A Blast From the Past

The O.C.

I love The OC, but like many other fans, sometimes I go nuts when the writers leave what is potentially a great story line dangling in the wind. For example, at the end of the first season, Ryan went to live with Theresa, who was pregnant with what we thought was his child. Theresa told Ryan she had a miscarriage because she saw that he had only moved in with her for the baby and wasn’t ever going to love her like she wanted. That’s pretty much the last we heard of that until the middle of last year when Ryan saw Theresa when he was in Chino looking for Trey. This week, Ryan finds out that Theresa had her baby, and we get to find out if he is the father. At least that is what is promised. TVgasm thought we would share some non-exclusive photos of mom, dad, and the baby boy. I have to say, young Theryan (not his real name, unless Brangelina were his parents) bears a striking resemblance to his father, but can you really trust Theresa when she’s lied to Ryan before? Who do you think is the real father?

I have been hoping for this story to come back all season, I’ve been vocal about it to my friends and even in practically every comments I’ve left in your posts for The O.C. I am SO excited.

The boy has features like Ryan. Too bad ratty Eric Balfour doesn’t look anything like Ryan because then there would be some suspense. But this is a TV show, on FOX no less so it might end up being Eric’s kid.

Looks exactly like Ryan and nothing like Eric Balfour, although how are they going to work a son into Ryan’s storyline?? That’s not one the writers can ship off to Chicago or Oregon when they grow bored with it after a few episodes. Well, I guess they could, but I can’t imagine them making holier than thou Ryan into a long distance baby daddy.

It’s interesting how TV kids have a much higher probability of picking up recessive traits than dominant ones. This kid is more likely to look like her than him in real life.

I hope it’s not his kid, but I’m guessing that we won’t find out for a while still. I’m not a huge fan of that storyline.

Anna is comin back!!! i loved that character, just perfect for seth. i think the show jumped the shark when they wrote out anna’s and luke’s character out of the show. after the first season, the show hasnt been up to par. anyways, theresa character is cute and hope they develop a strong plotline with the baby.

well, not that there is any reason to think this (although has that ever stopped the o.c. writers before?), but how awesome would it be if this was trey’s kid?! it would be way too easy if it was ryan’s…..

They wrote out Luke’s character because I believe it was due to a problem with his contract. Probably something to do with money. I actually really liked his character once he broke up with Marissa. He was also hilarious in the Rooney episode. And he also had the best line in the whole entire series. Woot.

I’m excited for the continuation of the Theresa and the baby storyline. Should be tons of fun. And I’m also excited for Anna’s return. Yea!

It just seems too easy to bring it back now, there was do lead up to it or really any suspense. As much as I love The OC, I’ve come to expect this behavior from the writers (think of the ridiculousness of the college episode)

Where did they get those goddamn college sweatshirts mere days after they got in the schools?
