Though Candice Woodcock was a mutineer and spent four days and five nights on Exile Island, the latest Survivor castoff will be remembered in the short term at least for her sloppy tongue action with goofy tribemate Adam Gentry– overt canoodling that was only complicated and kinkified when lady boxer Parvati Shallow made it a three-way smoochfest.

You can take those three names and make your own jokes. As for Candice, after a final, audio-enhanced spit-swap with Adam at Tribal Council, she’s showing what a player she was by setting the record straight on her showy showmance (which was distracting enough to make us forget she was the love object of that heavy metal wackola Billy early on).Candice spoke to The Slug about the Survivor season spice that wasn’t seen since the furtive glances between Brad and JP.

candice-survivormakeout.jpgAdam, she reveals, “was not the love of my Cook Islands life. It was … I don’t know.

“I guess I’ll start with where we started. We got stuck in the canoe, which you saw in the recap episode, and that was on day three or something like that. We were out there for hours in the freezing cold. We kind of went through a tough experience, which gave us a bit of a bond. I wasn’t trying to get into any romance out there at all. That was the last thing I wanted to do. But for some reason, Adam decided he liked me and he trusted me. I wasn’t going to shut that down as an option.”

Then there’s the issue of Adam’s cuddle sessions with Parvati while Candice was off at Exile Island. Candice says it was her idea: “To begin with, I was worried of looking like I was too close with Adam. So I told him from the beginning, ‘You should probably work on flirting with Parvati a little bit. And make sure she trusts you and likes you and all that stuff.’ I kind of suggested he do that.

“It was gross to see him snuggling with her. Because at that point, he didn’t need to prove anything to her. They had already been on the island for long enough together that she had a good sense of who he was. She was a good friend to say, ‘What about Candice, you dirty bird?’ So I thought that was gross.”

And, while Brad hints he and JP may have a surprise at the finale, Candice says she and Adam are history. “It worked on the island. We both needed someone we could trust. It was nice to have someone who always had your back. But beyond that, we’re just very different people.”

So what about that Tribal Council display?

“You know, it made for good TV. I am a huge fan of Survivor. If it made the show more interesting, you know, great. But other that that? Ehhh.”

Ehhh. For more insights on Candice’s surviving competitors–and the secrets of Exile Island– check out her interview with The Slug.

(Fun facts: “Parvati” is the Hindu love goddess who symbolizes the virtues of fertility, marital felicity, devotion to the spouse, asceticism and power. “Mr. Woodcock” is the name of the new Billy Bob Thornton movie.)
