Kerry is asked how he feels about his dishes. He replies “Happy. Maybe I would have made a few tweaks.” The critics thought the flavors of his “Love Letter” were lovely and more than one critic would have let him “get to second base.” His “Apology” felt classic, but not personal. James disagrees, he thinks he felt Kerry in that dish. Creepy.
But they want to know, what about his “letter” to himself was about him? Open ended question….
The critics ask Chris if he cooked for the critics? He said “No. I cooked with my heart and soul.” HIs “love letter,” did he think it was appropriate for a first date? (Why would they ask that- it wasn’t MEANT for a first date, it was meant to reflect LOVE. I don’t know many people who are “in love” on the first date. Except a few chicks on The Bachelor. Just because Kerry cooked what he cooked on his first date with his wife…) Chris said his wife loved it when he made it for her. Ruth thought it was amazing, and she never had anything like it before. She wonders HOW she could have missed this. His “letter” to himself, the critics thought the oyster was amazing, they loved the “nakedness” of the dish and it really showed who he was on a plate.
They are dismissed while the Critics make their final decision. Chris is sure Kerry is the winner, Kerry isn’t sure.
The critics dish about the dishes. They say, both chefs are so opposite. Both have amazing technique. Chris takes risks and he has an intense philosophy about food. Kerry just always wants to serve something delicious. But do they want to be comforted or thrilled?
Crap. During the commercial break, they show a preview of “Watch What Crappens Live” and Miss Andy’s guests are Chris, Kerry and Colicchio! Kerry’s BEST Man. WTF. I am sure this means that Kerry wins and my TV is going out the window!! Damn it.
Then they reveal the Bravo Poll Results- Who will be Top Chef. Kerry: 15% Chris: 85%. Ok, I can breathe again.
Back from commercial, Curtis enters the Whine Room to get the boys. They stand, nervously, in front of the Critics. Kerry showed exquisite technique and made delicious food. Chris served a startling and delicious meal.
The winner of Top Chef Masters is: CHRIS COSENTINO!!!!!!!!!!
Chris has won, in total, $141,000 for the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Chris’s uncle was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 30 years ago and he passed away last year. Chris says it has been an honor. Kerry is gracious, but…
