ABC goes Trumpster Diving

Trumpster.gif After AMERICAN IDOL was an established hit and ratings grabber, ABC jumped on the bandwagon by doing a Primetime Live expose on Paula Abdul’s alleged sexual rumpus with a former contestant on the show. In its never-ending quest to be a reactive network rather than proactive network, the alphabet will now be tackling NBC’s television tuner THE APPRENTICE, by doing an unauthorized biopic on The Donald. The movie, expected to demonize Saint Trump, has caused the comb-over king to preemptively threaten a slander suit against ABC if, upon viewing, Mr. Trump finds himself with his panties a twist. Money, sex, scandal and really bad wigs. This movie is going to have it all, AND it just so happens to be airing opposite the Rob and Amber Wedding, which is reason enough to tune in.

Trump Unauthorized will be liveblogged when it airs Tuesday 8/9C on the ABC network.

    It is odd that a network that has experienced such a huge (or “yooge” if you speak Trump) renewal in its programming this season (Desperate Housewives, Lost, and Grey’s Anatomy being its chief examples of newfound success) would still need to rely on cheap “investigative” journalism and cheesy tv movies about shows and people from other networks to get ratings outside of Sundays from 9-11 and Wednesdays from 8-9.

    seriously, could they have picked someone who looked less like Trump? Did they just pick this guy out of a studio-tour line? “Well, he’s male, and Trump is male, so he’ll be perfect for the part!”

    (Now, the guy who played Robin Williams in that NBC movie looked just him.)

    I’ve seen the actor who plays Trump before. He’s a bit mousy, and 100% unfitting to play Trump. They need someone huskier.

    I actually found it to be entertaining, at least the few minutes that I saw when I clicked between it and Chaotic (puke) and Rambuh’s wedding (blasphemy!).

    It was typical MFTVM fare. “Time compression”, whirlwind headlines, lots of one-liners, the protagonist forever making a speech …

    Also, were we led to believe that Ivana bankrupted Donald? He’s never had any money.

    PS: Not enough time compression to factor in the third wife.
