The Kite Runner
, the book that everyone’s been talking about, is coming to the big screen November 2nd and here’s your chance to host your own advanced screening or even win a dinner with the author, Khaled Hosseini!

The Kite Runner, directed by Marc Forster, is an amazing story about fathers and sons, friendship, betrayal and the journey that goes from Afghanistan’s monarchy to the present day.

The Kite Runner official website is now up and running, but it’s not your typical website. They’re using tactics of blogging, creating groups and online marketing to get the word out. The best part about it is that you get a chance to win a dinner with the author, or have an advanced screening in your hometown. If you create a Kite Runner group, you become the captain of your group; the more people you have, you up your chances of winning prizes! Other prizes include: a trip to Los Angeles to attend the premier, autographed books, leather bookmarks, pins, etc…

For those of you who have not read this book yet, I highly recommend it. It’s one of the best stories I’ve ever read, and it’s a very true account of Afghanistan history of past and present day. Although I have not seen the movie yet, I am sure it will be a powerful one and something that will help us relate to the circumstances of Afghanistan and their current situation.

You can view the trailer on their official website (click on the title) The Kite Runner. Or for those of you who want to see the HD trailer you can view it on the Apple site (or click here): HD Apple Kite Runner

Go on fans, join a group on the website or create your own! For those of you who live in Los Angeles, I’ve started the TVgasm – Santa Monica group. Join in and let’s win ourselves a screening!

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Thanks for the heads up Nads! This book was awesome… I’m glad it’ll get even more attention when it becomes a movie.

Also, I just wanted to say thanks for bringing me back to the Newsgasm side of the page… I really like the stuff you’ve been putting up here.
