Booty-smacking is EXACTLY the kind of relief we were looking for this week! Thank you!
Ahhh…last week was like an asthma attack and this week was the inhaler. Toddlers & Tiaras gives us some great TV for the International Fresh Faces: Fairy Pageant with our good friend Mr. Todd. Love the costume changes! We totally need to add him to our drinking gang of Tonya, Annette and Betty. And Lacey-Mae! Someone has to be the designated driver.
First us is our reason for living, the ultra-fawned over Traven, our sole male contestant in this pageant. He screams about being a grown up, the man of the house and how he wants to be up his competition. Then he says he needs to get the devil out of himself and proceeds to need an exorcist. Perhaps Alexesesese can loan him hers. His mother has trademark front gold teeth – is that from baby formula? Traven fires his barber and wants his grandmother to work in a strip club – and he knows the name of that strip club! Ah, T&T, thank you for quenching our crazy thirst.
Ava-Cate is an adorable little girl with a scream, little piggy and two names that one their own are fine but then get a little cray-cray in the double up. She hates practicing and likes to do a booty smack, which her mother fears she will do during the pageant. We can only hope. Despite having a coach that really needs to immerse herself not only in a ShamBrow™ but also some eyebrow bleach (although I’m guessing cuff and collar match, if you know what I mean, and you do…), she does a nice job during the pageant.
And finally is our egomaniac with manners Samantha who is Traven’s competition. I guess. She won ultimate grand supreme in her first pageant and has continued to kill at pageants, practices a lot, knows her stuff and has confidence – perhaps too much. Also, once they put that fall on her head, her forhead really went all Tyra on us, it was weird. However, her “Fairy” category outfit was awesome – I’d kill for gossamer wings like that, but again, hard to pull off after 40. Or 30. Or probably 20. And 10. Their only catastrophe? They brought the wrong length version of her song! Quelle horreur!
Again – still loving parents, still reasonably good kids, but more to work with this week…thank God.

My favorite part of the episode was the sign that Traven’s mother had: “Congrats Traven / Your 1.”
Was Samantha’s hair naturally that color? Her mom’s was exactly the same, but both heads screamed “bleach!” to me.
IFF Mo. still has the paperwork on their site. I’ve gotten to be quite skilled at deciphering pageant paperwork and I read that the music was supposed to be 1 minute for fairy wear. It appears that Samantha was expecting it to be the typical minute and a half and was trying to finish off a minute and a half routine. Why would the show lead us to believe the mom had the wrong music? Anyone want to take a stab at explaining the one to me?
I’m still curious as to what was counted for the “Ultimate Grand Supreme”. It was a door title so not everyone entered, but was it pulled before or after the “Grand Supremes”.
What made the bleach blond worse was the fact that she was browner than I am…it was rather distracting.
I haven’t seen this one yet, but how old is Traven? and WTF is up with the exorcist? Are we talking mentally damaged kid or what here?

The REALLY funny part is that IFF doesn’t have a boys division. He was allowed to enter the pageant strictly for purposes of the filming of the event. I’m good friends with another state director for IFF and boys are not on the PPW. In addition, there were no supreme titles for Denim wear or Fairy wear… which also cracks me up.
I thought Traven was SUCH a jerk. I was going to use a stronger word, but he’s so young. I really feel that he’s a future wife beater. The way he talked to his mother & grandmother was so disrespectful and and he seemed so angry. I thought he was going to hit his cousin when she said she wasn’t going to do the pageant. Something about him just gave me the creeps.
How funny that there was no boys division and no denim supreme. So they stuck him in and gave him a made up title.
I loved Samantha and I thought her fairy wear was gorg. She looked adorable during denim wear too. The little one was cute too. I was bummed that she didn’t smack her butt during beauty but what can you do?
Traven’s mom’s sign killed me too!!
And what was up with Traven’s mom saying that all the other boys dropped out when they heard Traven had entered??
Samantha’s ego was Alaska lite…I’m sure next season she will be ramped up and be full on annoying.
Did Traven have on girl jeans for denim wear? I will give his mom this, at least his name was not Travante or Travious. Or Spelled Tra’ven, Tray’veen, T ‘ ray’venh….the list can go on an on.
Speaking of Alaska, I thought I saw her during some of the quick shots of kids onstage. Or were my eyes deceiving me?
I am a wee bit skeptical. International? Does this mean kids from Mexico are involved? Canada? Ukraine? With some of these pageants I would be surprised to see a kid from another state, making lie of the name interstate.

