Superboy to fight Superman in Smallville

Sounds like a case for Comic Book Guy:

Dean Cain, who portrayed the Man of Steel in ABC’s Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (with Teri Hatcher as Lois), will be a guest star on the CW’s Superboy series, Smallville.

Cain, whose time in tights ended ten years ago, will show up on the fourth episode of the seventh season, playing a villainous killer named Dr. Curtis Knox, a villainous killer.

This ex-Superman thing is becoming a habit on Smallville…The late Christopher Reeve showed up in the second and third seasons playing another doctor, Virgil Swan.

And remember: the character of Supergirl will be flying into Smallville as well next season. That could mean a booking for Helen Slater, who played her in the movies.

The new season launches September 27th.
