Put your hand down Jay. We know you’re here.
Tonight’s the first night of the rest of the 10pm time slot at NBC. Jay’s taking over & guess who he’s go on tonight? Kanye West! More after the jump…..
Money can’t change the village idiot.
It’s true. Jay Leno starts his 10pm, prime-time reign, 5 nights a week, with The Jay Leno Show, on NBC tonight. And as luck would have it, that drunken idiot, Kanye West, is scheduled to appear. The stickler is this, he’s not the primary guest, Jerry Seinfeld is. The self-absorbed West is just a back-up singer for Jay-Z, along side Rihanna, who are scheduled to perform. How do you think Jay is going to get dumbass to the couch so he can ask the famous Leno question: “What were you thinking?” Will anyone tune in to see. I’m sure they will. Jay doesn’t have any competition tonight, so it’s a foot in the door.
Leading up to Jay’s new show is America’s Got Talent at 8pm. The two-hour extravaganza showcases the 10 finalists vying for the million dollar prize & a gig in Las Vegas. Viewers will vote for their favorite & the winner will be announced on the Wednesday night finale. I don’t see anyone deserving this prize. If this is the best America’s got, then I’m auditioning next season.
And the winner is…..
As for the other networks, ABC is airing the movie Dreamgirls (2006) with Beyonce, Eddie Murphy & Jennifer Hudson, at 8pm.
CBS has all repeats of their normal Monday night fare. Their new seasons starts next week.
The CW is continuing it’s season premieres tonight with the 7th season opener of One Tree Hill at 8pm. Lots of teen soap opera stuff going on. Nathan has a new sports agent who’s sure to be trouble & (as in all these shows) Brooke is launching a new fashion line. Who’s buying all these clothes?
The big 3rd season premiere of Gossip Girl airs at 9pm. I really can’t comment on this show because I’ve never seen it, but I do know that the fans are excited about it’s return. I’ll have to take their word for it. (It’s not that I don’t want to watch. My satellite doesn’t have the CW.)
The Return of GG
FOX has 2 hours of House, starting at 8pm. They are getting us primed for the new season, which starts next week. By repeating the last two episodes from last season, they are refreshing our memories of how & why Dr. House is in a mental institution. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for this show’s return!
Cuddy + Baby = Looney bin!
Over on the cable channels, we have one new season premiere:
ABCFamily has it’s 4th season opener of Lincoln Heights at 8pm. In the aftermath of an earthquake, the Suttons are considering moving out of the neighborhood. If they do, then they’ll have to change the name of the show.
Greek follows at 9pm with a new episode.
To move, or not to move…. that is the question.
A&E has new episodes of Intervention at 9pm & my new favorite show, Hoarders at 10pm. The hoarders in this show are so extreme, they make me & my closets seem like just a few things. I admit that I hate to get rid of certain things because you never know when you are going to need them, but some of these people think they’re going to need everything. The worst are the food hoarders & animal hoarders. It has to be seen to believe.
Is this hoarding or laziness?
My final pick for the night is Inside the Actor’s Studio on BRAVO at 8pm. James Lipton’s guest is Seth MacFarlane & his voice cast from The Family Guy. I hate this cartoon, but it’s become a cultural phenom among the simple-minded. It’s worth a look into the mind of this sick-minded creator. Of course, I’m sure he’ll promote his new cartoon, The Cleveland Show which premieres on FOX later in the season.
Simple-minded is my business.
That’s it for tonight kids. My “Pick of the Night” is Hoarders. I love watching a show that makes me feel good about myself. Anyone planning on watching Leno?
love
