We’re almost there, Gasmii! We’re in the home stretch!
Previously: Dustin and Trishelle lost, San Diego won, and Marie and Robb did not take their ARENA selection well. Turns out they were right to be worried, since the remainder of Team Vegas sent them packing.
Now: The house is ominously empty. Seriously, it’s filmed/edited like some kind of tragedy has hit these entitled brats living in a fancy mansion. Everyone has finished packing and is nervous/excited to head to Namibia (Africa, as they have
finally been toldeventually figured out), and- this may come as a shock- no one wants to be sent home during this last challenge before the final. Speaking of the final, it’s coming up a mere 30 hours after they fly to Namibia (which is just northwest of South Africa- yes, I had to look that up), and it will be like this:
… Yup. Seems about right. Just find the diamond in the rough, and the Cave of Wonders will appear!
Gah! Why must they show closeups of snakes?! Especially biting ones!
They settle in to their new digs just in time for Sarah to get their final clue. The keyword is “shot,” but these rookies still don’t seem to know they’re supposed to make stupid, pointless guesses about what that might mean. Sarah reminds us that everyone thinks Vegas will lose, San Diego will win, and Cancun will be saved by Jonna’s boning of Zach. In other words, she fully expects to be ARENA-bound.
Challenge time! Sling Shot. Basically, teammates will work in pairs. One will be a Driver, and the other a Jumper. The Driver will drive an ATV as fast as possible to pull the Jumper along a ramp and launch him or her as high/far as possible into the water. The Jumper will then swim out to a dock, climb up, ring a bell, swim back to shore, and cross the finish line. Teams of four will have their two times averaged together to determine their time. Fastest = Power Team & Final, Slowest = ARENA.
Wow, for once a Challenge that is simple and straightforward to explain! San Diego won the last one, so they get to decide the order. Awww, remember at the beginning when everyone makes such a huge deal about order? It doesn’t seem so crucial here, since this one probably doesn’t involve a whole lot of strategy. Anyway, it will be Vegas, Brooklyn, Cancun, San Diego. Frank’s worried that Brooklyn’s swimming skills might help them pull this one off, and Sarah seems pretty confident as she assigns JD and herself to swim, and Chet and Devyn to drive. Derek says he feels the pressure since they’re no longer a strong four-person team- then quickly catches himself and says now they’re only “a strong two-person team,” and Jonna would prefer not to see an ARENA this close to the final.
Well, Jonna, you can only bone your way so far.