I totally agree that Traven will be an abuser……no respect for women or authority. I feel sorry for the teachers at school that will have to deal with him. His only gift seemed to be speaking older than his age about things he does not need to know and dancing as if he were in a club. It is obvious that education is not stressed in that home.
And what was up with his mother’s weave? You could drive a truck through the part in her “hair”.

I don’t see Traven as a future abuser. I see him as a future teenage baby daddy to multiple girls.
@Moli, sorry to steal your idea… but how sad is it that so many of us thought the same thing about him? My guess is that he has a father (or “father figure”) in his life that’s teaching him all this.
Trevon the terror was a MESS. What disturbed the most was when he went on his rant, his mother stood there and laughed. Way to set an example for your son, I’m sure your daughter in law will thank you one day.
God, I feel sorry for Travon’s teacher. And any teacher who ends up with him between now and his 16th birthday, when he drops out or ends up in juvie. Untamed children are not cute! His mom should be forced to take parenting classes along with some remedial English. It just drives me mad when I see such rude, out of control brats being coddled by their parents.

Speaking of crazy spellings, when my SIL was in the hospital after having a baby, she asked the woman in the next bed what she had. The woman said that she had a boy and named him Jeremy. But, they wanted it to be different so they spelled it J E R O M E! Jer-o-me. That poor kid having to explain that his name is not Jerome!
I thought it was cute when he said… I LIED… I lied to all of you…. I don’t have 1000 girlfriends…. He seemed sincere … but extremely doted on. I liked him and his cousin Princess also…
It’s possible (probable) that the overall fairywear and denimwear titles were door optionals. Those wouldn’t appear on the paperwork. Traven was cute on stage, but his only eye contact was with the floor. I highly doubt that 8 boys ran for the hills when they heard he was going. Also, directors don’t generally tell you who is registered, so unless mom was screaming it from the rooftops, no one would have known, anyway.
To me Trevon was just typical high energy boy but his Mom better get a grip on that attitude asap. His teachers might be miserable but his peers are not going to put with that mouth & he will get some swift butt kicking on the playground till he shuts it. Did anyone notice how all the girls were swooning over him? Future Lady’s man in the works so he must have some charm. Crock
I really got the feeling with that family that there was a lot of playing-to-the-cameras going on.
PG– they weren’t door optionals. The door optionals at that particular pageant were the Ultimate Grand Supreme, Beauty Supreme, and Personality Supreme. So basically, this weeks kids won 2 door titles and one made up title

Traven wasn’t high energy. He was obnoxious and his mom feeds into it. I have never seen 8 boys at a prelim. Ever. And usually not at state or nationals either.

Trevon-he was cute to a point, I did LOL when he walked up to Sam’s mom and told her that he was going to “beat” her. But then Sam was in a different age group at the end for the “higher” titles…. but WTG TLC production…! Really with the haircut on minute and full head of hair the next….!
Talk It– several of us have acknowledged that we are either pageant moms or pageant grandmothers. Its rare for me to go more than 2 weeks without knowing one of the featured kids (if not more) personally.

i don’t think there’s anything odd about them posting on here. i watch toddlers and tiaras all the time, and i for one am happy to receive behind the scenes info!
Talk-it– I’m not sure what you think is “odd”. Yes, several of us are pageant moms or grandmas. We often know the featured kids (more often, I know the kids in the background.
I agree with michkabibbles, I don’t think it’s odd, it’s a way they can vent without everyone that might know they calling them all kinds of names. This way they can let it go and relax. It’s nice to hear from the “other side” they might not always agree with the snarking on here but as everyone is intitled to their opinion it’s great to hear from them.
I’m loving the behind the scenes gossip, hell, I wish some housewives and bad girls would show up with their inside talk too.
I agree, I think getting the inside scoop great! With the inside scoop it helps us understand how the pageant world works. Speaking of it……where has pageantrefugee been?
Question PG…going back to Lacey-Mae’s dress, last night we saw the two piece cupcake dress. Wouldn’t that be easier to customize(I understand they buy used) for Lacey-Mae, by attaching/snapping(whatever is the correct sewing term) the skirt portion higher?
I agree with the majority of these posts… Traven made me very uncomfortable.

