The Final Four, Stephen, JT, Taj & Erinn…. Who will be the “Sole Survivor”? More after the jump…..
Before we get to all the Survivor drama, I’ve got some gossip for ya’ll. It seems that the folk at FOX have crumbled under the on-line pressure & it’s going to renew the Josh Whedon, semi sci-fi thriller Dollhouse for 13 episodes this fall! I’m am so excited. I can’t believe a doomed show, that I like, is getting a second chance! I can only hope they give it a time slot that attracts more viewers. Let’s put it this way, if they can keep renewing ‘Til Death, then this show definitely deserves another go.
“Mission accomplished. I’d like a treatment now.”
ABC has also listened to me & renewed it’s previously doomed new comedy Better Off Ted. All of you Castle fans can relax. It is giving this show another chance too. The one big surprise at ABC is the renewal of Scrubs for a 9th season. After that great finale, I thought it was sure to go. It’s been reported that Zach Braff & Sarah Chalke are signed up for 6 episodes.
“Don’t ever doubt my powers Ted. I have Ellen.”
Over at NBC, (the network that needs a total overhaul) it seems they’ve realized that Medium is a winner & has ordered up 13, possibly 16, episodes for the fall season. If they cancel My Name is Earl FOX may be interested in picking it up.
Does this make you happy Flipit dear?
Okay, enough gossip for now. Let’s get to what’s on TV right now.
TONIGHT ON SURVIVOR….
Who’s it gonna be?
Tonight CBS will air the final Survivor: Tocantin starting at 8pm. We are down to the final 4 & Cooch Coach is now in the jury. I’m sure whoever makes it to the final 2, he will have many words of wisdom to bestow on them. So much depends on who win the next challenge. Erinn should be the one to go, but taking her to the final might be a good thing. I’m personally rooting for Stephen. I just think he’s adorable.
The boys think they’ve got this one in the bag…..
…. but they forget the power of the Queen!
“But they’ll all shit when I win.”
ABC has two big shows airing tonight, starting with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition 6th season finale at 7pm. It’s a two-part story showcasing the McFarland family, a single dad & his 3 boys who started a community reading program in Indianapolis, Ind. In part 2 at 8pm, The Indiana Pacers join in rebuilding the McFarland’s new home & are on hand for the family reveal. I give this a ‘one tissue box’ rating.
It’s Hammer time!
Desperate Housewhores follows with it’s 2-hr, season #5 finale at 9pm. (god, it seems like this show has been on forever!) Tom decides he needs to go back to college to learn Chinese. Lynette is not thrilled. Will there be a shocking cliff-hanger ending? I’m hoping evil bastard Dave kills everybody, not just Susan & MJ.
Why is she showing this little boy porn?
NBC has a two-hour Dateline at 7pm. It focuses on a 7 yr. old double amputee, Cody McCausland & his inspiring story of courage. It also gives us an update on the Slumdog Millionaire kids & whether Angelina or Madonna adopted them. At 9pm, it’s Saturday Night Live: Just Shorts with Andy Samberg hosting clips of old skits. I’ve heard that NBC plans on this being a regular show this fall. *shakes head*.
It’s cartoon finale night over at FOX. The Simpsons ends it’s 20th season at 8pm, followed by King of the Hill‘s 13th season finale at 8:30pm. The 7th season ends for Family Guy at 9pm with the help of the voices of How I Met Your Mother‘s cast. American Dad finishes off the night with it’s 4th season finale at 9:30pm. Finally!
The Simpson’s are on their summer hiatus.
What else is on? Oh, if you want a tad of nostalgia, the HISTORY Channel has How Bruce Lee Changed the World at 8pm. This martial arts movie star was HUGE in the late 60′s, right up until his untimely death in 1973. He is a pop-culture icon. Jackie Chan, Stan Lee & LL Cool J are on hand with commentary on his influence in their lives.
Classic English Dubbing!
Over at SHOWTIME, King Henry VIII is getting married again and he’s hired Thomas Cromwell as his wedding planner. The Tudors airs at 10pm & Anne of Cleves, the German maiden will become the King’s 4th wife, sight unseen. Charles Brandon is sent to take a look at her & thinks she’s quite plain & boring. “Unworldly” is the term he uses. I am totally into this show. The fact that he kills little kids as traitors is a bit disturbing, but Jonathan Rhys Meyers eats up the screen with his over-the-top portrayal of the King. He’s not bad to look at either.
Anne of Cleves: Plain, Boring & Unworldly?
This is it for the Sunday night finales. What on earth are we going to watch in the coming weeks. I’ll be bringing you a full list. Be looking for it. Stay tuned for all the networks full fall schedules too.
