   I wanted to like this show but it was lame. I completely agree that they rushed the tone of the episode; the blackout scenes which had so much promise were cut way too short. Even just setting up the militia, the new societies, etc. was too fast. Won’t be watching further. Sorry to be a debbie downer about it.

   @zerocool For the most part agree. I’m giving it one more episode, solely because I love the concept.

   Mostly I just got annoyed because the Sylvania Estates choice was most likely deadly. A.) There wasn’t enough food (at least that I saw) for that number of survivors. B.) I didn’t see any running water in the vicinity (nor did there seem to be even primitive attempts at an irrigation system). C.) Choosing homes of that size is insanely stupid. No way could you keep it warm enough in the winter to survive. D.) Why on earth would they spend the energy to make nice clothing? E.) You have no one keeping a look out for the militia? Nor did you choose an elevated area with a clearing around it so you COULD keep an eye out for intruders? F.) You have a horse, but you seem to have planted your crops in an arrangement that precludes the use of the horse for plowing?

   And no, I don’t nitpick…

   LOL, LBOH. I thought it was ridiculous that the street was dirt. It takes a lot longer than 15 years for asphalt to disintigrate like that.

   Yes, great concept, lousy delivery. I don’t think this one can be saved, mostly because none of these people can act. This show’s only hope is that it becomes so bad it’s laughable. Or there’s a mysterious “plague” and they end up needing to recast the entire show. They’d have to kill off the writers too… but look what happened to the Walking Dead when they canned their first season writers…

   So yeah… no hope for this one.

   I actually liked it. I found it entertaining, although I could do without the clearly earmarked redemption of a bad boy by a good girl, and “we’re family” staples of almost every American TV drama. I also would be OK with the younger brother dying. He is already annoying me. I agree that the clothing for various characters was inconsistant, but I do think that some people would have clothing that they would not have touched for years (including me, in various sizes) that you could pull from the closest and it would look new, so it was not enough to ruin it for me.

   Now looking back at this entry….Really I am pretty sure I liked it!

   Also, where did Katniss get that beautifully tailored leather outfit. It fits her perfectly!! Plus, they have to use DOS on their computers, but I didn’t hear the modem squeak sounds!!

   The iPod classic is still currently sold. So, it COULD be hers…but they got me with the rubik’s cube. I haven’t seen one of those since like 1991.

   I didn’t know someone would be recapping this show . I’m a JJ Abrams sucker so anything he touches I usually give a chance. This show HAD soooo much promise and well I have no idea where the vision went. Please kill off the brother and please for the love of Bob…let any writer who EVER wants to add ‘because we are family’ line keel over and die. Am I watching next week damn right, will I make through the entire season…dunno(but I watched ALL seasons of Heroes…yes ALL seasons).

   Well, they had me at Kripke and Abrams, so I’m willing to give this show the benefit of the doubt. However, I was underwhelmed. I’m not going to nitpick details like clothing, because, whatever, but I do agree with LBOH about their choice of living quarters. Did they just hunker down where they lived before the lights went out? That wouldn’t make sense if Ben was trying to hide. So they actually chose this little enclave. Is the Militia supposed to protect them? I’ll give it a few episodes, but I totally expected a Kripke/Abrams series to grab me right from the beginning, just like Supernatural and Alias/Lost did. Of course, both Alias and Lost petered out by the ends of their runs. I’m still firmly on board the Supernatural train, though

    This is alot like the hunger games. It was to fast I completely agree with you.