@Stagemom – Agree 100 %. Trevon is obnoxious. But so were my 4 brothers (only girl), 3 sons (no girls), & 8 nephews (2 nieces). Girls are not dominate in my family. Boys cook slower then girls. My husband is 50 & still can act like idiot . Trevon’s cousin handled him perfectly, rocked it, & was a doll to boot. Want her on T&T.
Lacey’s dress probably was 2 pieces. It’s rare to see one that isn’t these days. I personally would have brought the skirt up as high as possible without risking her booty showing, and ditched the sleeves. There was a whole lotta dress going on there, and you want the kid to wear the dress, not the dress to wear the kid. I also would not have put Samantha in white, with that platinum hair, but that’s just me.

Did you ever ask yourself, “how did that guy get to be such an asshole?” We have found the answer in this episode. I am more than a bit uneasy by Trevon. That mouth gesture that he did was so heeby.
Having pageant people posting here isn’t odd at all! Like others said, it’s great to have inside info. I dont have a kid in pageants, but TLC is filming a show (premieres this summer I think) about the activity my daughter does do. We were not approached for filming, nor would I allow it. However, my daughter knows many of the kids they did follow.
I started reading here to see how much is “reality” and how much is BS. If is site ends up recapping our activity’s show, I’ll be an insider.
Now about this episode: I thought the sign said “Congrats Travon/ Your 7.” I couldn’t figure out why they were congratulating him for having a birthday. Lol. Shouldn’t have watched in the wee hours of the morning! The “your” had me LOL for sure. Don’t people double check grammar when making a sign? And as for the girls giving Travon hugs, they totally looked like they were just doing as they were told. The last one, especially, seemed like she really didn’t want to. Bet TLC put them up to it! As for T’s behavior, we have lots of boys in our family. Only 2 of them would ever act like T did. Even my kids avoid those 2 cousins. I hope we never, ever see T on another episode.
@unlurking I have a Facebook friend from high school who’s kids do Irish dance and there were a flurry of posts on her page a few months back about TLC doing a show about dancers and she’s worried that the show will make them all look nuts. They can’t make you look nuts if you don’t give them anything to work with but her daughters dresses cost more than our beauty dresses and they tan and wear wigs too. I had to give her lessons on how to stone her daughters dress last year. I think she stopped way too soon, I would have added another 8-10 gross of crystals but she said if she added any more crystals, the dress would have been too heavy for her daughter to dance in. We decided that the biggest difference between our kids activities is that is her kids feet move really fast and my kid smiles on stage.

I don’t think it is necessarily odd that the pageant people are posting here, but I have been occasionally posting but faithfully reading for two years, and I find myself skipping over the comments more and more as the conversation seems to now to be dominated by the pageant people. While I do think they do add quite a bit to the conversation, I for one really miss the old snarky style before the pageant people dominated so much (what, four, five months ago?). A lot of commentators I enjoyed reading or sparring with rarely post now. Sorry if I offend. Just my opinion.

My niece does Irish Step and you are right. It is wicked expensive and I always said it looked like a pageant for dance. I am shocked the amount of money it costs. And believe me, if you don’t have the right “look”, it doesn’t matter how well you dance, you will not place. Just like a pageant lol.
Trevon’s mom better step up. Sure his attitude is cute because he is 6, it sure as hell isn’t going to be cute at 13. She needs to get the beat down started now…

Not to single them out though. They always stage little scenes and have the kids say stuff.
Anyway if Traven’s mom’s really wondering if he’s got talent potential or just a cute personality the 1st thing she needs to do is get him in an acting class. Because he needs discipline. I don’t mean his mama needs to fuss at him. I mean performance discipline. He forgets his words sometimes, and to pose right. Which is a shame because it looks like he’s got good body use when he remembers.
So a class would do him more good and be way cheaper than pageants.
I was disturbed by Trevon too- but more because he is likely to be a lost cause. He is obviously smart, talented and I think a genuinely good little boy. He is also longing and crying out for discipline. Every scene I saw bratty behavior but also a sort of restraint coming from a naturally good child. That will wear off and as he is indulged endlessly and has to act more and more for some structure in his life he will end up fulfilling at least one of the prophecies here.

