Billy Mays and Anthony Sullivan from Pitchmen

For those of you that haven’t heard yet, famed pitchman Billy Mays died in his sleep this morning. He was known world-wide for his bellowing voice in the “Oxi-Clean” commercials. It was not immediately clear how he died. He said he was hit on the head when an airplane he was on made a rough landing Saturday, and Mays’ wife told investigators he didn’t feel well before he went to bed that night. Mays was 50 yrs. old.

Discovery Channel will have a marathon of Mays reality show Pitchmen, which he co-starred with fellow pitchman Tony “Sully” Sullivan, on July 1st. It will begin at 11am est. & end with the season finale at 10pm. If you’ve never seen the show, it’s well worth a look. Mays & Sully would examine people’s inventions & products, looking to help those with great ideas, but needed financial help & a “great pitchman”. What better way to celebrate this man’s life! I’ll miss him more than Michael Jackson!

It’s been a bummer of a week with all these people dying. When I heard the news last night that Billy Mays died, I was really sad. My first reaction was – “Not the Oxy Clean Guy!” my 2 year-old loves him. From what I have heard about him on my local newscast he was a really decent guy. I am going to check out the marathon.

He will be missed in the bbjunkie household & every time I squirt that Oxy Clean I will think of him :)
