Sons of Anarchy: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Bodily Fluids!

Romeo and Luis tell Clay that since Jax was able to get of the RICO sting, they know he’s going to back out of the guns and drug running.  They suggest that Clay makes his move to become president of SAMCRO again because they’re going to take out Jax.  Romeo and Luis can’t lose their careers over this investigation because Jax doesn’t want to help them get the bigger fish to fry.  Clay asks them to back off and give him some time to convince Jax to stay in the game.  Romeo tells him he has two hours.

On a deserted access road off the highway outside of Charming, Jax, Tig, Happy and Chibs are waiting for Nero’s old crew to show up so they can sell them the guns.  Quickly, they realize that they’ve been set up when three different cars, all full of Hispanics with their own guns, pull up to the clearing.

Is there no honor among outlaws?  Can’t we all just get along?

Weirdly enough, it’s Tig who’s the first to suggest that they hop in their woody wagon and beat feet.  Bring on my favorite part of every Season Five episode:  The Chase Scene!  Jax hops behind the wheel, while Happy jumps in back and hands out guns to everyone else.  Jax drives in circles as they shoot at random gangbangers and look for an escape route.  Jax sees a chained livestock gate and guns it.  Unfortunately, there’s a hill on the other side of the gate.  The woody wagon rolls over a few times

The woody wagon does all of its own stunts.

but miraculously, lands on its wheels.  Even more miraculously, Happy is the only one hurt because he got nicked in the head by a bullet.  No one else is injured, even though none of them wore their seat belts.  Thank goodness for the “Oh shit!” handles.  The guys, pumped up and hooting and hollering, drive off in their amazing stunt car.  I guess they don’t make Brady Bunch cars the way they used to … can you imagine taking a Prius off that hillside?

At the clubhouse, Dr. Chibs is sewing up Happy’s scalp while Nurse Gemma feeds him a cocktail of shots of tequila and some antibiotics.

You wanna be/where you can see/your troubles are all the same/you wanna go/where everyone knows  your name (and your felony convictions).

Tig and Clay are sitting at the bar, and Jax is behind the bar, talking to Nero, who looks a little upset.  Jax is filling Nero in about his homies and their ambush.  Nero is mad — like, crazy mad — and threatens to take the battle to them but Jax says he wants the war to stay out of Charming.  Nero agrees.  Bobby comes up to Jax and whispers that he just talked to Lin on the phone, and he wants to meet at The Dynasty right away.  Jax tells Nero he has to go, but he’ll meet Nero later at Diosa to dicuss their options regarding Nero’s old crew.  As Jax tries to walk out with Bobby, Clay stops him and asks him (forcefully) for a minute of his time.

I think the actress who played the nurse is Donal Logue’s real life sister. So I guess, he is also portraying her brother here. And I’m a little confused about the whole documents situation. If these documents could prove, that Clay is Jax’s Dad – why would Gemma help Jax to find those documents? That wouldn’t help her building a better relationship with her son again.
To the Bobby-Clay situation: a lot of people are speculating that JT isn’t dead. Maybe the whole death situation was a setup to let JT walk away from the club without any harm and Bobby is one of the very few who know about this. Maybe he wants to protect Jax to kill Clay over something that never happend. Clay has done all kinds of wrong, but killing JT might not be one of those things.

I think Donal Logue’s character is related to the nurse that Otto killed..they both were listed with the same last name in the credits. Thanks for the recap..the show is so violent but your recaps make me laugh!
I wonder if Jax is going to try and save Tig from Pope ..can’t wait for this Tuesday!

I don’t think JT is alive, because I think Maureen over in Ireland would be aware of that. I can’t belive that if Clay was Jax’s father that they would have put it on the birth certificate so not sure what else that paperwork will prove. (beside the tie to the Nomads)

I agree with you, Violet, they wouldn’t be so stupid to put Clays name on those birth certificates if he was Jax’ real father.
I also think, the father-son storyline is a distraction from something else. There are hints since Season One, that Clay MIGHT be Jax’ biological father. But this season is really rubbing it in. So I think, it would to obvious to take that road. It is getting tiresome just like the whole paperwark storyline in general. Really? There is no other way to prove (or at least convince everyone) that Clay was behind the home invasions? Okay, it took a complete stranger to point it out to Jax that he should be looking inside the club. Is it just me or would an earlier seasons-Jax have been smarter and figured it out by himself?

But I’m not so sure about JT. If he isn’t dead and he was able to walk away from the club, maybe he wanted to cut off all the ties to it – even Maureen. Maybe that was even a requirement. I’m just grasping at straws here. This season is so confusing and I’m trying to put some sense into it – for my own inner peace.
If Jax is smart he will convince Clay to kill Pope (promising to step down as president or whatever …). This way he will have his revenge for Opie and, because of Pope’s own kind of life insurance, he would also get rid of Clay. And if he kills Clay in the aftermath of Popes death, Jax would also be rich…

There is a spoiler on the EW recap that says who Donal Logue’s character is in case you can’t wait.
I wonder what Jax is going to do about Tig, their exchange this week made my stomach turn… “Still love me Tiggy?” ACK! Can’t wait for next week.

I really hope that Clay isn’t Jax’s bio father, but there are too many context clues to ignore!

Can’t believe Gemma told Nero she lived him. I live their storyline and I hope K. Sutter keeps it going into next season.

Greenmonster – I agree with you. If John is still alive, he would probably have to cut ties with everyone, including Maureen. Maybe if she knew he was alive, it would put her in danger.