Traven is a cute kid, who actually does have some performance potential, but there is something very unnerving about how everyone around him seems to encourage him to be “grown up”. He’s 6. 6-year-old boys should be playing with legos and still thinking girls have cooties, not making lewd gestures and suggesting grandma pick up a job at the local strip joint!

@Pageant grandma – you hit the nail on the head. Little 6 yr old boys should be playing legos, roughhousing with their friends, running around outside getting skinned knees, etc. And girls def have cooties at that age. I think anyone that didn’t find Trevon disturbing should rewatch the episode. Making sexual gestures, having mom tell him to be sexy to get the girls, discussing his grandma working the pole, etc: these behaviors are NOT NORMAL. I think we have seen where those baby daddies on the trash daytime tv shows come from. Sigh

The EASIEST way to find the episodes is to pick one of the kids names from the episode and add Toddlers and tiaras to the end of it in the Youtube search box. Thats how I normally find them.

Not putting anyone down but we critize on here.. Shit I know some of the kids too even know someone that does pageants and is very good at it but I dont see them coming on here posting and downgrading pageants hell they are all for them. I didn’t say pageant people couldn’t post on here just thought they wouldnt because this is to make fun of them. Lets just say I have seen or read some post on here about pageants or what they said went on at pageants and some have commented and I know that its not true because having know someone that works in the industry.. just think its kind of hilarious to hear it.

I sure some pageant moms do say stuff like that they hide behind names just like we do.. lol.. its all part of it I guess. When you are in that situation seems like the mood changes quite drastically which is normal. I enjoy the recaps as well and do watch the show. Cant believe how some of the kids and parents act… I might say not all of them… I have seen some well behaved polished kids on that show. If a kid enjoys it I say do it.. I just have a problem when a kid is being forced to do it and some parents cant deal that the child has no interest in it but makes them do it anyway.. then there is a problem
Well I sat my butt down last night and watched this one, my first thought was “trailer trash” and before anyone jumps down my throat, I want to live in one when I retire but sheets on the windows and multi colored cupboard just scream trash, reminds me of my first place when I was 17 and had no money.
Personally I think Traven should be called “Spawn” for those of you who have seen the money you will understand, for those that haven’t Google it. Yes I’m in a pissy mood but that’s neither here nor there. WTF was up with that kid, you sure can tell there is no father figure in his life cause that boy’s ass would be grass. Goldfinger, I mean Goldtooth needs let him be a kid and cut the crap of these pageants out. He’s going to get the shit kicked out of him when he gets older. I see the next Desmond Hatchett, again Google him. I think I’m spoiled for boys being an a pageant by Brock. That little boy was polite and no way rude. You don’t go up to someone’s mom and say what he did. I thought the sign at first was saying he was 1. I believe as others might and do that he was an addition to the pageant as Mr. Todd seemed to have to force himself to add boy into his speech. I loved his cousin “Princess” that girl has sass and won’t put up with male shit at any time. She’s going to be great friends with all the babies momma’s that he will have.

@confused Yes, most dresses are 2 pieces. Some little girls have a one piece Babydoll style, but the majority are a bodice and a skirt. Then when they hit the 11ish mark, you go back to a long dress. Makes it easier when they grow to have it two pieces to move up and down on the skirt and corset the bodice smaller and bigger.
Oh, absolutely. As with any activity kids are in, parents need to really examine whether this is for them, or the kids. If they love it, that’s great. If not, it seems an Awfully expensive way to torture your kid!

