Banana splat
Hope everyone had a great week! Was this show and CT and Diem’s agonizing Dome choice top-of-mind the whole time? Don’t answer that. So, dun dun dun! They make a decision that even TJ thinks is stupid by throwing in Paula and Dunbar. CT’s reason? He can’t trust them. Diem’s reason? She wants to get to the end. Eh. I’ve got to agree with TJ. Paula and Dunbar are likely to lose, and the three strongest teams will remain in the game. They could have thrown Johnny and Camila in and been guaranteed to have one of the strongest teams go home.
At least there’s a new Dome challenge. The couples – first guys, then ladies – have to run back and forth along a narrow hay-bale hallway to put a series of balls in their goals. They have the option of body-checking one another in the hallway on the way there. In the first round, Ty wins by speed, and by body-checking Dunbar before placing his last ball. Then Emily wins by super-speed. Then Paula cries. Aww. I’ll miss seeing them get eliminated later this ep.
The main challenge is both awesome and horrible. The couples have to run back and forth while some airplane jets blow right at them, carrying an assortment of lightweight and blowable lawn furniture and picnic toys.
The lightweight and blowable cast members fly through the air along with them.
When they get the lawn furniture, picnic toys, and two mannequin “guests” from one side to the other, they have to grab a parachute and run straight at the jets. Johnny and Camila are chosen to go first, and they finally get to experience the shame all the previously eliminated couples felt when they totally bit it on a physical challenge. Camila has a lot of items fly away and does a lot of windmill-like running after them. Also, everyone falls a lot, which always makes me happy. The performance quality increases with each couple who goes, as they learn lots of good workarounds, like crawling and sliding the lawn chairs along the ground. This gives CT and Diem another Power Couple win. I’m beginning to think they win the whole thing. That’s the only reason the show would try to give them a story arc. Well, the only good reason.
Even the statues are stunned at Team Bananas’ lousy showing.
The beg-a-thon is full of verbal scraping and servitude, though some actual butlering would have been nice. CT and Diem again use some upside-down logic and throw in Mark and Robin, so they can earn their spot in the final. I’m not going to get my wish to see a dome with Johnny and Camila vs Emily and Ty. I guess the game looks different when you’re in it – and when your vantage point is with your head up your ass. So no, CT and Diem, you can’t do anything right. Your strategy is apparently motivated by your idea of who deserves the win? And apparently you are not that couple? Or maybe you are. This show is kinda making me doubt my sanity. I didn’t see that coming.
See you next week for the final Dome and the Final-final!
If you like it, spread it!:

I know that Emily and Ty seemed the obvious choice, but I am SO glad that they chose Mark and Robin. I know… politics… strong teams… blah, blah, blah, but my girl Emily (and Ty, too) has been in a gazillion times and for Robin (and Mark) to walk right into the final would have had me pissed. So I respect their decision, and even more so for them going against the grain. I can’t wait to see the dome next episode!!!
CT was looking good this episode. The next challenge should be the teams have to face CT in every challenge/dome. If CT wins, he gets money and the loser goes home. If CT doesn’t win, he has to take off a piece of clothes and the winner stays.
It seems like these past few episodes are very drama free and when they try and show drama, it is heavily edited to make fake drama. Yes, last week with Emily and Ty was a little drama, but I am guessing that was heavily edited as well. I guess this is the added benefit of Wes going home so early.
Diem and CT are sooooo dumb. They clearly should have thrown in Johnny and Camilla against Emily and Ty. And they had the opportunity to do it a second time and STILL messed it up. I know it wasn’t fair to let Mark and Robin make it to the final without going in, but I’d much rather go against them in a final than Johnny/Camilla/Emily/Ty.
I think Diem was running those decisions. Especially since she said she’d rather go into a dome against Camila or Robin over Paula or Emily, and then they put Paula/Dunbar in the dome. I LOVED that TJ called them out for how bad their decision was
Oh and I wanted to tell Johnny and Camilla to shut up and stop whining about having to go first in the challenge. You did it to someone almost every week (when you were power couple) so shut up and take it like a man/woman. At least Ct/Diem made 1 right choice in this episode.
My only reasoning for CT and Diem not throwing Johnny and Camilla into the Dome was that they know Johnny will be a force on future challenges and it’s well documented that he carries a grudge.
I agree and clearly Ct and Johnny Backpack were working together this time around so he didn’t want to screw him over sooo overtly. Though I do believe he should have thrown in Mark and Robin last week and this week would have been great to see Paul/Dunbar and Johnny/Camilla. Oh wells. I don’t think this decision was stupid to throw in Mark and Robin. I don’t believe Emily/Ty have seen a final so I would think they’d be overwhelmed as a first time team. Plus Mark never ever going in an elimination round ever. Yeah I might have had to send him in out of curiosity.
