Damn! Missed this one, I was watching the Olympics. Cone boobs is back! Lord… what is wrong with people.

Casey reminds me of MacKenzie (of ni-ni infame) only cuter, nicer, and darker. Why on earth would her mother spray tan an already gorgeous dark complexion?

She was a little bouncy during beauty, but I forgot all about it when she did her Beyonce routine. You knew she loved every second of it! Cutie patootie Kelsey put the sleepies in her back pocket and did the durn thing on stage. Poor Mia’s unfortunate wardrobe debacle.
I thought Mia’s costume was inappropriate but was secretly impressed by how accurate it actually was to Madonna’s actual costume. Didn’t understand the judge’s critique either…it was a mini version of the costume, what other direction would it be going??
I missed this episode because I had to study for my Art History final. Another reason for me to hate Modern Art all the time spent analyzing it made me miss T&T.
I was mesmerized by that one mom’s mole.. couldn’t concentrate on anything else.
Did anyone else see the crypt keeper’s mom in the audience when the emcee was doing his audience roam? Yikes! That was scary.
@snowshoecat: Casey’s mom said Casey had eczema, and was told that spray tanning would even out the patches.
@snowshoecat – I thought I heard her mother say that Casey has eczema and that a spray tan helps her skin to look more even.
I know this show was about Mia, Casey, and Kelsey, but I spent the whole time spotting Bob (from the glitzmas episode), Laila (same episode), who has apparently traded in the cute rockette ooc for the sluttiest Madonna costume ever made, and her sister Greer (dear schpigler mom– a playboy bunny is NEVER age-appropriate at 3!!!). As for the 3 followed girls, Mia is a lot prettier now, like she’s grown into her face. Casey was too cute, and I really dug Kelsey’s hairspray routine.
I haven’t watched this episode yet, all I can recall about Mia’s first episode is how homely she was. Now I remember how she had snot constantly pouring out of her nose. (I do realize this is an awful statement to make about a child) I am glad to hear she ‘has grown into her face’, because it seems like the world of beauty pageants would have become nearly unbearable for her had she not. It seemed cruel at the time that her mother would force such a awkward looking girl into contests of beauty and poise.
At 2, Mia was an odd looking kid– the kind you can tell (I said this about out beloved gabby, too, ad it is totally true) will be a beautiful woman, but their face looks too old for their body, or something. At 4, Mia is a lot prettier.
Did it creep anyone else out the way the emcee kept singing the children’s names???

@snowshoe- I too thought Casey reminded me alot of McKenzie (good ole NiNi). She was way better and well behaved,
Some of the outfits made my jaw drop, good Lord, what are these parents thinking? Did anyone notice the girl at the very beginning with her back to the audience but her legs were spread REALLY wide- A pedophile’s dream come true. Thankfully facing the wrong way, but no less disturbing.

I also spotted past-fOllowee Paige (she did pippy long stocking in her episode) at least a few others. Yeah, the spraytan for Casey was explained as helping even her akin out because eczema makes it blotchy in places. We’ve seen a few biracial kids (Alexis and torrann come to mind) also get tanned because without it they’d be pale next to a lot of the spray-tanned girls. They didn’t mention tanning either Mia or Kelsey, and I’m not sure either was, but northern pageants are funny with those.
Why oh why, Mia’s mom, if you’re going to get your 4-year-old a flipper, did you not order it in time for her to practice with it, and when it fell out, why did you not grab granny’s fixodent and glue it to her teeth? Or decide to just scrap it for this pageant and try later?
Okay, so I’m not the only one who thinks Mia is NOT facially gifted, bless her heart. I thought I was just thinking cruel thoughts.
I adored Casey – so much fire in that girl! Of course, delusional Mom thinks this is her ticket to Hollywood. Now, if Dad was Will Smith, then yeah, she’d have that ticket. But as a result of this pageant? I doubt it. Still, if she sticks to pageants, she could do really well for herself.
Kelsey was pretty but seriously, have that kid checked for narcolepsy.
Am I the only one who thinks that Mia didn’t forget to remove her jacket, but rather decided not to do it?
I noticed that she kept putting her hands at the collar like she was going to rip it off, but then she didn’t. It was almost like she was embarrassed since she’s no longer two.