Having been around someone that has done pageants from what I have seen they come in two’s.. bodice and skirt.. BUT alot of them dont wear them right.. Makes me so mad when I see one of these kids go on stage and dont have it on correctly.. They are TWO pieces BUT you are supposed to SNAP the bodice to the skirt.. that way it looks like one piece not two. I have seen girls that look so beautiful and then they get up there raise their arms and ruin the whole damn performance. It really looks bad and wished they would ask someone especially if they dont know… but some of them dont know and I guess eventually they will learn.
I have been reading Crabby’s recaps for a long time. I think pageant moms (minus Candass and JLo) love her recaps because they are fair. If a kid is being a brat she calls them a brat. If a parent is being an ass she calls them an ass. But she also points out the good and the cute. I don’t come here to bash pageants or kids, I come here to read the recaps on tv shows and Crabby “gets” that even though it’s a reality tv show, it’s still a tv show.
Besides, I know that deep inside that snarky recapper exterior, there’s a secret pageant princess who loves bling and sparkle.
Did anyone else see the old dude in the audience wearing a cruddy tuxedo t-shirt? I am really loving the audience scan…. Better than finding Waldo.
What freaked me out about Traven was that he seemed a little freaked out by himself. At first I thought he was doing impressions of people from movies he’d seen (when he was yelling “This is MY HOUSE” and his mom was laughing). It really was as if he’d become possessed by his own clowning around and the awful thing was no one knew it but him! I didn’t like this ep at all. The producers were too visible.
Oh, for whoever asked about Samantha’s hair — those girls looked Nordic to me. I think that white Scandinavian blonde hair was indeed real.
@maryedith He knows when he messes up. And he even tries to improvise, and does pretty good for a 6 yr old. But all he’s got is what he learns from grown folks.
Which is why his mom needs to get him in a class. Because he’s smart enough to know when he forgets his words or doesn’t pose right.
But he’s not smart enough to train and coach himself like a teacher would. And his family’s too ignorant to know that teaching him to say stuff like Grandmama at the pony is so not a cute look.
Same thing with the little girl slapping her butt. It’s not like she invented that all by herself.
Kids that age aren’t old enough to know the difference between doing something that makes your family laugh at home and doing it on TV or in public.
And the families just need to be told to quit teaching them stuff like that. No matter how big a kick they get out of it.

For the record, I do not blame Traven for the things he did that I found inappropriate, rude or horrifying. The kid is 6 years old. I blame his parents and caregivers. I couldn’t do 98% of what these kids do when I was their age without my parents take care of it, right quick. And I don’t really think anyone else on here is blaming the him. I think a lot of Traven’s crazyiness was played up or encouraged by either his parents of the producers (probably both). Most likely, they took all of the inappropriate things he’s picked up over the years that are only cute because he’s little and made him do them in front of the camera. Have you ever seen a kid who knows all the words to songs that they have no business knowing because Mom and Dad played it one too many times in the car? I feel like that’s been Traven’s whole life. The people around him probably say whatever they want in front of him without a filter. Then he repeats it and everyone laughs and thinks it’s cute and it reinforces the behavior so then he brings it out whenever he wants attention.
I think school will probably be good for him. Hopefully, he will learn that, even if some things are accepted in his home, they are not acceptable in society. Plus he seemed pretty smart and I’ll admit the kid was handsome.
Oh boy. Will school fix Traven? Or are Traven’s parents the reason the public school system in this country is broken? Will Traven simply be diagnosed as ADHD by harassed, overworked teachers and become a proud father himself at 15?

My favourite was Eden’s last pageant, the “Rumble in the Jungle”, where, when she won her fixed title, she was declared the world champion of pageants!!! It wasn’t even a national pageant, let alone the “world championship”. These people are insane!
I think there is some hope for Traven. During one of his “monologues” he said “you need to make better choices” ****which tells me that perhaps he has been in a conselor or therapists office…..and listened. Hopefully he will get the guidance he needs and deserves.

