So what’s the story with the Lauren Conrad sex tape? First there was word that MTV’s The Hills stars Lauren and Jason Wahler appeared in a steamy sex video (they’re all steamy, no?) that Wahler was trying to sell before he heads off to jail. Then Lauren denied that a tape exists, and blamed her other costars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (left) for spreading the rumour that a sex tape exists.

And now, amid word that a tape does exist– but that it’s too “vanilla” to be put on the market– Heidi’s got the claws out for her former friend, claiming it’s impossible that she could have leaked the news–and for good reason. “It’s astonishing that she would say that. I guess she forgot that I was in the hospital that week. Maybe that would explain why she didn’t call to see how I was doing.”

Heidi was in the hospital for a breast job and rhinoplasty.

But does a sex video exist? “No comment,” she says.But while Heidi won’t come clean to Us Weekly, a celebrity gossip and porn-promoting website, quoting a “source” saying the sex video does exist but that it contains “no hard core sex,” only “messing around.”

And okay, we saved the best for last: Just how is that relationship between Heidi and Spence?

“Perfect,” Heidi tells Us. “We have so much fun. I never knew I could love someone like this.”

“I have never been so madly in love as I am with Heidi,” adds Spencer. “She has the world’s greatest boyfriend!”

    Heidi’s nose job isn’t going to do her any good if she insists on posing so the camera can see up her nostrils.

    Spencer or what I call him “Greasy Bear” is soooooo lame. Why is Heidi even with him anyway??? It’s not like he’s good looking or anything. But the weird thing is that every guy that I have talked to about Spencer totally worships him. He’s tacky and I even read somewhere that he wants to make a sex tape with Heidi to make some make some money. What a douche bag.

    Damn. Bummer about the milquetoast sex video. I was hoping to get a peek at those “overly large girly bits” that LC’s supposed to have. They’ve been talking it up as if she doesn’t just have a full set of beef curtains, but a complete window treatment. Shame to miss it.
