In case you missed it, here’s Michael Richards’ apology on The Late Show with David Letterman. Whew! What a nut! And what a night…
What was funnier? All those commercials on NBC for the new Seinfeld DVD collection, the laughter from the Letterman studio audience who thought the “Kramer” appearance was a gag, or Richards referring to the people he insulted as “Afro Americans”…?

They were laughing because there was an akward silence and the whole thing made them uncomfortable.

definitely awkward laughter… the whole thing seems sad. his apology seemed sincere, but what can he say? it’s not like you can take back that stuff once it’s been said.

I can’t stand hecklers. Or bad comedians. But hecklers win the “Who sucks more?” contest.

I thought he was an actor, not a stand up comedian. As far as the apology goes, one thing you can say is that he didn’t blame it on alcohol and claim to go into rehab.
