The Taste

Hola Gasmii!  And welcome to Episode 3 of the Taste.  Finally, we are getting to the real competition where the concept of this cooking competition finally kicks in.

I think someone said this thing is about the taste, but I’m not sure yet what the concept is . . . Perhaps they could be clearer.

Here’s how it works:

Four teams with four contestants are given ingredients with which to compose a dish and the team leader guides the contestants as they compose their dishes.  The team leader then chooses which contestant’s dish to send to the guest judge.  The dishthat the judge likes best wins immunity for the next round, and the winning team gets the guidance of that guest judge during the next round.

The elimination round is an individual competition, and everyone is given a theme to follow for their dish.  This time, the judges (or team leaders) are not participating with their team and the blind taste test comes into play again.  Spoon by spoon they each choose their favorite and least favorite tastes, and some are even eliminating their own contestant.

It’s really great to see how this plays out, but also disappointing how certain players choose to conduct themselves. You know that old adage about being nice to everyone on the way up, because you’ll have no friends on your way back down?  Words to live by, Diane.  Words to live by.

We saw two chefs go home last night, and one almost didn’t make it through if not for that immunity win.   I really enjoyed it, but it seemed to me to kind of be a backwards Top Chef (the quickfire,  immunity and final challenge concepts), but all in all it made for good television and made me really hungry!

What did you all think?  You ready to come back for another taste?

Someone should tell Gregg that THIS is a spoonful of sexy. More like a ladle, amirite ladies?

The full recap will be up soon, in the meantime, read my recap of last week’s episode here!

I’m so glad that chef was saved by the immunity. One of my fav’s.

I still think they really messed up with the judging. If you are going to know who cooked your least favorites, and you are going to converse with them before making the final decision, than it isn’t all about the taste. They had me up till then, but that irked. I mean, you (the show) can’t brag about how your show is SO different then do the same thing. Grrrrrrr!

I’ll still be watching it though. ;)

I wouldn’t mind Ludo yelling at me like he was at the end of the immunity challenge. When he goes full-on French perfectionist asshole, it’s pretty hot.

    Captcha code? Labour of love.

Yasss, Ludo’s screaming was so hot.
If I had been in that kitchen, I would have put my underwear in the spoon and that would be that.

No food would be made and not a single solitary fuck would be given that day.
