What are you lookin’ at you fuckin mook?

Well, according to Michael Starr at the NYPOST ONLINE (subscription required), you could be looking at the new season of THE SOPRANOS as soon as March 2006.

The ads started running this past weekend on HBO, but to my knowledge this is the first a date has been mentioned. As someone who never got into the series, I couldn’t care less. But as someone who fears the mob on account of a past-due debt, I thought I should mention something about a show which shows the stereotype of the mob and not the accurate depiction of decent human beings, who are caring, motivated, charming, well hung, organized and certainly willing to give me 2 more weeks.

HBO began running promos revealing the March ’06 premiere during last weekend’s airing of “Empire Falls.” An HBO spokeswoman confirmed the March premiere, but said no specific date has been decided upon.

The return of the show is good news for fans of “The Sopranos,” who’ve been without their favorite mob opera since the fifth season ended June 6, 2004. — Michael Starr

    They actually had the March 2006 date posted back when they aired the last season….so like over a year ago pretty much.

    I have been hearing “early spring 2006″ for a long time. I guess officially saying March is more specific, but from what I’ve heard, they’ve been saying that general timeframe all along.

    March seems like an odd timeframe. Why not in February during sweeps?

    Sweeps aren’t vital to cable shows like they are to network shows since there isn’t the whole issue of ad revenue to contend with.