@LoyalViewer Funny part is that Rumble in the jUngle was not her last pageant, it was about. 6-8 months after that. We were. There competiting, it was the girs’ 3rd pageant, Zoe was actually on for beauty because she was in the same group as Eden. There wwere some top notch girls there, so I am not sure how” “fair” it was :/
The thing with “rumble” that got to me was that according to the director, part of the prize package for the “world champion!” (of Louisville, Kentucky, apparently) was professional headshots. So why, then, on “eden’s world” does that child routinely show up at auditions with her glitz pics in hand?! Those ONLY serve a (albeit, strange, even to us “pageant folks”) purpose in pageants. Otherwise they’re useless.
^^Those glitz photos are the creepiest thing about pageants (other than when you see girls strip off a piece of clothing in their routine)!! I do like the sparkly dresses though lol.
On the subject of Eden Wood, her mum is completely delusional about how she makes Eden a “star”. Like they say on T&T all the time “if you want to run with the big dogs….” she really needs to get rid of that backwater agent and get a proper Hollywood agent and realize that the big wigs don’t want to see some photoshopped headshot. @Brianna Quinn I hope you’re right. I thought most of his vocabulary words came from TV though. His pronunciation and everything else about how he talked was so different from his mom and grandmama.
So he’s got a natural ear but all that’s just so far ahead of his focusing skills etc that it comes out looking odd.
He reminded me of some scenes of Eden Wood, where you can tell she’s had 0 training in how to do anything like work beyond holding still to get her hair fixed and do her pageant routines. But unfortunately she’s either got 0 ear or never watches TV.

@OES, had you read our other mini and recaps you would have noticed we all hate the little girls booty popping and doing stripper moves. Hell, in the next ‘cap I said the little 3 year ole would be one of Traven’s baby momma’s. If you had read our previous caps you would have known that we also realize many of these families put on a show and have their children act ‘extra’. Had Traven stayed in the realm of ‘Exorcist’ and sassy mouth little boy…there wouldn’t really be much to say. The problem is the 6 year old boy not only knew what a strip club was and knew the name of the local ‘establishment’. To top it all of he did that sexual motion with his mouth and tongue.

We have a strip club on the main road my kids travel to school. It’s called Cookies n Cream (if you can imagine..smh) AND it has 2 HUGE silhouettes of a naked woman on it, BUT ask my 6 or 10 year old and even my 16 year old what Cookies n Cream is & they’ll say it’s ice cream or a candy bar. So, ‘passing’ by a sign does not excuse his knowledge of the club! Period! I can imagine a 6yr old looking out the window and reading that sign and asking his parents what it is of course, but that’s it! Who told him what it is & what goes on there? How does he know what the words ‘strip joint’ is? NOT BUYING THE B.S!

I didn’t judge the ass smacking kid (on this episode) or the screaming terror on another show… or the little chubby girl in a tube top (on previous) shows… my reaction is always “what the hell is her “”MOM”" thinking” … not OMG what’s that little girls issue…
Personally, I said the following about traven: he’s a really cute kid. He is obviously very smart. He might actually have a future in acting or modeling. He desperately needs better parenting. Look, OES– this isn’t any of our first rodeos. We all get that things are staged/edited to look as crazy as possible. And I even get that with a kid like traven with that kind of outgoing personality the producers could have got him to do or say nearly anything. But for a 6 yr old to not only know what “the pony” is, but to suggest his grandma get a job there– to make that sexual gesture– to scream “I deserve this house!!!”, etc., while the adults in his life LAUGH– that’s where I have issues. That particular system doesn’t usually have boys, let alone EIGHT of them and since if you “drop out” you do not get a refund, yes, I find it HIGHLY unlikely that that was the case. The judges were right– cute kid, nice attire, good personality, but his only eye contact was with the floor. Get him out of pageants and into dance or acting classes– he’d flourish at that. It saddens me to see kid’s growing up that fast. He’s SIX. Girls should still have cooties, legos should be amazing, and under no circumstances should he know what “the pony” is or suggest grandma should work there.
Okay, here’s what I don’t get “OES” – you come on here and tell people to take their shit elsewhere…um, why did you come here in the first place? OES– No, no boys dropped like flies from that pageant. They allowed Traven by the request of TnT. THAT is why there was only 1 boy. And even at that, there are seldom more than 3 boys at ANY pageant and none of them are going to drop because some random no-name pageant kid is coming. By no-name I mean he isn’t a national level kid. He is cute and clearly a smart child, but needs some serious parenting changes. Boys who win a lot in pageantry are not a big deal, there aren’t that many who compete. Its like being in a race against 2 or 3 people.

