Minicap: Revenge – Retribution

Revenge

Jack was definitely having some mood swings this episode, hmm?

Didn’t it seem like there was a lot of metaphorical/symbolic business going on in “Retribution”?  A cleaning house of a lot of the nonsense that had taken over the show this season?  Emily says (paraphrasing): “I can’t believe I let it get this far out of my control.”  And then “I don’t need the computer.  It just clouded my judgement.”  Even Daniel got wise by getting rid of that damn spycam clock.  Have fun with that extremely creepy gift, secretary lady!  Hope you keep it out of your bedroom!

This might have been the most contained episode of the season.  Pretty much just the basics with everyone in the main cast getting ample screen time (one scene for Ashley was perfect).  No Stowaway nonsense, although there was plenty of Jack and even Declan.  And they were both tolerable – Jack was even likable – because they served a purpose!  Very happy to see Jack in this new light.  Go get ‘em, tiger!

Trask heading the Initiative is a definite improvement on Helen and her roving town car.  Still not a fan overall, but it is an upgrade.  I wish the Padma drama would resolve itself quickly, but one thing at a time.

So it seems Emily is back on track and she knows she strayed just a bit (a lot!) from her goal – to destroy the Graysons.  What did you guys think?  Feeling like the Revenge mojo is back?

I’m back, bitches

Full recap in the next day or two!  Thanks for reading, you guys!

Loved this episode. Trask is SUPER DUPER CREEPY looking. Feels back on track, hoping good things are to come and no more 3 week breaks in between. I can’t believe I’m gonna say this, but I think I’m going to miss Faux Manda and her bad ass ways??? Also, I don’t want Ems with Jack, she’s too much for him. I’d rather see her and Aiden as some kind of Mr & Mrs Smith kick ass couple. I need something to happen with Ashley’s character. More back story, or tie in to Ems or something. Otherwise, kill her off. *Yawn* I’m bored with her. Oh, and take Padma and her fingerless family members along.

Meh. This show continues to give us more of the same… I’m growing impatient. I didn’t understand Ems boo-hooing over Amanda at all!! Bitch you tried to kill her ass in season 1! Unless she’s being symbolic, and if that’s the case, I say NO! I wanna see a good ol revenge ass kicking not symbolism.

I totally keep thinking of “Trask/radio. Trask/radio” from “Working Girl,” and I’m in my 20′s, so don’t feel badly. hehe I love me some evil, powerful women (hence my watching that about 100 times over the years for Sigourney Weaver and my love for Madeleine Stowe/Victoria). :-)

I’m loving the new “skip the goons and blackmail and handle shit myself” Victoria. I hope she drowns Trask, effectively creepy as he is, in the pool. I want to see that deliciously wicked smile on her face again that she beamed with when she capped over-confident Helen. Last summer, it was said that Conrad’s first wife and kids we’ve never seen will appear this season. I think one of the few ways for The Initiave to be fully redeemed/interesting is if, after all this time thinking we’ve strayed too far from the Emanda versus Victoria/Conrad rivalry that made season 1 gold, they do a 180 on us and we find out it’s been a familay affair all along – that Conrad’s ex-wife (please, please, please go with Laura Linney or Marcia Cross instead of another miscast like JJL) and kid(s) are higher-ups in The Initiative. I love Victoria with a gun, but I’d love her even more going all “Melrose Place”/”Dynasty” in a full on cat fight death match with Connie’s ex. hehe

Also, is it just me, or does Padma still seem evil? She’s too young to have been involved in the Flight 197 plot, but with all these techno skills on display in every episode, that finger and it’s print could easily belong to some random guy and hacked into the immigration database. I still keep expecting for her to be a part of The Initiative and for Marco to return and help out in some way (and, cold as this is, that they both die in the process, because they need to trim the excess characters so Vicky, Ems, Nolan, and Conrad can dominate screen time again).

Also, kudos to Jack for finally becoming interesting, and even Ashley had almost a full minute of appearing to have potential as a character. :-)

I prefer Padma to Marco personally.

I really had just learned to love Fauxmanda when they offed her. Dammit. Jack is out of his league. He is just going to blunder around and mess things up. Leave the revenging to the professionals Jacky!

Interested in the new brother character.

I would love to see Victoria and Conrad’s ex in a cat fight too. Victoria is so good when they let her evil it up.

I loved the quote at the beginning of the episode about the only real crime is letting them getting away with it. I am a revenge queen myself and I live that motto.
