Wow. Her brother is kind of a dick. He can’t even say he’d be happy for Des if this works out. Then he asks if he can “holler at” Sean for a few minutes. Nate flat out says that he doesn’t think Sean has feelings for Des and that he’s just a playboy. I love it when Sean says that he’s crazy about Des and Nate just says, “Yeah, well you’re crazy about a lot of girls.” As much as Nate is saying what everyone is thinking, I don’t think it was his place to interfere like this. Yes, I think the whole concept of this show is stupid. Yes, I think that Sean is leading a lot of these girls on. In any other situation, a guy seriously dating four girls at once would be considered an ass hole. Nate is right about all of that. However, Des is an adult. As much as she may respect the opinions of her family, she is the only one who gets a say in her life. She does not need her brother to step in and confront Sean in this situation. Years ago, my sister dated a guy that our entire family HATED! Hell, we still joke about how stupid he is (the man asked if the sun always sets in the west). As much as we all wanted her to break up with him, none of us interfered. He wasn’t really abusive – we would have intervened if that was the case. He was just kind of a jerk and really stupid. Basically, as much as Nate was telling the truth and saying what most of us have been all season, it really was none of his business.
I will give Sean credit for admitting that he does, in fact, have feelings for all four of the women at this point. It is kind of weird that Nate would question the fact that Des and Sean haven’t been super affectionate all night. Sean is meeting Des’ family. I don’t think he’s going to be sitting there with his tongue down her throat all night. Honestly, I think Sean handles himself really well. He doesn’t blow up at Nate, he doesn’t get defensive. He just explains himself and just does what he can. When Nate and Sean go back into the house, Des knows that something bad happened. Her parents awkwardly try to talk about the weather. After a little while, Des and Sean say goodbye and Sean tells us that he’s having a hard time with the entire situation tonight. He can’t imagine himself in a family where one of the members basically hates him. After Sean leaves, Des confronts Nate. It makes me happy that her parents pretty much defend her. Yes, I think what Nate said was correct, but Des made the decision to go on “The Bachelor” and she knew what that meant. I think the stars of this show are ass holes for trying to find a woman this way, but that’s why I don’t audition for it. OK, my rant is really over.
It’s time for the elimination! Hooray! We get some shots of half-naked Sean with a voiceover telling us that he knows that he’s keeping AshLee and Lindsay, but isn’t sure about Sean and Des. Chris meets with Sean. We need to start the “clarity” drinking game. Make sure you have at least eight shots lined up to do rapid fire. They rehash the whole situation with Nate. Then Chris asks Sean about why Catherine could go home. Sean says that he’s not sure their lives would align because Catherine is independent and has career goals. Fuck you, Sean. I hope he sends Catherine home so she can do better and find a guy who doesn’t want a marriage from the 1950s.
It’s time to give out the roses. Before that happens, Des requests a moment to talk with Sean. She just wants to apologize for her brother. Des “cries” like Tierra – not a single tear falls. When they get back, Catherine is freaking out and thinking that she should have talked to Sean too because this may be a game changer. I don’t think she has to worry. Her rack looks incredible tonight. I’m a straight woman, but I am not ashamed to admit that Catherine’s boobs are mesmerizing in that dress! OK, it’s time for the roses for real. The first one goes to AshLee. After that, Lindsay gets her rose. There really is no suspense because Sean just told Chris (and all of us) who the bottom two will be. And the last rose goes to…oh no! Sean leaves the room because the decision is just too hard.
Sean tries to think about who he would miss the most if he let them go tonight. And that woman is…Catherine! Sean gives her the rose and then walks Des out to the limo. They sit there for a while and Des does another Tierra cry and tells Sean that she’s made a huge mistake. This goes on for a while before Des finally drives away. I kind of feel bad for Des. She actually says, “I don’t know what I’m going to do about my life.” I feel bad for her because I think she honestly believes that her life is over because some reality star didn’t pick her.
