NBC’s website for The Apprentice 6 shows Donald Trump sharing the spotlight with his daughter Ivanka as the show leaves Manhattan for the first time and lands in Southern California with a few twists–including the promise that each week, the winning team will live in a mansion while the losers sleep in tents and use portable toilets in the back yard. (Check out the backyard here. No peeing in the pool, losers!).
NBC is hoping the combination of a young blonde, sunshine, a pool and portable toilets will make viewers miss Donald’s fired assistant Carolyn a little less, and nudge the one-time hit at least back into the Top 50 when it moves to Sundays, starting with a 90-minute premiere on January 7th.
After NBC announced the eighteen contestants, local newspapers around the country began spotlighting their new favorite sons and daughters and potential statewide embarrassments.
The group is pretty typical, white, black, Asian, heavily NY- and LA-based, most in their mid-20s– with a few in their late 30s (who may have more kowtowing experience), five attorneys, a couple of real estate types, the best female hockey player in America (huh?), a couple of hotties and some youthful entrepreneurs.
But one young player stands out as an early favorite:
Meet Surya from Cincinnati.
Surya Yalamanchili of Cincinnati, Ohio is 24 years old, a brand manager and media strategist for Procter & Gamble. Surya was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania and was class president and commencement speaker at Rutgers University. NBC says Surya started a successful e-commerce strategy company at age 15 and worked full-time at a web company while in college.
We say Surya stands out, and would make a perfect husband for beautiful Ivanka!
