CBS is getting us ready for the second-best part of the Super Bowl. The commercials! Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials airs at 8pm. Ten of the best advertising gimmicks & eye-catchers. Companies pay millions to get a spot on the most watched TV event of the year. The #1 classic is still “Mean Joe Greene & Coke”.

More after the jump!

AKC/Eukanuba National Championship is on both the Discovery Channel & Animal Planet, at 8pm. This 8th annual dog show was held in Long Beach with over 3000 dogs vying for “Best in Show” & a $50,000 cash prize. The American Kennel Club allows only the 35 standard recognized breeds who participate by invitation only. Bob Goen will be the host with Lee arnold assisting in the play-by-play.

NBC has the final episode of Crusoe at 8pm. No fanfare for this finale. Nobody watched. At 9pm, they are repeating Saturday Night Live Sports Extra. Then at 11:30pm, a new Saturday Night Live with Steve Martin & his 15th appearance as host. The musical guest will be Jason Mraz. I don’t watch SNL much anymore, but I can’t turn down Steve Martin. He’s just too funny, no matter what they give him to work with.

“I am not promoting my new “Pink Panther” movie!

Lisa Lampanelli: Long Live the Queen is on HBO at 10pm. This is her first stand-up appearance on HBO. If you like hateful comedy, she’s the girl for you. No one is safe from her acid tongue. This is why she’s called “The Queen of Mean”.
