The Razzies® honor what Oscar® ignored

While the Film Independent Spirit Awards show took place on a beach far from Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre, the 27th Annual Golden Raspberry®–or Razzie®– Awards were handed out– well, we don’t think anyone actually showed up to receive them– within spitting distance of the Academy Awards® Show‘s Kodak Theatre.

If the Oscars® are elitist and the Spirit Awards are too hip for the room, the Razzies® carry a whiff of snobbery, shooting fish in a barrel, so to speak, and targeting some crowd pleasers that don’t aim any higher than giving a laugh, a fright, some blood & guts or some T&A or a combination of the four. In other words, we saw all of Little Man but are still working our way through Babel twenty minutes at a time. And, surprisingly Babel didn’t get a single award or nomination (and neither did Cloud 9! What gives?).

The Razzie® winners… and, after all, anyone who sells a script, gets a role onscreen, or manages to actually get a movie made, is a winner in Hollywood…after the jump…
