TV Patrol Wednesday: ‘Gasm Glancing……….

A new season of America’s Next Top Model premieres tonight on the CW at 8pm with a 2-hour episode. Tyra Banks, the shows host & top judge, is in Las Vegas, at the famed Cesar’s Palace to meet 36 wannabes. More about ANTM & a clone show after the jump……..

Paulina Porizkova, Nigel Barker and “Miss J,” J. Alexander join Tyra Banks at the judges table again for cycle 12. Clay Aiken will appear on the April 8th episode, helping the models with an acting routine & later joining Tyra & the others at the judges table.

There is an unusually diverse group of girls this season. Tyra was looking for interesting personalities. One suffers from epilepsy, another has facial scars from a childhood scalding which she wears as a badge of honor & refuses to cover up. One young lady’s day job is that of a ‘street preacher’, spreading the gospel to all that pass by. Another is very old for this show, she’s 25 & on the verge of being “over the hill”. The one I’m hoping Tyra picks is a tad on the plus-size. It’s about time we are represented!

By show’s end, Tyra will have weeded out the wackadoodles & made them the top 13 & in a final challenge reduces the contestants to 12. Next week the girls will be in New York City for the competition begins in earnest.

BRAVO’s got it going on tonight. Top Chef: New York…. “Watch What Happens” Reunion airs at 9pm. Andy Cohen hosts the 5th season reunion of judges & cheftestants. We will get to hear why the judges chose Hosea over Stefan & Carla. (a decision dripping in controversy & fan-pissed-off-dom). We all know that Carla will receive the “Fan Favorite” $10,000 prize, unless Fabio budges her out. Oh well, she won the car, no need for greed. She just wants to spread the LOVE!

Following the Top Chef reunion is the premiere of Make Me a SuperModel, season #2 at 10pm. Tyson Beckford is back as host & mentor to the dudes wanting to be a supermodel. Nicole Trunfio is mentor for the girls. A new panel of judges joins the series, including world-renowned designer Catherine Malandrino, model Jenny Shimizu, famed photographer Perou & international model scout Marlon. (WHO???) This model show is also located in NYC. (I wonder if they ever run into Tyra’s girls!) Top prize is $100,000 & a contract with New York Model Management. (WHO??)

Just a few more things:

Tonight on American Idol at 8pm on FOX, Ryan Seacrest reveals the “Top 9″ viewer’s choices for the season. Tomorrow night the judges get to pick the three “wild card” contestants.

LOST is all-new at 9pm on ABC followed by Life on Mars at 10pm. ABC announced earlier this week that they would NOT be renewing Mars for another season, but they did promise to have a finale that would wrap up Sam’s jump in time & explain why it all happened. Closure! I guess I have to be satisfied with that. It’s more than they gave us with Eli Stone & Pushing Daisies & Dirty, Sexy Money. I’m not bitter though. I like getting attached & then having my heart ripped out.

One more thing & I promise I’m done for today. Thursday night, MTV is airing the LIVE 3rd season finale of Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Next Dance Crew at 10pm. The viewer votes are in & the winner will be announced live on air. All nine competing crews return & the new “Crew” is crowned.

On USA, Burn Notice has it’s #2 season finale at 10pm.