Hi OES – I really wish you would have pulled the race card here – the people on TVGasm are equal opportunity in their bashing of Toddlers and Tiaras. I have a serious question – I was wondering how Traven knows how to do the oral sex gesture with his mouth and fingers. That really bothered me. I have a 9-year-old son and can’t imagine exposing him to such a gesture.
It is nice of you stand up for your family member/friend (by the way – I hope you are his aunt so I can tell you that I love his little girl cousin!). However, it is probably a losing battle to argue on this site. It is a snarky site written for people to get recaps of their favorite shows and make fun of some of the ridiculous stuff we see on TV.

I do have to say that I was really bothered by Traven’s behavior – in a worrisome way rather than offensive. My first comment on the thread reflects that. He appears so worldly (in a bad way) and his family seems to think that everything he does is funny. It is really a bad combination. I know some of it can be editing but not all of it.

I totally agree with you that a six-year-old shouldn’t have to know that people talk shit about him. However, how on earth would he know unless someone told him? Another way this could be avoided is to NOT HAVE HIM ON TV.

I believe a lot of us did get your point – don’t pick on a little kid. I think most people were in fact critical of the parenting and his behavior. I actually don’t think there is anything wrong with this – it was put before us on a television show for entertainment. We can comment that a child is acting like a brat on TV just as easily as we can turn to a girlfriend in McDonald’s and whisper about a bratty kid there.
I found this child to be one of the most disturbing children I have seen on Toddlers and Tiaras. His sexual knowledge makes me wonder what he has been privy to and makes me worry that he could have been in an unseemly position at some point in the past. It was very creepy. He is treated with such high regard and little parenting that many people are predicting that he will get into some type of trouble later in life due to this treatment. I am happy that you said he is nice in person and that you also admit that this is behavior that you would never put up with yourself. He did not come across as nice at all on the show though I am aware of the editing. Another mom that comments on here (Beth) had a daughter on the show and said that she had to be cautious of how they edited.

My son is being raised to use yes ma’am no ma’am, please, thank you excuse and and has been reading since he was one, is learning sign language now plays sports and love martial arts class, I dont condone anything that is disrespectful nor would make him fit into a statistic..

Sooooo late to the party. Sigh. Haven’t even been able to read the overnight comments ’cause I was asleep. I know. Wasted time.
I was so wrong. When I watched the last epi with the adorable 3 year old blonde with the insane mother who sleeps with her I thought well, Traven will be forgotten.
No so obvs. But I DO have a theory. Way knack when Eden was a child, everybody went ballistic over her crazy mom and the fact that a child with so little to offer except facial beauty in an odd Ann Nicole way, won over girls as pretty and more talented. Now she has her own show.
Then we had Alana with her rather outrageous stripper “hollah for a dollar” catchphrase. We went crazy and wrote in, giving her lots of publicity. Now she has her own show.
Traven would have been forgotten if OES hadn’t written in fanning the flames and keeping him visible for no apparent reason. Bucking for a Traven show? Why not. It has all the elements, cute but misguided child, crazy, enabling guardians, sadly neglected trailer for a home. Hey, Trave is a STAH!
OES, I am concerned about you and especially your children. You need help. You have serious anger issues, and must be out of touch with reality to get as upset (to say the least) over a few comments made about a child on a tv program.
If this set you off, what else does? You sound like homeless people (although you probably have a home since the public library has time limits on using the ‘puters) wandering the street ranting at demons only they can see.

OES, as a board member of our local Boys and Girls Club I am so happy you are taking advantage of a fantastic program. I would hope that Traven’s mother would also look into the program if it is available in her area. It is obvious that he would benefit from the opportunities the Boys and Girls Club offers.

Jay-Z might not care because that’s his song, but I’m sure Beyonce is giving Gwen major side-eye right now.
You know that fantasy bar night with Betty, tonya, mr. Todd, anette and Maxine? Maybe this one can get together (at the pony, perhaps?) with squid’s mom and candass? When she first came on saying that word had been used, I could totally see how that would be enraging and might cause her to overreact.
