Did you wake up this morning and feel that something was, I dunno, different? Notice a spring in your step you haven’t had all Summer? Sticking to a diet you never planned on starting? Talking in text code like the homies on the MTV ads?

Well, tonight marks the beginning of a beautiful ending to the Summer and a sweet, like, bridge to the Fall. That’s right, gasmii! THE HILLS IS BACK!! Don’t forget to set your Tivo’s Season Pass!

    OMG! I’m stoked! I just hope Ting Lee does the recap justice. I haven’t been on TVgasm since last season of The Hills. So much drama in just one epi. The season teaser looks like there’s more to come. I dunno, though. I think Lauren was made out to look judgmental in this first epi. I hope it was just my overly-active imagination.     I can honestly say that in all my thirty-odd years, I have never felt the urge to throw something at my TV.

    Until last night.

    I’ll condense my comments and feelings to one statement: I am completely, totally, 100% Team Lauren.

    I watched the first two episodes on MTV…LOVED them!

    I love Lauren, but she does seem a little clingy about her friends. She wasn’t too pleased with Audrina’s Justin/Bobby (maybe because he looked like a homeless douche) but still.

    Also, this question is posed to anyone who lives in LA:
    What is that store where Spencer bought Heidi’s ring? ICE or something? From the dialouge, I couldn’t tell if it was costume jewelry or real. The store definitely wasn’t a jewelry store so it seems a little suspect.

    Joe Blow, I wondered the same thing! It seemed odd to me that he bought an engagement ring in a store that also sold pocketbooks and chairs. I’m no diamond expert but it definitely seemed like the kind of fake bling you buy at any random accessory/shoe store.

    Also, did you notice the saleswoman’s reaction when he said something about proposing or marriage or engagement? It was like “ohhh……….that’s nice….” (or something to that effect, I will have to re-watch for the actual phrase) but it was basically like saying WTF are you doing buy this here???

    Ha.

    Lauren better keep the Heidi drama around for as long as she can, because Audrina and Whitney, combined, have the personality of a paperclip.

    Seriously, Audrina has the worst case of dead-eyes I’ve ever seen in my life. Is there anything going on in the head, because the face is blank.

    McCreamy, you are so right. But Heidi can’t act so that’s why it’s coming off as so idiotic. (I hope she at least sings better.) I get the feeling that Spencer thinks they’re fooling everyone with their act. But I think it’s just as fake as the ring and the whole “proposal” on the beach.

    Heidi looked super-cracky… How awful yet appropriate that JBJ was her only “friend” to show up at the partay?

    I thought Whitney would get to move out of the closet after she became a full fledged employee, but I guess that doesn’t make for good tv…

    Also, Brody has just enough neurons firing to know that Spencer is stupid. I hope we get to see Brody and Spencer’s “breakup”!!!

    The impending Justin-Bobby disaster should be great fun to watch. Props to Audrina who can’t be bothered with advice, warning signs, or red flags… she just has to crash the plane into the mountain herself.

    Is Whitney anything more than an airheaded parrot? I swear, every conversation with her sounds like the following:

    Whitney: Wow. It’s raining outside.

    Anyone Else: No, Whitney. It’s 95 degrees and we’re in the middle of a 2 month drought.

    Whitney: Yeah. That’s what I was saying…

    As for the Kunt from Crusted Butt, it was nice to see that shooting started before the skin on her nose had a chance to heal. The fun bags may be a nice change, and I’m sure her new blower is within structural tolerances, but the damn thing just doesn’t fit her face. She was prettier before it, and now she just looks like a future divorced trophy wife with a nose job.

    Finally a big shout out to Spencer for getting in touch with his inner Queer Eye. His beautiful “Hollywood $$$” mural looks like he invited Trading Spaces over to shoot their “Tagger” episode.

    How sad is it that the best thing anyone can hope for from Season 3 is hoping the so-called LC Sex Tape happens to surface?

    @ cath619: I was sitting there thinking the same thing when I saw JBJ at the house-warming party. I love that they are still friends after Heidi totally tried to sell her out to Lauren last season — methinks they deserve each other. Although that means we may have to put up with more of Jenn Jenner’s annoying sickly-sweet voice and the constant hair flipping this season. Ugh.

    Why did Ting Lee not question who this “Frankie” person is? I feel that he is most likely a crew member of the show; who else would Speidi, Lauren, and Audrina all have an equal relationship with? Even Elodie and Whit seem to know who he is. Kinda weird. TL, let’s address these things in the re-cap; you know we all noticed it. But why am I posting here instead of after TL’s recap? Because I have a revelation regarding the pre and post premier events (aka “Dear the Hills’ and “This season on the Hills”). Ok, “Dear The Hills” aired someone asking Whitney if he “should go abroad for the summer or stay home with his girlfriend.” Whit replied that he SHOULD GO ABROAD BECAUSE SHE NEVER DID AND ALWAYS WISHED SHE HAD! Did the trip to Paris last year actually take place, or were we duped??????????? She may have revealed key proof that there is even more staginess going on than previously thought….

    Frankie is not a crew member, his name is Frankie Delgado. He was on the short-lived MTV series TwentyFourSeven. I think he’s a club promoter or something, or just one of those Hollywood non-celebs that pal around with people like Brody Jenner, thus the connection to Spencer as well as LC, etc…
