TV Patrol: Are You Ready…..

We need to talk after the jump…..So You Think You Can Dance premieres tonight on FOX, at 8pm. Season #5 ended just 5 weeks ago. I don’t think I’m ready for the “Hot Tamale Train” to rear it’s ugly head just yet! Mary Murphy’s screech is getting old. Actually, it was old 3 years ago. The network has decided that it wants to give SYTYCD a shot in the fall schedule. It will compete directly with ABC’s Dancing With the Stars Results Show in the coming weeks. Tonight it competes with President Obama’s Address to the Joint Session of Congress. I think that’s a great idea! I just need to brace myself for Mary’s assault on my ears. I can do what I did last season, record it & then fast forward her mouth.

The series premiere of Glee follows SYTYCD on FOX, at 9pm. I saw the sneek-peek this summer, but I don’t remember much about it. Singing & dancing teenagers & a misguided teacher, who hates the cheerleading coach, starts up a “glee club”….. right? Sounds like a clone of High School Musical.The tweens are gonna love it.

The 13th cycle of America’s Next Top Model premieres at 8pm on the CW. Tyra has decided to ‘step it up a notch” & this season all the models are 5’7″ or under. Critics call these girls “catalog models”, because they’re too short for the runway. It starts out with 32 short & sweet wannabes, but they are quickly weeded out & we end up with 14 staying, getting make-overs, & moving into their new, plush home in LA. The first competition is a twist on baby pictures. Hmmmm, sounds like a pervert lay-out.The awesomely beautiful Iman is the guest judge.

ABC, NBC & CBS will all be airing President Obama’s Address to the Joint Session of Congress at 8pm. The topic tonight will be health care reforms & the need for a bi-partisan agreement. There will be talking heads analyzing everything he says afterwards, so nothing will be on schedule.

NBC will air America’s Got Talent results show after the President’s speech. I watched last night & I didn’t see anyone that was worth even being on the show. It was awful. Who picked these people? Barbara Badilla, the self-taught opera singer, was the only one who gave a performance worthy of a place in the finals. The rest were crap.

Top Chef: Las Vegas at 10pm on BRAVO is all about french cuisine tonight, so you know the chefs are screwed. Padma makes them form teams of two to cook for a parade of famous chefs making surprise appearances tonight. The loser of the quick challenge is immediately eliminated. Must be so they can form those teams of two.

That’s it for tonight. My “Pick of the Night” is So You Think You Can Dance. It’s auditions so Mary won’t be on that stupid train yet. (I hope.)

Oh & before I forget. I’m never watching Big Brother again. Never, Ever, Ever!