Also, I think that when the judge said he didn’t know where they were going with the costume and routine it was because she didn’t do too much. Every once in a while she would start to vogue, but then it would just peter-out.
Are we allowed to say “peter-out” on here?
I am told by people who have been followed that they keep the kids up really late with filming and interviews, and they have to be up quite early for h/m, so I can’t blame her for being sleepy.
at first i was excited that the episode’s pageant took place about 10 minutes from me, but then … it was pretty boring. not really any drama.
kelsey and casey are cute, but i’ve always thought mia is kind of ugly.
i can’t wait ’til next week … at least if t&t is disappointing again, there’s always honey boo boo!
Hello, Crabophiles and fellow Gasmii from a newbie!
I discovered Dear Crabby (and gang) last season when an IMDb poster linked to a hilarious recap of the 4th season finale. It took me until the mid-5th season hiatus to follow my breadcrumb trail back here. I really had to wade through some “Interwebs” dreck to find my way back to the Gold Standard of recaps.
Having read all of the so-far 5th season recaps and minicaps (AND every single comment), I feel like many of you are already old friends. It’s so nice to be here among fellow snarkers.
Poor Mia…we got a glimpse of her dad in this episode, and she definitely gets the looks from him. If she begins to grow mom’s mole, she’s really done for!
Also think that things have been tame on T&T or I’m use to it at at this point. Still loving DC recaps!!!
@PG – agree that Mia with time will be a beauty. Not classical but exotic & wonderful to behold. She has the body lines & features to be attractive.
Her mom is also pretty but I would have that mole removed. Alas I am vain & probably not political correct statement but o’well.

It’s O degrees where I live. Chipping the ice of the windscreens in the morning here.
Unfortunately, until pageant directors and judges start taking marks off for inappropriate costumes playboy bunnies etc will continue because of their shock value and the hope of being on a tv show.
Holy Crap Bluedog!! ZERO?!? eff that crap! Then agian, it is winter where you are right? I am to white for 96 degrees…I am good in the 70-80 range, any thing above 80 starts to get to me. I can burn within 10 minutes of being outside. I do wear sunscreen, but sometimes that doesn’t even work. I have a hard time finding any above spf 50. My cousin is getting married at the end of september, and I am in a short strapless dress, that is dark purple. Yeah I won’t look weird or anything!
Anyhow, does anyone know how long it takes for tlc to put the episodes on demand? I would really like to watch the epi so I know what everyone will be talking about when the recap is up!

@thisbuggs4u You might want to stay away from Alabama then. Everyday the temperature’s in the 90s, except for in the morning when it’s in the 80s.

Buggy @29, I’m with you on the heat thing. We Minneapolitans melt above 79, so if Bluedog would like to share and even things out, it would be just fine.
I’ve dedcided that, seeing the hovels so many of the T&T families call home, the heat must fry the parents’ brains. They certainly don’t have central air! That is the only explanation I can come up with for the crotch -grabbing, and the X-rated outfits that I would blush to wear on Halloween.
I might just step my foot in on this weather thing. When Bluedog says zero degrees it is in celcius, which is the equivalent of 32 degrees Fahrenheit. It definitely doesn’t get to zero degrees fahrenheit in Australia. In summer generally most Australian locations would top out at about 40 celsius/105 Fahrenheit (except in the rare event).
Back on the topic of T&T, what exactly does Shpigler mother get out of dressing her two little girls up as sluts? It has been proven by marketing experts that any publicity is not always good publicity as previously thought. Narcissistic, ignorant, wannabe troll who is becoming the (very,very) poor mans Mickie Wood.

I forget you are not metric there but Harriet Mr Bluedog is from Tasmania and he says it definately gets under O degrees celcius there. We live in inland Queensland and it reaches over 40 degrees here in summer. Gotta love Aussie weather. Freezing in winter, boiling in summer.
