President Obama is monopolizing the first hour of primetime tonight between 8 & 9pm. The networks have rearranged their schedules to comply with this first official press conference. All except CBS that is. They have only set aside a half hour from 8 to 8:30pm. In the next few weeks there will be two more. Our new President will address the nation on Feb. 16th, to report on the stimulus package we’re hearing so much about these days. On Feb. 24th, it’s our 44th President’s State of the Union address to Congress. I have a feeling we’ll be seeing alot of him on TV.
Let’s check out what else is on after the jump……
Let’s start with CBS, since they don’t want us to suffer through ‘talking heads’ from 8:30 til 9pm….. gotta love ‘em for that!
It seems the only show they cut tonight is Worst Week. How I Met Your Mother airs at it’s usual time, 8:30pm, followed by that whoredog Charlie, who rocks the ratings in Two & a Half Men at 9pm. The Big Bang Theory takes over the 9:30pm time slot, which may bring it some new viewership. Christine Baranski guest stars as Leonard’s mom which, in the end, brings him closer to Penny. CSI: Miami airs at 10pm.
“We’d get more awards if this kid did more than eat, like maybe act!
NBC has Heroes at 9pm. Tonight is “Trust & Blood”. Matt’s still painting the future. Sylar’s still looking for his daddy & Nathan is still hunting down ‘heroes’. (please make sense tonight). Medium follows at 10pm. Ariel gets to have a baby with the dude she’s hot for, but it’s a fake one & it makes her feel weird when she holds it.
Remember when they WERE Heroes.
FOX has 24 at 9pm. It’s still Day #7 (of course) & the clock is ticking. The tension builds when the First Family is threatened.
ABC doesn’t know yet what it’s going to put out there tonight. Let me check my program guide, maybe they’ve decided by now………oooooo! They’ve decided to air The Bachelor at 9pm for a two-hour episode. Jason goes to the hometowns of the 4 finalists, to hang with their families & to see which one screwed the football team in high school. One of them will go back there for good.
The CW is airing repeats of Gossip Girl at 8pm & One Tree Hill at 9pm.
ABCFamily has The Secret Life of an American Teenager at 8pm. Amy & Ben are fighting while mom & dad interview adoptive parents for Amy’s baby. I bet she ends up keeping it. Kyle XY is at 9pm. Kyle, Josh & Nicole get in a car accident. Nicole & the pregnant driver are hurt. It’s Kyle to the rescue! ABCF announced last week that this show has been officially cancelled. Kyle’s batteries have been pulled.
I get my belly-button back!
MTV is really pumping out the new shows. Tonight they are giving us Girls of Hedson Hall at 9pm. Twelve of America’s rowdy-est, rudest & most disgusting skanks are shipped off to England & Hedson Hall, to repair their bad ways. The one to do the biggest about-face will get a $100,000 trust. Think of it as a cross between Bad Girls Club & Rock of Love Charm School. Tara Conner is a visiting instructor because she knows all about being bad. The real stars are Head Mistress Gill Harbor & her Chief Disciplinarian, Rosemary Shrager.
MTV also has new episodes of The City at 10pm & at 10:30pm.
TNT is airing The Closer at 9pm & Trust Me at 10pm.
NGC is having a “wreckage from the sea” theme tonight. It starts with Titanic: How it really Sunk at 8pm. Next is Flying Aircraft Carrier at 9pm, which investigates the crash of the USS Macon, the last of the US airships, off the coast of CA in 1935. At 10pm, it’s Deep Wreck Mysteries. Researchers dive to the bottom of the English channel, off the coast of France, to examine the wreckage of the SS Leopoldville which sank on Xmas eve in 1944. It went down with 750 US Infantrymen on board & is believed to have been sunk by a German torpedo.
USS Macon, not the Goodyear Blimp
That’s about it for tonight. The FOOD Channel has some new episodes of Unwrapped, Will Work For Food & Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives if you’re not interested in anything else I’ve listed.
Catch ya tomorrow.
