretending to love him to get the Grayson name, and Emily says she wanted to be with him despite the Grayson name. Daniel asks her what changed. She tells him she is not the person he fell in love with and that he is changing, too. She removes the engagement ring.
