Season Finales

The “Midseason” is winding down. Only a few shows left to finish their runs. Can you guess who was on top this week? Let’s jump to it……
Some things never change & Mr. Nielson’s list looks alot like last week. But look at that, NBC made the list! The Biggest Loser came in at #19 with 11.8 million viewers on it’s last night.

Survivor: Tocantins hit the list three times in it’s final week at #14 for it’s finale, #18 for it’s Thursday night show & #20 for it’s reunion special. I was so disappointed that LOST‘s finale didn’t make the list. It garnered 9.4 million viewers & I was one of them. It had a big DVR rating though. Lots of people recorded it for later viewing.

Things will be changing in the next few weeks as the shows end their seasons & the new & replacement shows start airing. I’m looking forward to seeing something new on top. What do you think will be #1 after American Idol & Dancing With the Stars are finally gone from the airwaves?

Mr. Nielson’s “Top Twenty” list for the Week of May 11-17:

1. American Idol (Wed.) FOX 24.7mil
2. American Idol (Tues.) FOX 22.7mil
3. Dancing with the Stars ABC 18.6mil
4. Grey’s Anatomy ABC (season finale)16.5mil
5. The Mentalist CBS 16.2mil

18. Survivor: Toncantins (Thurs.) CBS 12.2mil
19. Biggest Loser NBC (season finale)11.8mil

Cable ratings were dominated by the NBA Playoffs, NASCAR & the WWE Wrestling.

I really don’t have much else to report on. May sweeps are coming to an end. Things are slowing down. It’s time to get ready for Big Brother.

How is Southland doing? The show is very good (with one of the best theme songs to come along in years,) but they need to trim the cast a little bit to better focus things.

    The season finale was intense.

    Overall, I give the 7 episode season a B+

“Southland” came in #12 on NBC’s rating list with 4.6 million viewers. They are moving it to Friday nights at 9pm this fall. It will compete directly with “Medium” which came in #4 with 7.3 million viewers on the same list last week.
